Snippet for a HawksDabi OS :)
It had been months now since he became a regular visitor. According to the visitor entries, he’s the only one besides Shouto.
It became a norm to see the HPSC president sitting next to the pod, in a call, filing paperwork or even dozing away, despite his office being not even ten minutes away.
“Hey, Touya,” Keigo looks up, knowing that Touya listens to him, no matter what he’s doing (which could only be sleeping and being awake, but honestly, that’s already a lot).
When he sees those icy blue eyes move down at him, his smile grows. “You know, I always thought that you’d have another quirk besides your Blueflame.”
It takes a moment for Touya to react, but when he does, it’s the best reaction Keigo could’ve dreamed of - a tiny chuckle, free of coughing or pain.
Keigo rests his head on the glass, watching Touya from beneath.
“Well,” he rubs his left eyelid, “it just seems to be a waste of your talent to only have one quirk, you know? It’s already strong, but you’re made for more. Like, that ice of yours doesn’t even do anything except keep you a bit alive. Like, fire and something plant-based!”
“Wouldn’t I burn the plants?”
“Well, maybe? But did you see how durable plants can be?”
“Still flammable,” a small cough.
“Okay, fine, maybe not plants, but there should be something compatible. I know fire goes with lots, like lightning and explosions, but there have to be other quirks to go with it.”
“Hm,” the president hums in thought, and looks back down at his files. “Dunno yet, but I’ll let you know when I can think of one.”
He doesn’t expect an answer from Touya, the other oftentimes remaining silent to listen to the other. But today, something must’ve given him strength, because Keigo hears a small hum from Touya.
“I’d like something unrealistic, maybe mythological. Probably like a kitsune or so.”
“A kitsune? Are you a furry?” Keigo grins as Touya makes a sound resembling a snort.
“Would you still love me if I’m one?” The smile he would have worn is deeply missed by Keigo.
“What the-” Keigo laughs this time, holding his stomach as his laughter bounces all over the walls. “Why wouldn’t I love you?”
“Right,” Touya’s voice grows weak again, his strength depleting. “Because you were half a furry yourself.”
This earns him a squawk, an instinct and sound that Keigo still had the privilege to hold onto.
“How dare you say such things to me?!” The ex-hero grins at the tiredly smiling Touya.
“What ‘bout you?” Touya seems to use up his remaining strength, eyes drooping, and his heart rate slowly evening out into a gentle rhythm.
He waits a moment, listening to Touya’s monitored heartbeat as if it were a lullaby.
Then, when he was sure that Touya had really fallen asleep, he let a tear slip.
“I want a quirk that keeps you alive,” he admits. “I don’t think I can do this alone, Touya. I don’t want to lose you.”
Moments fly past, but his mind is stuck in a loop of nothingness.
Then, his eyes snap up, and he utters something he never thought about.
“I don’t need an extra quirk. I just want the universe to always bring us together.”
