Widely considered the first openly homosexual figure in Peruvian history, Juan José Cabezudo had, by the early nineteenth century, also become one of the most recognizable public figures in Lima despite their modest social and economic position. An Afro-Peruvian cook, street vendor, and culinary entrepreneur, Cabezudo built a reputation largely through the preparation and sale of tamales, sweets, and other prepared foods that circulated through the city’s busy streets, plazas, and elite social gatherings. But while they were known for their culinary endeavors, Cabezudo’s visibility within Lima also extended beyond the food they prepared and served. The combination of their perceived effeminate dress, gestures, speech, and demeanor resulted in them becoming publicly identified as “el maricón,” a pejorative term used in nineteenth-century Peru toward men understood to be feminine or sexually nonconforming. Despite the hostility embedded in this label, Cabezudo was able to live freely and openly, occupying a highly visible and socially legible role within the city’s urban culture and becoming one of the clearest documented examples of gender nonconformity in early republican Latin America.

My daughter Iman I wake up every day fearing that her pain will be worse than the day before. Her condition is deteriorating day after day, and the pain in her feet never leaves her neither in her play nor even in her sleep. Her little eyes, once full of life, now carry a pain far beyond her age and my heart breaks silently as I stand helpless, unable to ease her suffering.
Iman is not just a sick child she is an innocent soul who once dreamed of walking and running like other children, of laughing without pain. Today, every step she takes is heavy with tears, and every moment she lives is filled with suffering that I witness without having the power to change it. The feeling of helplessness in front of my daughter’s pain is the hardest thing a father can endure.
I appeal to every kind heart… please do not leave Iman to face this pain alone. Any support, any share, could be the reason her childhood is saved before it is lost. My daughter is fading before my eyes, and all I ask for is a chance to treat her and bring hope back into her life… before it is too late.

Last year, I was pregnant with my daughter Tia during one of the hardest times of our lives. We were going through a terrible period of hunger and scarcity. There was barely any food, and I suffered deeply because I could not nourish my unborn baby the way a mother should. There was also almost no medical care or treatment to make sure she would be born safely.🥹😭
After months of fear and exhaustion, Tia was born in a fragile tent while bombs and destruction surrounded us. She was supposed to be born and grow up in our warm home, but our home was bombed and destroyed, leaving us with nothing but a worn tent. This small, fragile tent cannot protect her from the freezing cold in winter or the burning heat in summer.😢😢My daughter never received the childhood she deserved. Her first year of life has been filled with suffering, displacement, and pain. We have lived through the hardest days, and even as a baby, Tia feels the fear and anxiety around her every day.🥹
Today, my little girl is only one year old.🫂 She has never known what safety feels like. The only things she knows are hunger, fear, and the sound of bombs.😢
My baby urgently needs the most basic things to survive food, diapers, and clothes. What may seem small to others means everything for my daughter.
Sometimes I look at her and wonder if Tia could speak, she would tell you how sad she is and how much she needs your help. A baby should never have to live like this.
From the heart of a mother, I am begging you to please help my child. Even the smallest donation can make a difference in her life.
Please be the light that brightens Tia’s dark days. Your kindness could help save my innocent daughter’s life. 🤍😭

as of april 9th, my friend Amal ( @mariam-ashour ) and her family haven't received any donations for four days. they are just $174 USD from the next milestone of $13k. if you have funds to spare, please consider contributing to their campaign—they are a large family of 12+ people including a 4-month-old baby, children, and elders, and several family members dealing with illness and injury. this is their only source of income due to the impossibility of finding work; without it they have no reliable access to food and water, shelter, medical care, and necessities. i know there are many many people suffering in the world right now, but please don't neglect the opportunity to help where you can. even if the impact seems small to you, to someone else it matters more than anything.
Hello friends, I'm Sahar! Lia & I are friends of the Ashours & Shehabs, and we'll be helping them run this campaign. Both families have had
Verification info: Amal's former fundraiser is #175 on @/nabulsi, @/MohAyesh, and @/el-shab-hussein's spreadsheet and was shared by @/bilal-sala7 and @/90-ghost. The Shehab family's former fundraiser is #764 on butterfly effect project's spreadsheet, was additionally verified by @/el-shab-hussein, and shared by @/90-ghost. Their current joint campaign has been shared by @/bilal-sala7.

guys, every contribution and every donation makes a real difference in our lives. Please donate and don't ignore my appeal. You are our true support, so donate and participate. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Please donate and share, my family needs you. Please, young people, donate even a little.
Over 50 people have seen this post and no one has donated. What's going on, friends? My daughter Mina needs milk. I swear to you, I don't have enough money for a can of milk, and I don't have enough for Mina until morning.
Please donate to us. Everyone who sees this post, please donate the price of a can of milk. Please, everyone.
This is not just a fundraiser—this is our only source of income. Without these donations, we simply cannot survive. There is no stability, no work, no safety—only this small hope that people will stand with us. Please, if you can, donate even a little. And if you can’t, share our story. Your support is not optional for us—it is life itself.
hey remember when you were feeling anxious, frustrated, panicked, whatever that emotion was, and then
you set a timer for 30 minutes and stretched and worked out aerobically? and while the core struggle isn't gone, it didn't feel so scary anymore?
this is your reminder that it helped. you should probably do it again, and give yourself a sticker about it
my routine has changed so my previous strategy hasn't been as effective. However!
tired after showering soon after waking and annoyed at how long it takes when i need to be out? -> move shower to before sleep
there's "extra" time in mornings now where i can move my body before i move along my day
tired after returning home? having all those feelings and perhaps also dehumanized? ->
lay down with eyes closed for 15 minutes. priority is to breathe and rest. then do that stretching and exercise. that fucking rush becoming a person again!!
and whether the relief is consistently replicated or not, we get a sticker or stamp!! physical praise 😤

I do appreciate all the support on my post about Marlow Trottie, but yall need to do that kind of thing for Black trans women while they're still alive too. That's actually more important in a lot of ways.

Hey all! Normally when I post for Mona's community aid initiative, I post about the communities of refugees she is helping. But today I went to Instagram to update you all and saw that she hasn't posted since April, and we hadn't spoken since then either. She hadn't messaged me updates like she normally does. I was very afraid. It turned out she had broken her phone during a displacement, and she hasn't been able to replace it due to the high costs. Mobile phones are a scarce and expensive resource in Ghazzah but they are a lifeline for the families there. And for Mona it is not just a lifeline for her family but also for the refugee community she has dedicated the last few years of her life serving. She cannot connect with her usual network of volunteers or access funds without her phone (she had to contact me through her mother's phone). Despite helping displaced refugees, her and her family are also displaced refugees also living out of a tent, and she cannot currently afford a replacement. Please please please help her get a new one so she can continue doing the life-saving work she has been doing. Chuffed link to support Mona.
Every single dollar counts!!
Trans woman in need of help!!!!!
tl;dr trans woman needs help paying bills, money for meds, and money for food!
Hi! I'm Mordred! I'm a trans woman that loves photography, writing trans smut, and streaming video games for folks to watch. I'm disabled, unemployed, I've tried for many months to get a job, but no where has given me a call back. I'm really desperate to keep a roof over my head, food in my fridge, and the electricity and Internet kept on since my husband (only source of income) works from home.
This is Dove.
I also need money for his food and litter.
I'm genuinely very desperate. And could use any help possible. I have been banned from PayPal and Venmo after a terf harassment campaign got me removed from both and ruined a lot of my life (keeping me from making money).
My only ways to receive money are with cashapp and zelle. Cashapp info below, DM me for zelle. If you need PayPal or Venmo, I could share my husband's in dms.

> the Vietnamese
> that country
It's like you don't even pretend to view Vietnamese People as human
America killed 3 million Vietnamese people, we put half of South Vietnam in Concentration Camps, we dropped more bombs on North Vietnam than were dropped by both sides in WW2, We permeantly poisoned the land with Agent Orange, the American war on Vietnam was the most inhuman and despicable action in this nations history, the Vietnamese had every right to do whatever they wanted to the occupation
When you learn what the US soldiers did to the Vietnamese, you'll never stop praying for the death of America.
