As both groups on Facebook seem to be dead, we’ll be taking our well earned forty keks, retreating to some old temple in a vanilla zone and burrowing to sleep until some obnoxious adventurers accidentally wake us up.
We dusted this old thing simply for this amazing update.
The original Failzeroth (top image) appears to be dead.
The second attempt looks like it never got off the runway.
We’re gonna go right ahead and claim victory. They may still be shit talking other RPers privately but at least they have the good damn sense to keep it on the down low so they don’t end up being publicly dragged for being trash people again.
But, hey, if the group ever picks up in activity, you’ll know we’re still there and still watching. :)
Someone told me that a TRP I worked hard on was bad, and I shouldn't let it get to me but I've been afraid to be seen on that character since. I'm scared of getting posted on one of those TRP shaming groups or something.
Just going to leave this here for people who like to claim shitty groups and blogs like Failzeroth “don’t deter anyone from RPing what they want.”
The best advice we have: Put that person on ignore and continue playing the character. If they get their friends to harass you about it, or create different characters to harass you about it, don’t respond with anything beyond specifically telling that person to not contact you again on any character for any reason, put them on ignore again, then take screenshots of the harassment and open a GM ticket to report the harassment.
If they offered up some reasons as to why it was ‘bad’ that don’t boil down to, “It’s not a character concept I personally enjoy” then, by all means, consider their unwarranted criticisms and make changes if you see fit to make changes.
However, still put them on ignore as there is no legitimate reason for anyone to send unsolicited criticism of someone else’s RP profile; adults who come across something that isn’t their thing just click away and focus on what they enjoy.
Petty, immature children assume everyone wants their opinion even though nobody really does or that their opinion on what someone else is doing is necessary.
They are not “telling it like it is” or “trying to be helpful” or “having a harmless laugh”, they’re being a shit tier human garbage and they damn well know it.
There are always, unfortunately, going to be assholes who think their opinion on someone else’s RP is worth anything and you’ve really just got to try your best to remind yourself that they’re just a shitty person and don’t get to have a say in how you play your character.
If you enjoy the character, fuck anyone who tries to tell you it’s bad; nothing is forcing them to interact with you and anyone who tells you that it ‘ruins their immersion’ or anything similar is just a piece of trash that can safely be discarded.

Okay, so since I’m under a lot of fire, I want to say this: I’m not encouraging any kind of suicide. I have depression and know the struggles of such topics. I have been bullied in school for my weight and I know the pain. I’ve tried multiple times to end it in my past.

I just think it’s petty how people post things about people without proof, that’s the entertaining part. Not that someone is a pedophile or rapist, I don’t support that at all.

That’s not what you said in the original post. In case you forgot what you said were things like:

You called a blog that posted things calling people pedophiles, encouraging suicide, encouraging self harm, etc...”harmless” and straight up said it was drama to be laughed at and that people who were upset were over reacting.
That is encouraging exactly what you’re now trying to claim you aren’t encouraging and, honestly, I doubt anyone believes what you’re saying at this point.
The fact that you’ve been bullied is irrelevant and doesn’t mean you can’t also BE a bully or encourage bullying, which is exactly what you did in your original post.
You didn’t at all say the blog was petty, you said the people getting upset over it were being petty and overreacting.
Well over 100 people openly saw that and several called you out on it.
More probably saw it and decided not to say anything because people like you aren’t generally worth talking to as they can’t and won’t ever admit they hold terrible views and will instead double down on it (You’d fit in well at Failzeroth if you played WoW) when confronted...which is exactly what you did here.
You defended a trashy blog that was used by trashy, mean spirited people so they could be anonymous bullies as harmless.
That’s what people are angry about.
You also showed what kind of person you are as opposed to the kind of person you wanted to present to the world. You peeled back the layers and showed everyone that there was just garbage underneath. If I played FFXIV, I’d pre-emptively block you so I wouldn’t have to run the risk of ever having to interact with someone like you.
You’re rejected by RP groups because you’re actually a bad person who just pretends to be decent; problem is, your true behavior will always show through, as it did with the post you deleted and as it does with this post.
You need to grow up.

Now I know people will hate me for fighting for the blog, but I’m the type of person to stay out of drama and grab some popcorn and watch it with a big grin on my face.
Why can’t we all just get along?
No.
Blogs like that aren’t harmless. They’re detrimental to any RP community, encouraging pettiness and cruelty. It won’t hurt the big name RPers, either, as most of those named rolled their eyes and ignored it or made fun of it.
But it’s the smaller RPers who’re just getting their feet wet who see this kind of thing and freeze. The idea that someone might not like their RP and decide to anonymously snipe at them on that blog (without them knowing who was doing the sniping) might make them rethink doing anything publically.
Which would mean less creativity, and more people deciding not to seek new RP partners or experiences.
Rather than enjoy another person’s suffering, or laughing as people mock them, you could, I dunno, Christmas shop? It’s a tad bit healthier.

The lack of self awareness is stunning.
Chances are, you’re being rejected because you participate in bad behavior and like to sit back and “laugh at drama” instead of denouncing it.
A Lament
A few evenings ago my name was brought up in a conversation about people toxic to the roleplay community. I was on an alt that I haven’t really named much, so I don’t think the person knew I was in the chat channel.
But they said it and you know, it’s true. I was a toxic person to the roleplay community, both Varendil and I were toxic people, and I don’t think we’ve ever really truly apologized for that.
We took a community that was full of creative and talented people and used it as a playground to make ourselves look better. We thought ourselves better than others and decided to be loud about our false superiority. We were wrong. We were immature and toxic to a group of people who we should have been celebrating and working with. Roleplayers already get a bad rap, and what we did may have made that rap even worse.

If two of the most prominent names in “we’re just doing critique you guys!” managed to grow up and figure out that they’d actually been being pretty terrible people, it shouldn’t be beyond current Failzeroth members to do the same.
You’re not having harmless fun, you’re being assholes, and before any of you pull that edgelord “I’m proud to be an asshole!” thing, just know that that attitude is just kind of sad if you’re older than 13.
People in Failzeroth who actually do hold reasonable opinions but still, for some reason, choose to hang out with douchebags always get their opinions “countered” by douchebags.
The douchebags always get more likes for their shitty views as well, because the group, at its core, is filled with actual human garbage.
“Hey guys, I’ve been on hiatus and decided it was time to be a literal trash person again by making fun of people who are having fun in a way I don’t personally like!”
Discuss: Let people RP what they have fun RPing, because it in no way affects you or your enjoyment of the game.
Discuss: If you don’t like what or how this person is roleplaying, don’t roleplay with them. Everyone wins that way.

What is the point of this? Yeah, you’re talking shit ablut the people who are posting and make fun of trp/mrp profiles, but you’re still showcasing that original profile that was insulted in the first place. Doesn’t that sort of make you just as bad?
Two reasons:
1) The original holder of the profile then has proof they need to report the post and group to Facebook to have the images of their profile taken down. Without that, they have no proof unless they manage to get approved to join the group, and the group has been more careful with who they let in since this blog became a thing.
We can get them direct links to the post or image in question if they don’t get into the group or don’t want to join it and have the members know their real name.
2) We don’t think there’s anything wrong with the profiles posted to that group anyway, so there’s no reason to hide them. There is no reason for the person whose profile it is to be embarrassed by their character, and they do have a right to know if/when someone is talking shit about them behind their back.
If your next question is, “But, why do you block out the names of the people posting in Failzeroth, then?” It’s twofold: We’ve had images removed by Tumblr for privacy reasons before if we don’t and, since Facebook generally requires people use their real legal name, it opens people who post in the group up to being doxxed by people who are even bigger assholes.
Doxxing is a shitty thing to do to someone, even if you don’t like them or what they’re saying, so we block out their last names to lower the chances of them being doxxed by something found on this blog.

If there's one thing nobody has ever said it's, "Members of Failzeroth are incredibly intelligent."
“Discuss” is her way of trying to make it seem like they’re just ‘debating’ or ‘talking about’ profiles and not just making fun of the roleplayer selected.
Make no mistake, however, the vast majority of comments are making fun of the people that get posted in that group.
