● "Well you're pretty pasty, yeah? It's just a saying though, relax. You should brush up on the modern lingo."

"Pasty? I do use sun cream! I just meant it's possible for me to be burnt, despite my grayness."
● "Well you're pretty pasty, yeah? It's just a saying though, relax. You should brush up on the modern lingo."
"I wish that was universal. I absolutely get sunburnt."
● "Have you considered using sunscreen? It doesn't smell very good, but at least your pasty ass won't turn strawberry red."
● "One of the benefits of having eerily gray skin is you don't really sunburn! ...You don't really tan either though."
Chiikawa had been enjoying a day out by themself. Yet, when they were addressed by this stranger, they stopped and stared at her, slightly worried. Gulp!
They closed their eyes tightly and shook their head quickly. "No...!"
● "No to which? The being a fairy, being edible, or being something you shouldn't spill water on?" She was a fairy herself, but that didn't mean there weren't fairies that couldn't look like, well, this. Baobhan sighed. "Forget it, you don't seem like you talk very much."
"Or are you scared of me because I asked about your edibility? Don't worry, I don't eat random creatures I find on the street. Anymore."
crying at official art of grand archer baobhan being her in her third ascension after overcoming her despair
another year of fes artwork for baobhan sith!
" It could be worse...?"
was what was whispered to the archer as ritsuka remains crouched down behind a few large crates of what was no doubt scientific equipment, a logo and words that only came across as gibberish to her stamped onto the front. the entire reason for taking shelter behind them was a pair of patrolling robots scanning the long hallway that separated them from what looked to be an office of sorts with a keypad.
" Doesn't look like one that needs a keycard.....maybe we can smash it and it'll open, but–" it's just the problem of reaching the end of the hallway without getting killed. she doesn't know how powerful baobhan or anyone is right now after waking up in this facility. her concerned gaze drifts towards the archer behind her, keeping one ear pointed towards the hallway.
" How are you feeling? Does it feel like anything has a block or something on you?"
@fairyknight
● "You're showing me concern when you're the bigger weakling between us?" Baobhan Sith put on airs like she always did when she felt vulnerable. She had put a lot of work into earning her strength back, so to have it all sapped away again was annoying. She hadn't wanted to go back to how she'd felt when she'd first arrived in the city. "I still don't get how you walk around showing so much care for everyone else. I'm the Servant here, I should be the one making sure you're okay."
Of course, she wouldn't do that unless she was feeling charitable. She only selfishly showed affection towards a single person.
"The strategy is obvious, isn't it? I smash the lock and pry open the door when we get there, but in the meantime we get their attention and retreat back through the door we came. Then we let them funnel in through it. You stun them from afar with your Gandr, and I'll tear them into pieces while they're stunned." She would have preferred to be the one fighting at range, but if they were both shooting then the bots would just copy their projectiles and return fire. "If you accidentally hit me, I'll kill you though."
Just a reminder.
@chiikawaacreature
● "Hah? What are you supposed to be? Some sort of fairy? Are you edible, maybe?"
"One of those creatures you shouldn't spill water on or feed after midnight?"
@supremestance
● "A seamstress, huh?" The Servant looked the woman dressed in gold up and down judgmentally until she was satisfied. "Well, I wouldn't be able to assume you were lying with the way you're dressed. Even your taste in shoes..." Maybe it would be fine, then?
"I'm a shoemaker myself. Well, heels specifically. I just run the business out of my home though! I've never dabbled in anything else..."
@robustdragonheart
● "Hey, you! What's with that green-haired pipsqueak you keep having follow you around like a little lost duck? Don't tell me you found a Master?"
"She's a little young, isn't she? She'd totally get squashed if there was some kind of battle!"
thank you tomodachi life for letting me see whose genes win if my ships have children
it's been a while so like this for a small to medium length starter!
"T-...tis a jest!"
"Greg the Worm? I was unaware that the Worm Devil had come back..." She doesn't know if there's a Worm Devil. Did it become...a fiend?
● Worm Devil now? LARP? Was this some sort of LARP? Should she play along?
"Oh, uh... right! Greg the Worm Devil! Said he makes the best fried rice in the city! I think he slithered into the sewer when his shift ended though!" Did the city even have sewers come to think of it?
"Surely 'tis a jest."
"You're saying the Shrimp Devil fried that rice?"
● "Uh... No? Pretty sure some worm named "Greg" fried it based on his nametag?" Shrimp devil?
● "You guys realize it's way easier to just stab someone to death, right? Then the only hole you need is the one you're going to bury them in."
AND THERE'S NO REACTION GIVEN, standing in place, still enough to replicate an actual statue, to make one wonder if he really can't see or if it's his choice to ignore it. well, if you didn't count the fact he's now moved his hand rest a knuckle against his plaster chin in thought. ❝ Certainly. I wouldn't claim to be the first logical thinker to pursue a sequence of patterns. Though that hardly limits my curiosity as to what has them elect candidates for their comings and goings in the moment. ❞ it could be a myriad of things, though one thing was for certain...
❝ Is it an emotional distress or connection? Or perhaps a string of mathematical reasoning that denotes it. Ah, it could even be as simple as entertainment value. Which is to say... for those who tote themselves as entities beyond our reach, it makes them far more fallible than divine, perfected beings. Were the hypothesis true, of course. ❞
● Was he trying to pretend to be a statue? She had some thoughts about this behaviour that she'd yet to utter, but if he got on her nerves then she might. Somehow, if they were choosing people based on their "entertainment value" they wouldn't pick someone that liked to stand around like a statue anyways.
Rather than blurt that out, Baobhan exercised restraint.
"It could just be random, y'know? Like they're just picking names out of a hat or something? Leave it to humans to get a taste of power and do something that stupid with their spare time! I can totally see it!" She spoke like she didn't have a number of unscrupulously bad decisions under her belt as a fairy.
❝ One must wonder what incentivizes our captors to return home one person and not another. ❞ why yes, the man suddenly standing in the middle of the sidewalk with a plaster head is monologuing aloud in the wake of a sudden, missing companion. ❝ Accumulated time spent upon the island does not seem to be taken into consideration when electing candidates for the ensuing eclipses. My two years of stay has not warranted me a trip home, at least none that I recall, and many other have found this place their second home far longer than those who have disappeared. Then what would the shared variable amongst those who are returned be? ❞
● Creepy plaster head, yikes. "I've been here almost five years now, and if they knew what was good for them they would've sent me home a long time ago. If you're looking for some sort of pattern then I doubt you're going to find it. If there was one, someone would have figured it out well before now, right? I highly doubt you're the first one who's tried." The Archer leaned in front of him, waving a hand in front of his head to see if he could even see through that thing.
