i was looking at my old diary and this is a page of writing advice i wrote for myself in 2019… i realised i still need to follow this advice so i scanned it and am making it my phone background now. I don’t know if anyone else is interested in this but i thought i’d post it for fun. Let me know if you want me to add a transcript

PROJECT: RETURN TO WRITING.

-- After such a long gap, now I will approach writing as though I am a beginner. I will re-ground myself in the basics, and construct a better framework to my writing practice.

-- Step 1. Keep a notebook. Write down everything in it. Words, lines, ideas.

-- Everyday, 15 minutes of me routinely showing up to write.

-- Read better-written books -- not so easily digestible and forgettable. Pay attention to every sentence.

-- Allow yourself a degree of inner sensitivity and attunement to beauty. Allow yourself to look at the world, to look at events, more novelistically --instead of forcing practicality at every stage.
