be open and involved in what you’re passionate about. be curious about other people and what they’re up to in a way that is not foundationally self serving. actively step out of your comfort zone and say yes to more things. do the stuff that you’re afraid of failing at. start any project. play an MMO and socialize. and many more ways not listed.

i actually can’t stress enough how particularly important “say yes to more things” is for this. speaking personally the amount of new friends i made in 2025 alone by virtue of just being invited to something and saying yes even if my subconscious was thinking of ways to get out of it has been genuinely life changing.
