this is my doodle world fandom blog, my main is @chimeradrill! this is a TJ focused blog because he is awesome and i like him. i post art, analysis, and general rambles about doodle world whenever i have something to say about this game, which is quite often. if you're looking for something specific, you're free to browse my list of tags!

- i guess if you really want to, you can interact if you're the kind of person who hates/dislikes TJ, but you guys especially should keep in mind that this is my space, my posts are not made for you, and this is not a safe place for you to state your opinions. hate and negativity towards TJ is already plentiful and unavoidable in this fandom and you would be invading a safe space by perpetuating all that slander. have some common sense and be respectful.

- fandom isn't a competition, it's meant to be for fun. i'm not the "#1 TJ fan", i'm not an expert at anything, i did not write doodle world, i'm not an authority on anything, and neither are you. just because i'm a huge fan of a character that doesn't mean i'm trying to claim i'm smarter or better than you, and you should never feel discouraged to be a TJ enthusiast yourself just because i exist. that being said, i've been playing doodle world for three years. TJ is still my hyperfixation and if there is any canon or fanon information, theories, or know-how about him, assume i probably know it already.

while this blog will be mostly silly because i am a silly individual at my core, i'm also quite transparent about my not so fun experiences in this fandom as a TJ fan, and i will speak about it at times. it's honestly already hard enough for me to be on here, so just try not to make it harder for me. just like anyone else, i'm here to have fun, and i tag ships and negativity and such to stay courteous to everyone who views my blog, and all i ask is to be treated with that same basic respect and consideration in return.

its not really a secret that i and plenty others see TJ as a pretty suicidal person,

...okay if you've never heard that i swear there is good reason to believe it LMAO. i will be running with that interpretation of his character for this post!

but i admit that because of that presumption i've been stumped on what to make of the whole alchemists hideout situation or even the zavier scene... until its hit me just now what exactly was going on there, and i feel extremely stupid for not realizing this sooner.

TJ does feel his life is meaningless and feels he has no reason to be here. if he died he would be deeply regretful but ultimately felt like it was the expected outcome for him to die as a nobody, a total failure in everything. he joined the key hunt to at least give himself a chance at becoming someone important, and a chance at giving his life meaning.

but then he meets player. he loses to them continuously. and, whether he realizes it or not, theyve given him something he desperately wants to strive for and KNOWS he can achieve, taking life into his own hands again for possibly the first time in a long time. and, crucially, he not only wants to stay alive but NEEDS to.

suddenly a man who's had so little faith in himself and near given up on himself has become someone actively running from death or being killed. seeking answers he once thought to be a mirage, now feeling like theyre something tangible. refusing to die laying down. someone who wont go down unless hes taking player with him by the ankles. player made him want to live, if only to prove he can.

like. i just keep thinking about how when TJ was pleading for his life in the arid mines or it dawning on him that he is actually going to die in that hideout, very possibly at least one of the thoughts at the forefront of his mind (especially during icyridge) is

"i cant die here, i havent proven myself to player yet!"

TJ finally beats player in a doodle battle and hes gloating about it thinking theyre gonna sulk and be sad but instead of that he then sees them Actually Smiling for the first time ever and it shocks him to his core

i admit i am getting wary whenever people vaguepost about a fandom being 'full of drama' because a lot of people seem to use 'drama' as a synonym for like. discussions of bigotry and bias in media. which is so very much not the same thing and it hurts my head to see it conflated with shipping wars and headcanon discourse.

never played the update (derogatory) so this is my first time seeing lakewood town after the revamp i love the doodles standing around its so cute

i never took much interest in a potential zombie apocalypse au because theres not really anything too interesting there that the original story doesnt already do well but after listening to YARARARA ive been thinking hard about it..... at the very least the aesthetic and setting of zombie aus is GREAT so i really want to make it interesting in some way.....

quincy is the ONLY one out of everyone in doodle gang who i absolutely think wouldnt be as chill with players quiet nature compared to TJ and suzie who were accepting pretty much immediately and arent snappy at them about it because well, theres nothing wrong with it. i imagine even icyridge TJ would never even consider players quiet nature being a point of ridicule because its so normal to him at that point, and again, nothing wrong with it.

i think this is a big part of the reason why i especially enjoy their dynamic with each other because it is fun to imagine quincy becoming more tolerable of them as time goes on. quincy is extremely impatient and doesnt get what theyre always so anxious about. for him, TJ and suzie are at least possible to converse with and both also have goals and ambitions that drive them that make up for their financial state. players weird and unusual and entire unambitious and just wants to stay inside all day and exactly the kind of commoner he imagined he would want to stay away from the most. and still he's drawn towards them more than anyone else
