Hi everyone! im mari and the purpose of this blog is to share my silly little underground music artists and idol groups i like. this blog is not affiliated in anyway with the groups i post but i will hopefully be sharing pictures or info about japanese artists you don’t know about! i hope to broaden your horizons a little bit!

this is just a sideblog but i am going to try to be as consistent as i can be with this. my main is @amaribelt please check out my rentry here

An idol update, Courtesea member Marin graduated a bit ago with them their newest album cover for umbrella story reflects this change, although it’s sad to see Marin go i’m glad they are still pursuing music and stream Umbrella story by Courtesea

sorry for no idol posts school started and i was constantly at work so i feel behind on my spreadsheet and research and might be for a bit until i can get enough to schedule for a week or so, not an idol but i found her demo and i really like it and think she has a lot of potential:D

they are under the same agency as Kuusou Moment L+ (空想モーメントL+) an idol group i beleive i posted the other day, HiMENT is one of the successor groups made for project-L made by their record agency SUNHALO MUSIC

this is a group i don’t have much information on yet but is a group i’ve been following for a bit as i found a fan page a while back, but definitely will post again when i find out more!

today is 8/4! todays idol group is Akiba Kamen with one of the best concepts ive seen, an idol group to promote voting.

in 2016 japan lowered the voting age from 20 to 18, in order to promote voting among young people japanese agency "Alice Project" made formed the group to help bring intrest to vote. the quote below is from the alice wiki as the website is down

"The 2016 summer, the voting age for national elections will likely be lowered to 18 from the current 20.

To increase voter turnout of young Japanese, the unit was formed in the hope that young Japanese have a interest in politics.

The name is ‘Akiba Kamen’. Forming around Sakura Yuki who graduated from Tokyo University, they hold up the main theme「Let’s go to the polls」and will continue to deliver messages to young Japanese! A former member of the House of Representatives and a former governor of Miyazaki Prefecture, Higashikokubaru Hideo is also supporting them.

It will be the first House of Councilors election on July since the voting age for national elections will likely be lowered to 18 from the current 20.・ Focusing on the new age, how a voter turnout will end up?"

i wasnt able to figure out if they were able to increase voter turn out from 2016 but i figured this was a silly entry so i thought i would add this, they only have one song that i could find 'Senkyo Ikou Ze! (選挙いこうぜ！; Let’s Go to the Polls)'

although innactive and listed as a former group they are still listed on the website.

wanting to be open and honest with those intrested with the idols i post about, i have a spread sheet i have been working on with a list of idol groups to post about i am currently still makin my way though the list to pick the idols that pique my intrest. of those idols i have on my list i have to then compile the music into a playlist to eventually use and post about.

the problem is is alot of these idols groups dont have music a spotify youtube or soundcloud linked so i would have to try find reuploads from third partys like audience members recording.

because of this i am having to use the few idols that inspired me to make this blog as i already have theirs songs and know alot about them.

Megu is a member of the idol group Negicco as well as a DJ and radio host, she married Negiccos former live drummer in 2020.

its hard to find information on them as i dont have instagram but the duo formed in 2018 and from what i can see they stopped producing music sometime in 2020 when they released their most recent single 'lyrical dance/A.S.C'

100-yokai is one of the most unique girl groups ive found recently hence why they are the first group ive posted since my hiatus. alot of information on the group is difficult to find with my mediocre japanese and lots of official websites for small groups being taken down as of late and struggleing to find archives but the girls have an 'monster concept' with the girls having a monster girl they represent.

They were active from 2020-2024 with their debut on august of 2020, and disbanded after two members said they were disinterested in continueing idol activites and the rest not wanting to start over again.

their sound is really unique combining some sounds of traditional japanese music and fast paced idol pop music, a very fitting combination of an idol group that combines traditional japanese folklore and the popular concept of japanese idol groups.

100-yokai music video 妖怪KAIKAIご紹介! was posted on Dec 16, 2021 with an astounding 18k views! their were 48 100-yokai videos posted but none of them managed to beat their initial success, with most videos gaining a few hundred views and the more popular ones gaining 1.5k on average.

Former members of 100-yokai have joined other idol groups or have moved onto other entertainment venues like streaming.

Daily song and idol groups will resume with the new school year, i have spent this time trying to make this progress easier but it is still hard for me as i have a job and am going to my last year of school, i work hard to bring some lesser known idol groups to you so they can light up your life just like they have mine.
