Fandom staff just removed me from admin/owner of the old Fifth City site, citing their "forking policy" - of which I was never informed, but it does specify that departing admins will be removed from the Fandom side of a fork. In other words, since I was the only admin at that point, Fandom has taken control of the old wiki.

As such, the Fandom side of the wiki is officially no longer being maintained. You can continue to find us here: https://thefifthcity.wiki

The Fifth City Wiki has escaped the clutches of Fandom!

I'm delighted to announce that just in time for our tenth birthday (today!), the Fifth City Wiki has finally migrated away from Fandom! You can visit the new and improved wiki here: https://thefifthcity.wiki

With the migration comes a number of new features for readers and editors alike, including: light and dark mode, tidier and more customizable spoiler warnings, hidden/click-to-show spoiler text functionality (like TVTropes' spoiler feature), new and improved interactive maps, a beautiful suite of background artwork by Sevenix, and a refreshing lack of advertisement banners. Further background art and maps will be added over time. An enormous thank you to the people who helped make this happen on the technical side: Nyalan, CarrONoir, Asarta, Bluesidra, FlamingKetchup, and JmeJuniper (Hannah)!

okay controversial take. fallen london and the expanded setting is like the opposite of homestuck lore. homestuck is like a frog boiling in water, where if you read along, all the wild twists make perfect sense in the order you're exposed to it. it's only if you approach it from a larger perspective (like trying to explain it to a newcomer) that it comes across batshit.

fallen london never stops having those moments even if you have been here the whole time and consumed the entire wiki and three games worth of lore. sometimes you've been here for years and still get sucker punched by "what do you mean, the gods' true foe is eye-eating spiders". it never stops.
