Closure: Looking for Alaska
I feel like there’s a part of Alaska in all of us, the 3am party girl or the quiet girl who’s lost in her own thoughts, the popular girl that seems like she’s got it all, the moody bitch in class that has trust issues, the bookworm that’s always sprouting beautiful words. Or maybe it’s you, whoever you are, there’s a part of Alaska inside you too, maybe you hide her or maybe you display her with pride.
it’s just at the end of the day nobody knows what she really goes home to, I mean everyone has got issues, right? It’s not just you and me. It’s everyone. I mean Alaska has made me aware that I should be glad, even if there’s a part of her in me. I am not her completely. She is like Pandora’s box. all these people and emotions pushed into one soul. And she couldn’t bear it.
I mean she’s first seen as this bubbly, spontaneous girl who just reels you into her life, she’s always got an adventure ready. But come 3am she’s lonely, she’s the “you” whose crying and nobody seems to give a shit, the universe is against her, in her mind. And she’s taught me that despite it all, no matter how hard it gets, DONT give up. Because there are people who DO matter, and maybe not at that moment, but you DO have people who LOVE you, and you will meet new people who you will love too.
So don’t be like Alaska Young, don’t run away when all seems vain, stay strong and fight, fight for your last breath, for life and friends and think of everything you DESERVE, everything you HAVE, think of everything that has shaped you into “you” and be proud of yourself. Of everything you’ve accomplished because there’s nobody else in the world exactly like “you”. No matter how hard they try to be, you are your own person.
So hold your head high and remember, you have so much life and energy inside you, so many dreams and memories to make.
Don’t let your past and guilt and regrets make your decisions for you.
