etymology /

More likely Rowling n refers to Mulciber, a character in John Milton's Paradise Lost, a story based on mankind falling into sin and the struggle of heaven and hell. Mulciber was a fallen angel who is the architect of Pandemonium, the capital of Hell and home to the demons' council.

I think a lot of why Mulciber gets to act out,   gets to do whatever he wants without his family reprimanding him,    to get to be friendly to whomever was entertaining to him - pureblood or not, -      &  let’s not forget his making Severus a close friend of his because he knew    & understood the ambition to be just as great but always having to put in more effort than the rest just because you lacked something as simple as blood purity or a famous surname.  Despite all the things his family had done for the cause,  despite all the favours his family has with the other elite families.   He wouldn’t say it,    but it definitely frustrated Ezra a great deal,   and that was probably what prompted him to attack Mary’s,   he wanted Voldemort to notice them,    to give them credit.   Instead he got the mark.   Which,  he should’ve been happy with,  but instead always feeling like he needed more.  Like that wasn’t enough for him.

* was just informed that the sacred 28 is a generalized thing and not a death eater thing.  oops.  But it still stands that does want his name up there because the Sacred 28 marauder era kids in Slytherin used that to set themselves apart,  they were the elites of the elites in a time where War was starting because of blood purity.

how apt it should be that the youngest wore poise so well, her crystalline manners waxed to a shine FIT for fairytales. ( she’s like a princess, that one. much different than the others. i heard blahblahblah  ) THAT was the reason he stayed far from her orbit, repudiated like a magnet met with with its other half. alas, not everything followed what his nature decreed as he stood before the youngest with a critical gaze surveying the countenance she offered. He had positioned himself that stopped her from easily leaving, his blond head canted forwards in a way that seemed awkward and much too intimate in nature; he was hiding in plain sight. He’d only hoped she’d play along.
