Sleipnir nodded. At least they could agree on that. Sleipnir did not want to be killed, and Kayden did not want to kill him.

Sleipnir nodded when the other tested the ropes. "Good." When the other agreed to being tucked in Sleipnir was taken aback a little. He was joking about the ideal but - how could he say no now?

Sleipnir helped the other to lad down, finding a blanket and putting it over the other. Tucking it around the younger man so it did not slip off in the night. Sleipnir adjusted his head, looking to Kayden now.

"When should I come and check on you?" It wasn't a question of if he should check on Kayden. Only when. He hesitated - stopping himself from brushing his hand over the others ropped together hands.

Kayden let out a quiet laugh, shaking his head against the pillow. "I was kidding about the tucking me in part, you know." His gaze followed Sleipnir's movements anyway, amusement softening into something warmer as he looked up at him. "Not that I'm complaining." He lifted his bound hands slightly before letting them settle back against his chest.

"And you don't have to keep checking on me every five minutes either. I'm tied up, drugged..well alcohol in me, and buried under enough blankets to survive a blizzard. I think you've done your job." Kayden tilted his head, studying the hesitation in the other man's expression. "If you're worried, stay for a while. Sit down. Talk to me. That's probably better than pacing around and checking on me every half hour."

A small smile at the corner of his mouth."Besides, if I somehow manage to escape all this, I think that'll be impressive enough that you'll hear about it immediately."

"Don't pull that bullshit on me." She said sharply. "I'll pour salt in your wound." She threatened.

"Okay. Okay." He said with a hiss to his voice. Not wanting salt on his wound. "I was putting a victim out of her misery and she attacked me."

"Yeah and I'm going to keep talking." Brice replied. Her eyes flicked up at him briefly before returning to her work. "So what did it? Or who?" She asked.

Kayden didn't care if she kept talking. It helped keep his mind off the pain. "A blade." Saying softly, not going into any details of it.

"Not like this?" Sleipnir asked but it was a given. They were...strange. Not together but...something close to it. So he hoped. He saw so much of himself in Kayden. Maybe in a different lifetime Kayden is who he would have become. Maybe he could be saved. And then maybe he can be justfied in being saved all those years ago.

I like you. Sleipnir couldn't help himself but smile, warm but - small. He tried to keep it to himself, save the other any ill feeling.

"I like you too. I wouldn't like to be killed by you." He took a sip of his drink. His eyes felt heavy again. The adrenaline finally leaving his body and sleep forcing its way into his chest. He finished up his drink and cigarette, easing to his feet and stretching, holding onto the railing when his leg siezed up for a few seconds. "Ugh-" He finally let go. "Alright. Let's give it a go." Sleipnir took the rope from his stash, having Kayden lay down on his bed. "Trust me?" He asked, but given how seriously things could get, he began to cover the other with the rope. He tied a simple but strong knot around his ankles, giving it a tug to make sure it would not move. "Not too tight?" He asked, hand resting on the outside of his leg. "Okay...hands together." He looped over the rope, wrapping it around and securing it in a tight, tight knot. "How is that?" "Want me to tuck you in?"

He finished his beverage and cigarette. Trying to keep himself at ease when he said that he liked him back. What did that mean? That he shared the same feelings? Would he go further with him? Watching as he stumbled by the railing. "I don't want to kill you."

Kayden watched him carefully through the entire thing, quieter now than he usually was. There was still humor in him somewhere deep down but he kept that to himself. The ropes tightened around his wrists and ankles, secure without hurting, and Kayden tested them only lightly before settling back against the bed again. His eyes followed every movement Sleipnir made. At the question, he flexed his hands once against the rope and shook his head a little. "No. It’s fine. Tight, but fine."

Then the last question made his expression shift again. "Yeah, maybe a little." Saying under his breath, the guy didn't want to freeze. It was uncomfortable but it was only for his safety.

Jr. raised his phone and took a picture of the sight before him, a smirk playing on his lips. "Until you stop pissing me off." He said. "Then again, I do quite like living so it might not be best to let you go."

Slightly confused as to why he took a picture of him. But at the same time didn't think much of it. "Fuck you." He said under his breath. Wrists bleeding from all the tugging and pulling. Like an Indian burn sensation. "You can't keep me here forever."

Sleip turned back to look at Kayden when he spoke. He frowned softly at the question. "...after a smoke." He nodded.

Sleipnir grabbed his cigarettes and lighter, and two beers from the fridge. He unlocked the front door, flipping the switch and heading out onto the small porch. Beyond the light of the porch there was nothing. Just darkness of the woods and the stillness and quiet of the night. It must have been late in the night. Or early in the morning. Sleipnir would be getting up soon enough. He liked the sunrise. Gave him purpose above all else. Get up. See the sun. Everything else was just...an afterthought.

He twisted the lid off his bottle, offering the other to Kayden. "...ain't got no handcuffs. But I can restrain you." He explained. "...you sure that it's necessary? I would...prefer not to." But he would also like to live. "Have you...had this problem before? You know, when you lived with other people...if...you've lived with other people?"

Kayden followed him out onto the porch, pausing near the doorway as his eyes drifted toward the endless dark beyond the light. The woods felt too quiet. Too still. It made the knot in his stomach tighten. He accepted the beer with a quiet mutter of thanks, fingers cold against the bottle. At Sleipnir’s question, Kayden let out a short breath through his nose, almost like a humorless laugh. “I haven’t really lived with other people before,” he admitted after a moment. “Not like this.”

Staying silent then realizing that he didn't have cuffs but could restrain him another way. Taking a drink from his beer then. "I don't want to risk killing you. I like you." He admitted. "Anyone else would have called the police on me."

Sleipnir could only nod at that. "...alright." He helped himself to clean up the bathroom. But the things away, put the knife elsewhere. He couldn't sleep. Not for a while anyway. He was settling with the sting in his arm and seeing if Kayden could go back to sleep so soon.

"I'm gonna go for a smoke." and perchance a whiskey to help him go back to sleep. A well deserved night cap. He would ask in the morning but for now - he just had to hope the other would not have a repeat nightmare so soon

That's it? Kayden thought to himself. 'alright' ? Looking up at Sleipnir he watched as he cleaned the bathroom and take the knife away. "You don't happen to have handcuffs, do you?..." He asked still looking in his direction. "Maybe restraining me will help me from trying to kill you." Shrugging his shoulders lightly. "After a smoke."

Brice tsked at him. "Stop being a baby. If you weren't getting into serial killer nonsense, this wouldn't have happened." She said as she stuck the needle into his skin, attempting to sew the gash on his arm. She didn't know what she was doing.

GENTLE PSA; the best way to interact with me is through memes. you could send that thing @ me even though i’ve posted it five months ago and i’d still answer and appreciate it. it’s hard to think up starters out of the blue unless they’re plotted, but memes are just good and gives you a general idea of what’s happening. so please, if you see a meme on my blog, SEND THE MEME.

Sleipnir watched over Kaydens work, checking it in the mirror. It wasn't half bad. Given the other sliced at him, he considered the issue done now.

Sleip continued to clean the other up, finally changing to the towel, drying him up in the process. "I'm not trying to berate you, Kayden. I just want to understand." He didn't want to stress the other out. This was mean to be the opposite of this.

"...did he deserve it? Your dad, I mean." Sleipnir asked the other, again, curious and also wanting to understand.

It always felt like a competition when it came to Sleip. He was older, taller...could easily dominate Kayden if he actually tried. Ignoring his little comment about not trying to berate him. Not making eye contact in that moment, rubbing his own arm briefly in thought. "Yeah. He did." Saying softly, barely audible.

"if you hold still, it wouldn't hurt as much." Briar to Kayden

"It fucking hurts!" He called out, "How much more?"

Sleips touch softened further, thumb grazing the younger mans jaw. "It's okay - hey-" He half shook him. "Look, I'm fine. And so are you." He leant forward, pressing a kiss to his forehead before swinging a leg off of Kayden, extending a hand to help him to his feet. "Come on." He nodded, taking Kaydens hand and bringing him to his bathroom. He went through his first aid kit, setting it out and taking a seat on the edge of the bathtub. He inspected it under the light, a sense of calm about him. "Were you dreaming about anything?" He worked on getting his wound cleaned, wiping at the surface till the blood calmed. "Here. Open this for me." He handed the man a thicker plaster, waiting patiently for the other to do as he said. "Lay it over top." He offered his arm for the other before reaching for the bandage. "Wrap this around. And tuck the tail in...that's it."

Once it was done he checked it over before nodding. "That will be fine." He looked over at the other, reaching to touch his jaw again, directing his eyes to him. "Are you okay?" He noted the blood on both of them. "Hold on." He ran the water, soaking a flannel and began to clean the blood off of him slowly. "What do you think set you off?"

Kayden's breath hitched like he was realizing that he was awake and not dreaming. Then looking back at Sleips with almost scared eyes. Catching his breath when his leg got off of him then. Taking the older man's hand walking to the bathroom. Staying silent when he first asked the question. "Killing my dad." He finally said coldly. Then just doing what he said, bandaging him up like a nurse would.

Looking at it now and then back to him. "I'm fine." His voice was hoarse this time. Letting him clean the blood off of him. "I don't know, okay?" Kayden said lowly.

Sleips hold on him changed when he heard the clatter of the knife. His hand came to the others shoulder, shaking him with a look of anger. "What the hell were you thinking?! Do you know what I could have done-" Sleip sighed, forcing himself to calm, frowning when he felt the wet of his own blood on the others body. "Are you hurt?" Sleipnir let go of him completely, moving his hand over the patch of blood, finding no wound.

Only then remembering the swipe against his own shoulder, turning his head to look at it, a clean slice across his flesh, blood gently soaked into the shirt he was wearing, gently dripping wherever he lay.

"Shit..." He grumbled, pulling at his shirt sleeve to pull off the shirt, throwing it away and inspecting the wound. It wasn't deep - thankfully. But may need to be cleaned and wrapped to stop the slow bleeding.

"Kayden?" He reached for the others face, cupping his face with both hands to direct his face to him. "Talk to me, what's goin on?"

Kayden flinched at the touch, not pulling away but not leaning into it either. His breathing was uneven, like he was trying to force it back under control and failing. Eyes darting down to the knife where it lay discarded like it belonged to someone else entirely. “I didn’t even...Sleip, I wasn’t thinking straight.” He muttered, hot and sweaty on his face and neck.

When Sleipnir cupped his face, Kayden finally looked at him properly, eyes a little wild but softening as reality started to settle back in. “I’m not hurt,” he said quickly, almost too quick. Then quieter, “You are.” His gaze dropped to the slice across Sleipnir’s shoulder, and his throat worked like he was swallowing something sharp. “Shit,” he echoed faintly, voice cracking on the word. Watching as the man above him took off his shirt.

"I think...I blacked out.."

Sleipnir slept heavier then he was used to. But the cold feel of something finally stirred him. His eyes opened, blinking when heard his own name. His eyes snapped, focusing on the shape of Kayden in the dark of the room. He didn't move, did not want to give the other a reason to strike. "Kayden-"

The blade had moved too quickly and Sleipnir hissed, sharp and angry as cooled blood hit his arm. "Kayden-" Sleipnir grabbed the others arm, shifting his weight to throw the other onto the bed, pinning his wrist with his good arm. "Drop it." He grunted, using his weight advantage and training to try and disarm Kayden. Blood began to drop on the others chest from his wound, the icy sting of the cut pulsing in the back of his head.

Kayden froze the second Sleipnir’s hand locked around his wrist. For a moment, he still fought it instinct more than intent, breath sharp and uneven in the dark. The knife trembled in his grip, not steady enough to be confident, not firm enough to mean it. His fingers loosened and the blade dropped. Kayden went still under him, breath uneven, eyes wide but unfocused now like he was only just realizing where he was, and what he’d done.

The older man was in a dominance stance above him still. Kayden submitted, doing what he was told. Catching his breath, not freaking out that his blood was dripping onto his chest. His wrist stopped resisting in Sleipnir’s grip, surrendering.

Sleipnir has the sneaking suspicion that he had done the wrong thing. He nodded, side stepping to leave and let the other shower before finally putting the pieces together.

"Kayden?" Sleipnir asked, calling the others attention before leaning over. He kissed the other on the mouth. Not hard but - intentional. This was not platonic. It was...something else. He didn't know if he could name it but, it was certainly that.

He pulled back, watching the other for a moment before giving a soft nod. "...call if you need anything." He slipped out of the bathroom, sighing as he went to clear the kitchen and head towards bed. Trying not to think of his new roommate too much.

Kayden froze the second Sleipnir leaned in, the kiss catching him completely off guard. It wasn’t rushed or messy just enough to leave his chest tight and his thoughts tangled. By the time Sleipnir pulled away, Kayden was still staring at him like he hadn’t quite processed what had happened. It was all mixed signals for him. His lips parted slightly, wanting to say something, but nothing came out fast enough before the other slipped away.

“…Right.” He finally muttered to the empty bathroom doorway. Dismissing himself, he had taken a shower, just to keep his mind at ease. Changing into clothes that he had packed. Sitting on the bed an arm wrapped around his legs that were pulled to his chest. Silence.

After a couple of hours of this he had moved from the bed grabbing what knife he had on him and going to the other's bedroom. Just holding it and then putting it to the man's throat. "Sleip." He called him. Cut him just a little on the shoulder instead of the neck. It was bloody but not life threatening. Kayden was heated, and it was clear he wasn't thinking straight.
