eight years of buckandeddie (x.)
matt and foggy is so monumentally fucked up… they told matt “here, you get your soulmate and the love of your life 2-in-1 deal but he’s gonna die before you turn 40 and you’re gonna live in pain and unspeakable grief forever and ever until you die and go straight to hell probably”
mattfoggy has the funniest framing they’re literally just like. what if two guys in the most intense lifelong partnership you’ve ever seen regularly had marital problems and divorced each other every 3 months because one was cheating on the other (with vigilantism). what if one indulged in his addiction (beating the shit out of people) behind the other’s back and then lied to his face repeatedly by distracting him with sex (pro bono law cases). eventually he’s always found out and the cheater is trying he’s really trying here but he needs help (doesn’t want it) working through his traumatic childhood experiences (drafted as an orphaned nine year old to fight zombie ninjas) before he can grow (he doesn’t)
vibrating with the idea of foggy coming back and matt instantly recognizing his heartbeat and hardcore touching and smelling him like a dog and crying big fat tears and the reunion of all time but knowing disney will 110% not deliver in any way whatsoever
also the fact that eddie brought chris to keep buck company while they took care of the house. yes it's about trusting christopher and letting him be in the loop for the difficult moments but it's also about eddie showing buck that even when he doesn't feel like himself, even when he doesn't trust himself, eddie will always trust him to be around christopher. there's nothing buck would do that could stop eddie from letting christopher see him, especially when he needs to be comforted.
buck and chris playing cards is so important to me btw. buck being open and honest with christopher the way he always is, and chris responding very maturely! the fact that chris is able to find a way to empathise with buck, 'it sucks when they touch your stuff', the intersection between the way addicts and disabled people have their autonomy taken away. the way that chris clearly knows what's going on, because buck and eddie told him, because they're a family and they trust him with this, with something big and scary, because it's his buck, and he deserves to know.
Eu tava pensando aqui e meio que explica muito...

i found them.
buddie is so cool. you’d think that mr frat boy rebel kid steals-fire-engines-to-fuck-in-them buck buckley would be the bad influence on mr military silver star single father ballroom dance champion eddie diaz. but in reality it’s mr illegal fight club changes-a-tyre-with-a-boot-on-it “we don’t need a key we’re firefighters” eddie diaz dragging mr loves baking loves kids goes-crazy-for-rules-and-clipboards buck buckley into shenanigans with him. beautiful <3
characters in their 30's and older exploring their sexuality and discovering themselves beyond their teens and twenties is so important and beautiful and worth telling
if we disregard the crossover the transition from 9x12 to 9x13 is genuinely so beyond devastating. buck's entire conversation with maddie is foreshadowing for what he's gonna have to do in 9x13.
"that's what families do. no matter how hard it is or how far apart they are. they find a way home. even if they have to fight like hell to get there." buck is going to be kidnapped and tortured and have no idea if eddie made it out alive or maybe even be told that eddie died on impact. and he's gonna have to somehow find the will to live because if eddie's dead then he's gonna have to crawl on hands and knees to get to Los angeles and Christopher if that's what it takes
