Walkin’ in a Winter Wasteland
As snow begins to fall on the Midwest Commonwealth, those in settlements across Minnesota scramble to prepare for the impending winter.
From the ruins of Twin City to the far reaches of the Northern Lakes territory- there is a silent panic as people begin to fortify their homes, scavenge for last minute medical supplies, and check the food stores that they slaved all season to acquire.
Caravan traders have hired on extra protection. The bitter cold has made raiders desperate; anyone with a brahamin and skill with a gun can expect to be fairly compensated with their choice of payment: caps, chems, or supplies.
The raiders are not the only ones made aggressive by the cold.
Yao Guai and Deathclaws can be seen wandering farther and farther into Twin City in search of food- now those who occupy the remaining skyways and tunnels must stay on their toes with both ears open.
Some of those lucky enough to have lined their radiation suits with fur will have to venture out into the white winter wastes; without the protection they are unlikely to survive. Some will not return regardless.
Not all is so bleak however.
Children of the common wealth can be seen hanging hand made ornaments on MutFruit trees as mothers and fathers sing along with the once loved Christmas songs of prewar America. They tell tales of a jolly ghoul in a red suit who braved the radioactive snow to bestow gifts upon the hard working survivors.
This is a time when human and ghoul alike must put aside their differences to survive.
Because Winter.. Winter never changes..
