All in a Dayâs Work [GTOP]
Another blow from the staff and the man's skull gave a sharp crack, followed by a dull squish. As the body collapsed to the ground, Jiyong had to actually pull the weapon free from his victim's head. "Tch, that looks painful," he commented before looking in the direction of his victim's cohorts. "I mean, I'm assuming it does," he added with a laugh. "So who's next?" Jiyong enticed, hearing their steps began to slowly recede.
As far as he was aware there were four of them. That's what the settlement had told them at least. They came once a week and took nearly all their supplies on each visit. When one of the settlers stood up to them, she was killed and that was when the small settlement had had enough. The request had come to them only days afterwards, and the pair had made their way there to offer their protection.
Jiyong had tried to be diplomatic at first, but when one of the raiders pulled a gun, Jiyong had no option but to protect himself. Now, however, he was just going to rid the wasteland of a few more pieces of trash.
Jiyong allowed his staff to slide out of his hand, as far as he could before swiping it low to the ground, catching the feet of the fleeing raiders. Jiyong made swift work of them. His movements were fluid and artistic as he made a few more perfectly executed attacks. He paused, listening for any sound of movement, but he heard nothing. He lowered his staff and took a deep breath. He rubbed his hand across his face, trying to determine how much of their blood might have gotten on him.
It appeared that he had no idea that one of the men was still, although barely, conscious. The raider was reaching for his gun as Jiyong tapped his staff against the side of his boot to try and get as much blood and guts off of it as he could.
