remember when racist "joke" accounts put in literally any effort at all?
let's count all the red flags, shall we?
1. "whitemisia". didn't even bother to find a way to make it less obviously white supremacist shit with the immediate implication that the opposite is "colormisia" and not racism. though to their credit, they at least knew "reverse racism" would be too obvious.
2. taboowinters is the most obvious bait blog you will ever see. it only posted for maybe a month or so about "winterqueer" and, i shit you not, "transwhite". there has never been as more obvious bait.
3. the entire "winterpunk" part is one red flag after another. trying to destigmatize pride in being white is a pretty clear fascist dog whistle. "white pride" is just white supremacy in a suit and tie instead of a pointy hood.
4. speaking of white supremacist dog whistles; so are white guilt and racial anxiety. these are both terms used by white supremacists, both used to signify that the only way a white person cares about people of color is because of guilt or fear of being viewed as racist. and not because people of color are people and they should not be made to suffer or struggle because of it.
5. sheyoves has since been deactivated and deleted (likely to make archival of this shit difficult), but what remains makes it clear they were also a sockpuppet dedicated to being racist, including "trans racial" identities.
6. "anti transmed, neutral radqueer" is very broad, almost nonsensical. those are two very opposed ideologies; "you must have physician consent and input to transition" vs "you can literally be transblack!" this is likely because the creator of this blog has no fucking idea what any of these words mean beyond an abstract of "this one's bad"
7. the "pro-palestine, neutral shipcourse" bit is wildly inconsistent. opposing an ongoing genocide is not remotely relevant to shipping discourse. putting the two here is only to imply they share something (in this case, likely that the creator of this blog thinks they're not equally "cringe" things to care about).
8. another point; the pro- list is there to implicate these groups/their supporters into the racist ideas they're spouting, or to make it seem inconsistent and incoherent on its face.
9. the implication that "whitemisia" doesn't promote racial supremacy is absolutely a dog whistle. white supremacists think that the lack of racism as a concept targeting white people implies racial superiority. this is obviously not true, as it's because white people, almost as a rule, wield drastically more power and influence over people of color the world over.
10. the linked blogs are there to instill a connection to the reader. "you made up problems so i did too!"
11. the mods names are all "white". aeryn (aryan) is a common term white supremacists use to refer to "pure" white people, leuco/leuko is white, usually meaning white blood cells (which fight infection and invasion...you know, a thing white supremacists think people of color are doing), and ivory (which is likely linked to ivory salesmen; poachers who kill african elephants to steal their tusks). these aren't dog whistles, they're fucking sirens.
12. each "mod" is loaded with dog whistles. aeryn, on top of the name, says "paleskinned french". suddenly white isn't okay to say? but the implication is "paleskinned = not white".
13. "1/8th native blood" is a dog whistle. blood quantum is often used to exclude people with "too much" indigenous heritage from their own groups, while also being used to convince other people they don't have "enough" to be anything but white (to separate them from their culture).
14. not to mention 1/8th is a suspiciously accurate fraction... with 1/8 being a big nazi dog whistle for AH, who you can probably guess who that refers to.
15. "working class russian brit" is mostly innocuous empty "white", with the exception that it's clearly trying to play to class solidarity, while playing to the idea that "russian bots aren't real lol" as a defense
16. but the "tme" here and nothing else about transfeminism or transmisogyny is likely because they know this will raise eyebrows, and who better to implicate than trans women i fucking guess, by using our terminology amidst the dog whistles.
17. irish-italian is a convenient combination of groups whose whiteness was very conditional at the turn of the century. white supremacists love bringing this up to imply racism isn't real (and/or skin color has nothing to do with it).
18. the 1/4th german is another huge one. the 14 words are a huge nazi thing.
19. also interesting to note: "1/4th german" but "1/8th native blood". because blood quantum is about indigenous people, not germans.
20. "minor" in bold is meant to make you hesitant to call them out. "well i don't want to be mean to a kid..." also note the disabled mod who might not respond, and the working class brit who might be asleep when americans send asks.
so, yeah, i can say with near certainty this is a white supremacist dog whistle blog explicitly designed to catch up young people with good intentions but maybe not a whole lot of lived experience (or, more sinister, to convince them it's "okay" to be concerned about anti white racism)
this is the stuff that i can't be sure was intentional, but i'm also not going to be giving benefit of a doubt about.
first; the complete lack of acknowledging colorism, coined by alice walker in the early 80s, which already describes the complexities of racism with regards to light skinned people of color. most notably how darker skinned people tend to suffer more. so including "white passing" and "light skinned poc" in anti-white racism 2 is a telling lack of research done, at the very least.
another possible coincidence is the weird line break in the description of whitemisia at exactly 14 words in, followed by 8 more words.
