This Oscar winning actor/musician and his brother lived in Haiti during their childhood and this is what he had to say about their experience :
"9:50 P.M. Los Angeles. On the plane to Haiti: It’s a last minute trip, but I’ve been thinking about it for years. Decades actually. This is a bit of a return for me, as I was fortunate to live in Haiti when I was a kid. It was a relatively short period of time, but it had a profound impact on my life. For a young man about to embark on his teenage years, the exposure to a world as exotic and dynamically different to anything I had ever seen was nothing short of mind blowing. It was the early 80s, Baby Doc (Jean-Claude Duvalier) was the dictator du jour, Ronald Reagan was pushing his trickle down policies, and America was the seemingly unstoppable superpower that dominated the world. That year, so long ago, I began an edventure to a place I don’t think I had even heard of at the time. HAITI. Even the name sounded magical. But nothing prepared me for what I experienced when I landed in Port-au-Prince. I’m filled with curiosity and questions as I sit on the plane floating through the night, approaching once again, this beautiful and challenged land."
...who is he?
