Surrender to an Irish Warrior by Michelle Willingham (MacEgan #6)

The story of two broken souls connecting making them live instead of just surviving. Trahern MacEgan loses sight of his future when his fiance dies during a Viking raid. He sees revenge as a goal, to find those that was responsible. His path crosses that of Morren O'Reilly, who suffered also during that same raid. He saves her when she was having a hardship of miscarriage. Further revelation informs him that she was pregnant because of the attack she suffered during the raid, making her a witness who knows exactly the culprit of those attacks who also murdered his betrothed. 

When Morren's sister didn't return from calling for help, they both set out to find the truth and encounter instead another group of Viking that declares they didn't have anything to do with the attack. Trahern's meeting with a Viking who surprisingly felt familiar to him somehow brings about doubts of his own legacy. Before dealing with that mystery, he and Morren must first discover the real culprit of the O'Reilly clan tragedy. In time, maybe they could also both heal in their own way for all the sufferings that they had been through,together.

The feelings of the whole story is a heavy one. There's not much light feelings from humor or wit as we have these two broken souls dealing and trying hard to survive each day. But make no mistake they take you in their sufferings and all you want for them is to find some kind of happiness whichever way they can.

The Convenient Marriage by Georgette Heyer

I don't know how I stumble into this one because its kinda surprising. Its a light hearted romance with humor towards the end of the book that made me chuckle.

Our heroine is a young and bold Miss Horatia 'Horry' Winwood that takes it upon herself to save her sister, Elizabeth, from marrying the Earl of Rule because Elizabeth already had a relationship with Edward Heron. Horry rashly explained things to Rule and "sacrifice" herself to marry him instead of her sister. And to everyone shock, he agrees and offer for the youngest of the Winwood sister; the one barely out of school where they have quite an age gap between them. Of course, being as young as she is, she haven't really grasp the concept of things and at first appears to continue to shock people and worries her family.

Rule already had a mistress since before he married and that mistress was planning things to trouble the couple but somehow things didn't go as plan and it pushes Rule more into Horry's way. Can the odd pairing really make it through?

All I gotta say is Rule seemed so laid back and understanding in dealing with Horry's multiple excursions that he does not seemed real. I mean, is this guy for real? But still, to me its the funny scenes that made the book enjoyable. Horry's brother, Pelham, along with his friend and the poor Captain Horen towards the last bit of the book just sold it for me. I didn't even care if there's not much romance in it.

Dark Wolf (#25) by Christian Feehan

This book had been more than a decade in waiting. We (fans of the Dark Series) met Skyler in Book 8 (Dark Legend) and we have been continuing on the Carpathian journey whilst reading glimpses about her growing up from that little girl who had suffered abuse. Over the years, we got inkling that little Skyler is a life mate to a Carpathian name Dimitri and we got to see glimpses of the bond that begins to form between the two of them as the years pass. I think we even underestimate the sacrifice that Dimitri had to endure all those time, waiting for Skyler to grow up. Considering the lifespan of human years is way different, Skyler is still a child compared to Carpathians.

Dark Wolf continues where Dark Lycans ends, where Dimitri is being held by the Lycans after he was kidnapped during the last battle. Skyler, nineteen now, decides to launch her own rescue mission when she thinks that the Prince is not doing anything (despite the Prince trying to prevent war and organizing peace talk with the Lycans’ council). She was joined by her friends; a fledging Carpathian in Josef and Paul, a human related to the legendary de la Cruz brothers. The rescue mission makes us realize of how close we are to losing Dimitri, and also how powerful Skyler truly is. And the trio shenanigans helped lightening up the story to bring balance to the heartbreaking scenario that they were facing. We also met Zev (the alpha elite Lycan) again and he was giving clues that maybe not all was as it seems in the Lycans camp.

In the meantime, the Prince and others have to deal with a trap and betrayal from some of the Lycans that came with the council. It all manifest when they felt the pain and loss of Skyler, who suffered greatly during the rescue mission. This led to both parties having to think things through to try and discover the real situation.

This is one action filled book than previous ones which says a lot considering that there's always actions in all the books. And that they happened in two different places makes it more, just more. And if most fans of the book thought that the series is becoming boring, and Feehan sure knew how to pull you back in the stories. The connection that Skyler and Dimitri have feels like a modern take, probably because of how young Skyler is and I am surprised by it to be honest. So yes, I enjoyed the story that's been building up for years. Finally!

Highland Master (Murray #19) by Hannah Howell

Lady Triona McKee had a surprise visit from one of her distant cousin, Lady Arianna McFingal and six of her burly and big companions. Apparently her cousin was upset with her husband Brian and decided to “do some thinking” here at Banuilt where Triona is Laird upon the death of Triona’s husband, Boyd. One of the companions was Sir Brett Murray, who wants to make sure that they were not jeopardizing Arianna’s safety here when things are not like it seems. Triona admits relief of having such strong men at Banuilt and had to tell them all what had been happening here since the fever took so many people away.

One of the problems is called Sir John Grant, of their allied clan who seems to be responsible for the majority of the mishap that happens to Banuilt for the last two years, along with his obsession of wanting to marry Triona to take it under his command. The men interest in helping Triona brought Brett and her closer together and was a surprised to Brett since he was plagued by his past guilt. Triona’s marriage to Boyd did not inspire her in love or the attraction between men and women so she too did not expect things happening but she was surprised nonetheless.

The arrival of men seems to push Grant beyond just careless pursue of Triona to determining to make Banuilt his. But Triona and Brett and the others are having progress with their research and they were shocked to find that the garrison that were supposed to go to France, end up being imprisoned by Grant and this led the clans’ liege lord to declared Grant’s protection taken off of him. It seems that a mad man was unleashed as he takes things into his own hand and kidnapped Triona’s daughter Ella as a bargaining tool in this fight. And Brett and Triona will stop at nothing to finally bring justice to Grant. But the questions remain; will Brett stay after all the fighting is done?

I lost count of the series but I guess it didn't matter anyway because each stories are different. That's one of the things I'm relieved about. Also, its a nice change I feel to not involved the lowlands or the highlands and the settings are a place out of the way of court intrigue and make it refreshing. Just plain old drama of a guy rejected by a woman but can't handle it so he has to do underhanded tactics to make her marry him (you wish). And then the woman had help from better, stronger and more handsome man to indulge herself with while being laird and a mother to boot. But of course when you take all the elements away its really that simple of a story. Just envision it taking place in a more rugged place with more sexy highlander.

The Next Always (Inn Boonsboro #1) by Nora Roberts

The Montgomery had acquired the historic hotel/Inn in Boonsboro which also been rumoured as a haunted place. Beckett Montgomery, the architect, along with his brothers; Owen and Ryder, has begun renovation on them with avid interest of the townspeople. Clare Brewster is one of them; owner of the bookstore across the street from the Inn also happens to be the girl Beckett has been crushing on since high school.

Clare, who got married to her high school sweetheart Clint and later widowed with three boys, moved back to Boonsboro for family support and to start again. She’s been busy with her boys and her bookstore and never really thought about another man entering their lives once again. But that where Beckett comes in; when she expresses her excitement and ideas about the Inn to him, he finally had the guts to attract Clare into considering him as more than a friend.

There’s the resident ghost, who Beckett dubbed “Lizzy” since she seems to prefer the “Elizabeth & Darcy” room of the Inn. Lizzy’s motives and why she still lingers doesn’t even bother Beckett but it led to the couples little disagreement. And then there’s also Clare’s stalker, a snobby rich guy who thought Clare disinterest in him was her playing hard to get.

On the back of Just One Kiss & Two of a Kind, the author made it kind of obvious that Ford and Isabel have something that needs resolving. The cute story of how she wrote to him while he was in the military ever since she was 14 years old, declaring her undying love to him all the while sharing stories of growing up in her letters grabbed me from before this book even exist. And Ford treasured those letters as they are one of the reasons keeping him sane in insanely dangerous situations in his SEAL days just made me aww.

Now, together in the same town once again due to Ford joined venture with CDS, both of them manage to avoid each other for awhile, but it’ll have to change because of their current living situations. Striking up her courage, Isabel told Ford that he no longer needs to avoid her or be uncomfortable around her since those letters she wrote are history. Who are they kidding when she said that it was all in the past? Meanwhile, Ford is having to content with his mother, Denise Hendrix, trying to playing matchmaker and insisting him to settle down as soon as possible. Isabel viewed her work in her family’s bridal boutique as temporary considering her goal to open her own boutique in NY with her friend Sonia. Ford viewed her as ‘safe’ since she’s going away soon; he believes himself a commitment phobia who runs just as soon as women started saying they love him which was his M.O. for so long. Isabel also believes that the reason he’s interested is because she’s not staying. And so somehow they’re now fake-dating; where Ford begs her as a way to get his mother off his back.

Before I forget, we were also treated to a side story of Ford’s brother, Kent, and his developing story with deadly CDS instructor, Consuelo Ly. She never thought that normal suited her but now Consuelo was drawn to Kent, a Math teacher, and found herself lacking for him (which is ridiculous btw). Kent literally jaw-dropped the first time he met her and he too felt inadequate for her. This is a Classic tale of over-analysing relationship if you asked me.

Susan Mallery just has a way of writing that includes humor and wit and makes me chuckle at unexpected moments. And I love Fools Gold residences and festivals just as much as I could love a fictional town. Until the next Fools Gold adventure, peace.

Stalked by Allison Brennan (#5)

So it’s a series but it doesn’t matter. It makes me interested for more books yeay. This is the fifth instalment of the series.

Lucy Kincaid is now under training at Quantico and she is determined to make it through while not stand out too much. It is easier said than done when she has her history and connections throughout. Furthermore she got embroiled into a case in New York when she becomes a person of interest due to the victim being a writer/former reporter of intriguing crimes.

Whilst still trying her best to not let her history affects her training, one by one her trainers who are also major players of a cold case turns up having incidents of some sorts and that let them to believe that the case may not be that simple. Another person of authority also turns up having problems with her being in the program where he distracts Lucy from her focus to train as well as help with the case. With the help of her boyfriend, Sean, and a couple of NYPD cops, they begin to unravels the true mystery behind the crime and let them way back to a sensationalized case of Rachel McMahon’s murder.

I can't write much since it is a mystery book so you have read it yourself. But I can say that I it is a good thing since it's a good book. I know I don't read books like this as much since I focused more on romance novels but I'm glad I picked it up.

Dark Lycan by Christine Feehan (#24 Dark Series)

I’ve read this series since forever and I could always count on my familiarity with the author’s writing. Side note, I think everyone who had read this series has been waiting on forever for the pairing of Skyler and Dimitri. We only have to wait for another book for it but there are some bits of the pair that will make you salivate while you wait. In the meantime, we focus on Dimitri’s brother, Fenris and one of the rescued Dragonseeker, Tatijana.

A couple years after being rescued, Tatijana still has to adjust to this time and the way people are living. The feeling of being held prisoner, trapped under the ice cave by her own father makes her wary of entrapment be it being close in under the healing soils, or being under commitment of a lifemate. Trust is fragile and she vows to never having to feel like that ever again. It does not explain then why a certain brooding stranger she met in a tavern interests her so.

Fenris Dalka had a secret and so far only his brother Dimitri is the one he entrusted his secret with. He doesn’t even think many of the Carpathians knew he is Dimitri’s brother. He pledges his honor to the old prince a long time ago and had been far from the new updates that is happening with the Carpathians now. One of the reasons is because he is no longer just a Carpathian. Circumstances changes him into a mixed breed which is never had been thought possible before. He is now Carpathian-Lycan, but the Lycans only ever has Sangre Rau where Lycans turns vampire and probably the deadliest species yet. There’s a reason Carpathians and Lycans don’t mix before and now he was just finding out how dangerous that makes him and how it affects the future. And things are getting more complicated as he finds himself a new development; a lifemate.

Fen knew he couldn’t claim her as things are still complicated and he also knew how much Tatijana does not want to claimed. Unknowns about his situations were only just a start as they got another problem on their hands; a rogue werewolf attack who could be masterminded by a Sangre Rau. And the attacks looked to be a deviation from their true purpose where the prince, Mikhail, and second in command, Gregori, unravels more information and what to be of the Carpathians fate.

Truly A Wife by Rebecca Hagan Lee (Free Fellow League)

Daniel, Duke of Sussex, member of the Free Fellow League, was on his mission when he got shot. But he refused to be properly looked at because he wanted to return to London to fulfil a promise to a certain Marchioness. Miranda, Marchioness St. Germain, attends the annual bash hosted by Daniel’s mother although the Dowager Duchess did not bother invited her. Daniel and Miranda had had a tumultuous relationship but she had loved him forever. Upon finding him injured, she had to take it upon herself to care for him. Already drunk from his whisky consumption to keep the pain away, he made a decision to keep his secret dealings safe at the same time to protect Miranda’s name.

Too bad he couldn’t remember that when he awoke after the trouble Miranda had gone through to keep him alive and well. She knew that the possibility of him remembering what happened that night was unlikely. But he had always been the one for her so she’d take whatever she can from him. Miranda is even willing to let him go because she loves him that much.

At the same time, Daniel had to deal with the problems that arose from his Free Fellow mission. They discovered a traitor somewhere along the way and had to deal with that. Meanwhile, the one person the member of the league could never thought getting shackled, surprised them all with his news.

Ah, I love the Free Fellows. We kinda knew Daniel and Miranda had a thing back when they were together for Alyssa (book 1). Miranda hold her own title, and she is also a woman all her own because of how strong she is, literally. Daniel, I have to admit he's not my favorite Free Fellow. I don't know why probably because he had it easy compared with  the others. I mean he's a duke, AND Miranda is already in love with him. But still I love the series so I don't mind.

Two of a Kind by Susan Mallery

Managed to finally read the continuation from “Just One Kiss” so here we go.

We’re back in Fool’s Gold, and Felicia Swift and Gideon Boylan is the focus of the book. They both got quite a history together. Long story short, Gideon helped Felicia divested her virginity one night back when they’re in Thailand. Fate wouldn’t let these two avoid each other much longer now that they are both in the same town. Gideon of the sexy-voiced radio host/station owner still got the sizzles when he met Felicia-the-Wunderkid/Genius again.

Raised pretty much alone in a lab since 4 years of age, Felicia always wanted what she never had, a family and a sense of belonging somewhere. She is learning to love the town filled with characters and wants to be normal. Normal as a socially awkward genius can be anyway. The mayor gave her an offer to be the person in charge of all the festivals in Fool’s Gold citing she’s excellent with logistics. And since it is Fool’s Gold, where tourist attraction brings in the cash; there are more than enough festivals to fill a calendar year.

Needing opinions, she wants a chat with someone and that someone turns out to be Gideon. In the back of her mind, she knows there’s more she’d like to have from Gideon that just a “chat”. Gideon was intrigue of Felicia’s quirk and straight forward mannerism and the sizzle just skyrocket. But he too had a history that makes he believe that love only weakens. Before he left the military, he and his team was kidnapped, kept and tortured by the enemies. He witnesses his mates dying because of love for their loved ones and the distorted view stayed with him. Although he admits to Felicia about him not being the forever guy for her, they can’t help what fate has put in their path.

Another major twist showed up that will test their relationship, the one he hadn’t see coming. It is also the turning point of how they’ll end up.

I love Felicia’s character, the genius girl awkward in general but wanting what every normal girl dreams of. Her endearing traits totally makes up for what most normal people would do. For the life of me I can’t get Gideon’s physical self to manifest. All I got is that he got one heck of a sexy voice (aside from being a sexy male) and I’m okay with that. Besides that, I think we a got a glimpse of a brewing romance/book between Angel and Kent. And we know that the next book is going to be about Ford and Isabel. I’m so excited. (p.s I like the surprise)

My Wild Highlander By Vonda Sinclair

Lady Angelique Drummagan, half Scottish-half French daughter of the late Laird Drummagan, was decreed by the King to choose amongst his picked of men for her to wed and thus to become the chief of her clan. She obviously wouldn’t want to marry anyone but alas she chose who she thinks was the easier for her to bear i.e. she thought he was the lesser evil among them. The fact that he was better looking than most men didn’t enter her thoughts one bit, at least that what she tried to made us believe.

The charming Lachlan MacGrath never thought that he would be in the position he was in. Little did he know that with him saving one of the king’s right-hand man made his value higher in the king’s eyes? He was forever charming the ladies, being the seducer and being seduced, so marriage never entered his thoughts. He also had the feeling of unworthiness that most sons that wasn’t an heir apparent deep inside his mind. So, the idea of finally having something to hold responsible to kinda make him determined more than ever. That idea seems more and more real sspecially when Angelique raises the feeling of protectiveness in him. And that she obviously is the only one who would think to challenged him, unlike past women in his life.

But of course, their story wouldn’t be a journey without supporting characters that includes their enemies; who either want the land they owned or just want revenge and just want them to part, and the friends that would stood by them unconditionally.

Rock-a-bye Billionaire by Heidi Betts

Backstory: The diminishing alliance of two jewellers’ family tore them apart. One continue on growing their empire meanwhile the other was left to find other means to survive. Although it happened before the time two of the families’ heir involves in the company, the resentment lives as a reminder of the past.

Jessica Taylor, now working as a maid at a hotel to support herself, was shocked to find that she was cleaning her enemy, Alexander Bajoran, room when they met. She recognises him immediately and told her cousin about it. They, or more likely, her cousin managed to get Jessica to work some espionage on him/Bajoran Designs as sort of revenge. Reluctantly she agrees but she founds that her attraction to him was making things a bit hard.

Alex, clearly intrigue by the attraction he felt for the blue-streaked haired woman with piercings; invites her to dinner in hopes of seducing her. The night they shared later change things for them both forever. Jessica’s action in stealing a top secret info on one of Bajoran designs proposal put them both in jeopardy.

One scene I’m taking away from the book is that sexy time that one night. I don’t know why but the way it is described made me pictured it vividly for some reason. Oh well, I enjoyed the story, not obsessed with it as I do with historical romances though.

Seduction of A Highland Lass (McCabe2) by Maya Banks

Just have to say that at one point, I'm leaking tears while reading this. No biggie, cause I'm pretty leaky when it come to certain things but it still catches you off guard.

So, i'm apparently jumping a cue because I didn't read the first book of this series but this is the one I found first, so... About Keeley McDonald who was surprised with a wounded warrior delivered to her doorstep by the warrior's loyal horse. Keeley lives on her own after she was disowned by her clan because of a terrible injustice done to her by the laird. She's also have knowledge of healing which provide her earnings for living. The warrior, Alaric McCabe was injured due to being ambushed probably by their enemy the Cameron. She nursed him to the best of her abilities, and there began to feel for him.

One night, the McCabe finally came for Alaric and Ewan McCabe, also Alaric's brother as well as the Laird finds that he have need of her abilities considering Ewan's wife was pregnant and will be delivering their first bairn soon. He kidnap her to be their healer much to her protests. But soon Keeley finds that living with the McCabe brings back joy to her life. Not to mention of how much Alaric meant to her. Not all seems rosy though when she found out that Alaric was supposed to marry Rionna McDonald, her former cousin and best friend. 

Alaric knew of his duty to the clan for the joining of McCabe and McDonald was vital to stop their enemies plans. Try as they might, they both couldn't resist one chance to cherish memories but it turned out to be more. In love but resigned of their fate, the two of them tries to live each day as they came before the time came for them to part. It came sooner than they thought when the McDonald arrived further ahead of the plan. Keeley also had to deal with her McDonald's past with Rionna and her father on top of her upcoming heartbreak. 

Stories like this always made me think of how I would do if the situation occurs to me. And I have to say Keeley handles it so  much better than I probably had the guts to be. And Alaric turns out to be such a man that you just have to like. Oh and that scene that made me cry, damn it, I should have known it was coming but I am a sucker for romance. This book also made me want to read the next book on this series, to know how Caelen, Alaric's younger brother, would do.

A Highlander Never Surrender (MacGregors 2) by Paula Quinn

Claire Stuart was trained, alongside her brother Connor, like a warrior growing up. So she is one skilled lady and a stubborn one to boot. When news of Connor's demise broke through because of a betrayal, she takes it upon herself to continue what they have been fighting for. She was told that Connor's friend, General Monck, betrayed him and was arranging marriage for her sister, Lady Anne as well as herself. Her quest to avenge Connor brought her to Edinburgh to see Monck but on the way there she was captured. 

Graham Grant, a commander for the MacGregor clan, was riding with the Earl of Argyll, Robert Campbell, when they chance upon Lambert's men holding a woman captive. They rode to her rescue but Claire was quick to show them that she can handle it herself. Intrigue by the fearless woman and her mission, Graham and Robert was not letting her ride alone for the rest of her journey no matter how much she tries to elude the two warrior. Especially because Robert would not believe that Monck actually did as he was accused of. News of Monck asking a favor from the Macgregor clan to guard both Anne and Claire made her more wary. But she follows along the plan in parts because Graham made her feel something she couldn't describe. It's doesn't matter that she knew he was all rogue and charm.

Once in MacGregor territory, she falls more for Graham as he does. And she could also see that her sister was getting close to Robert. But things still hasn't been settled with Monck, James Buchanan; a man she thought to be Connor's friend, and the mysteries surrounding Connor. Can Graham accepts her as she is? Who can she trusts? Is Connor still alive? Questions that will be unraveled bit by bit along Claire's journey.

I like the story just because I thought it focuses more from Claire's view and how Graham can still be honorable despite the rogue that he is. I kinda knew Robert and Anne would eventually pair from the moment she said she had a sister. All this other business of Monck with Buchanan and Lambert was just a fodder for me (just because of the romance which I truly was focusing on) but the story flows. I'm actually surprise at how long it takes me to finish this book. Its a long one for sure but it didn't make me want to quit or anything. Been to busy to just sit down and focus is all. I'm still into historical romance, probably cause there's not much like this on TV these days.

Merely A Groom by Rebecca Hagan Lee (Free Fellows League 2)

Gillian Davies seems to get herself into trouble by eloping to Scotland with a guy supposedly called Colin Fox. She was abandoned alone and on the mercy of the inn keepers. Colin McElreath, Viscount Grantham, also stays at that same inn, living undercover on one of his Free Fellows League mission. He heard of Gillian's plight from the inn keeper, and at one time hide out in her room/bed without Gillian realizing that he was not her husband. To her surprised later, Colin is the one who saved her with some money to go back home to her family.

Disgraced and ashamed by her situation, her father Baron Davies who is also very wealthy, wanted Gillian to find a husband to cover the situation. His investigator who tried to locate Colin Fox ruffles the undercover network of the Free Fellows as Colin Fox is one of the name that Colin used himself as a spy for matters regarding smuggling. And more investigations showed that the fake Colin had been using the same M.O to bribe money out of wealthy families among the ton.

Discovering that the marriage wasn't legal just adds more blows to Gillian's pride. Her father really don't care if Colin is not the Colin Fox that his daughter had eloped with. He kinda trapped Colin into really marrying Gillian this time, with blackmail of uncovering their secret spying to the public. Baron Davies even bribe him with money, which to Colin sounds like a prayer to fulfill his responsibilities to his family. In looks like in this marriage, he is merely the groom.

Barely A Bride by Rebecca Hagan Lee (Free Fellows League 1)

3 friends swore a blood oath when they were children that they would avoid marriage and to become England's heroes. They called themselves the Free Fellows League. There's a bet thrown in for who was the first to break the it. And it looks like Viscount  Griffin Abernathy is the first one to bite the dust.

Lady Alyssa Carrollton is also not looking forward to marriage anytime soon. She'd rather focus on creating the gardens of her dream. Her mother believed Alyssa was destined to be a duchess and so wanted to make a good marriage.

At another one of the ball (marriage mart) Alyssa stumbled upon an enlightening conversation among the Free Fellows League that caught her interest. They were later introduced and Griffin searches was now concluded. He was set on Alyssa and moving at such a fast pace to ensure they were married much to the dismay of Alyssa's mother.

Somehow in short amount of time they spend together after they were wed, changed the way they view marriage. But such as it is, whatever relationship that have been blossoming had to pause as it was time for him to join the cavalry. Whatever he thinks he feels leaving Alyssa must now been put to the back at his mind to focus in not getting himself killed.

One accident left Griffin injured. He was welcomed home as a celebrated hero but in his self esteem was at an all time low. He even thought at one point that Alyssa deserved someone better than him. Silly man. Well, thankfully his wife has got something to say about that.

Nice story but what was up with the blood oath of not marrying when they were like 9/10 years old? And still go through with it once you should know better. There is something to be said about preconceived notion... Btw, since this is a series, the next one man to go down in love is Colin.

Shadow Game by Christine Feehan (Ghostwalker 1)

I thought I wasn't going to enjoy paranormal-action-romance but I actually did. Color me surprised. I developed a major obsession with Christine Feehan books from this one. So since this book is the first book of a series, I'd pay attention to the military and psychic lingo if I were you. 

The premise is about a brand spanking new secret military team Dr Peter Whitney developed for the government that has been enhanced psychically. The teams consists of men who joined that thought they were doing a service for their beloved country. So, now they were confined in the labs of Dr Whitney like lab rats with side effects to their psychic talents.

Captain Ryland Miller was feeling particularly guilty that he led his team of Special Forces down this road of experiments. Now equipped with his mental talents albeit occurring pains, he found that Dr Whitney's daughter, Lily who is also her father's assistant kept the pain away whenever she's around. He guessed she was another psychic freak like him and was proven correct when their chemistry and bonds shot through the roof. He wants out of the lab and he utilized her when they both discover something is not right about the program. And then began their own adventure of discovery where people like them belong in the world.

I personally enjoyed the military elements and banter we got from the guys in the team. And I can't wait to read all their stories in the upcoming books. Lily and Ryland have some very sexy scenes that made you appreciate alpha male types men. Like I said, I didn't realized I would enjoy this type of "romance" before. But I'm hooked now. Next Ghostwalker series is about Nico and I'm looking forward to it. Major props for Christine Feehan.
