Tonight is one of those nostalgic nights. One of those nights where I look over my life and I see where things could have gone different. Where I look at things I missed out on, but also opportunities I did take. I’m rather content with where I am at. Some days I feel like I have wasted everything away, some days I feel like I ended up far too lucky. Some days I wish I had followed my dad into truck driving or the family into farming. Some days I am so glad I said I didn’t want to stay in a small town where everyone knew everyone’s business and fucked off. I wish things were a little more simple but then it wouldn’t be as fun I guess.

Anyone who thinks this interaction is inappropriate either 1) has never been around kids before or 2) needs to go to therapy to unpack deep seeded issues because nothing about this scene was sinister.

Kids don't understand the difference between romantic & platonic love. She's literally only 7 years old! She's a BABY!

When a child that young says they want to "marry you", it just means they really like you & want to be friends with you & hang out with you forever. They don't know that marriage is more than best friendism.

So Brook playing along & "rejecting" her is just about humoring a child. Her father getting "jealous" is about his daughter preferring the company of another adult rather than himself. HE wants to be her best friend.

I used to be the neighborhood babysitter. I had so many little kids tell their parents they were going to marry me when they grew up. I highly doubt the vast majority of them even remember me anymore. Like OP said, little kids don’t know what marriage is. For many it just means ‘you are someone I like to hang out with a lot and want to keep around’

Rewatching Hazbin Hotel 2 again and there are a few thoughts I have on the final episode.

First still laughing about the five minute song about hoping everyone will remember how they all stood together to show that peace was possible between Heaven and Hell only to have all the Overlords look at each other and go ‘so we all agree this never happened and to never discuss it again’.

But some actual thoughts now. I find it interesting that all the Overlords accepted an invitation to Vox’s party except Rosie and Zestiel. Zestiel didn’t like Vox and what Vox was trying to do, and he was very disappointed in Carmella for going along with it. He was pretty much waiting for her to make the right choice. Rosie on the other hand pretty much ‘noped’ out of the whole thing until Alister messed up her plans.

And I already commented on this before, but I still can’t fully understand the hierarchy in Hell. Because absolutely no one respects or cares about Lucifer or Charlie. In fact it seemed most were more loyal to Lilith. It sort of makes sense because Lucifer doesn’t like anything about Hell. He hates the sinners and has pulled back from all his responsibilities. On the other hand we learn Lilith started the rebellion that Sara agreed to the exterminations over 7/8 years ago, then promptly vanished up to Heaven for some deal with Adam. Which is exactly when Rosie ordered Alister to disappear for seven years. What exactly he was doing for those seven years though is still up in the air.

But it’s not just the royal family that the citizens of Hell don’t respect. It’s hit or miss. The Goetia are next, and for the most part we see most respect them whenever they appear. Then we get the Seven Sins. And this is hit or miss. Satan and Mammon appear to be feared by most. Then we have Asmodeus and Beezlebub that no one fears or respects much. And maybe it could be because they interact with the general public so much more directly than the rest, but we literally got imps calling them on the throne and threatening to take over their businesses so there is that.

Then there are Overlords and they are almost more feared than the sins. Zestiel in particular terrifies everyone who encounters him. Even Alister shows concern in his presence. And the Overlords have no problem publicly stating they don’t care about Lucifer or Charlie. They also have actual followings, supporters, and followers who would form fighting forces for them if asked. That’s something we hadn’t seen from the others.

I wonder what season 3 for both series are going to bring. Hazbin Hotel has Lilith and the relationship building between Heaven and Hell while we have Lute and possibly Alister causing problems, and of course Husk and Cherri trying to get Angel back. For Hellva Boss we got Stolas trying to figure out life without his daughter, and Blitz having the increase in business. Millie and Moxie have some big decisions coming up, but I can also see some bridging between the two series occurring now that they are on the same platform.

I think one of the things that has jumped out to me about the oddness of Hellva Boss/Hazbin Hotel is that there is a hierarchy in Hell. Lucifer, the Royal Family, the Goetic Demons, Seven Sins, Overloards, etc. but that hierarchy is just…meaningless?

Like very few characters seem to give any fucks that Charlie is the Princess of Hell, and since there doesn’t seem to be any repercussions for being disrespectful to her or even outright attacking her, it seems like a meaningless title. But people are super respectful to the Goetic Demons in a way we never see towards Charlie or even Lucifer? And we see demons are terrified of Overloards, but they have no problem just talking back to or cussing out some of the Sins. Like the only Sin the demons seem to show any respect for is Satan?

I guess it’s just kinda weird at how inconsistent it is to me based on the particular story they are telling in that episode.

To be fair, that someone had been chasing after Jamie in the entire serial to kill and eat Jamie, and then was torturing him in the kitchen to ‘tenderize the meat’ to the point one of his own allies came to beg him to kill Jamie first so they didn’t have to hear him scream.

Getting poisoned was the nice route.

Qrow was fucking going through it in the Apathy Arc. Imagine if you hated yourself and had a debilitating addiction and you'd just narrowly survived a train crash, barely got to leave the wreckage before you found out your teacher and/or surrogate father figure who was the only one who made you believe your life had a purpose had actually been lying to you all this time and didn't believe the stuff he had you doing would actually succeed and then you had to spend a day walking through a blizzard with five Not Okay teenagers and an old lady you met yesterday who keeps telling you to "keep moving so we don't get mauled to death in the snow" which you know is a very real risk right now but given everything else going on you don't really want to be reminded and then you spend at least a full day in fucking Corpse Village, in the same house as a cellar fully stocked with the exact thing you're addicted to and a nest of depression ghouls and the constant nagging awareness that because you're currently spiralling your already-traumatised 16yo niece is having to deal with everything
