thinking about a mother's day where baran's ex(-WIFE) has the kid for the week and she's trying not to act all bummed out about it, says she's fine, they can still facetime and do something over the weekend, but trinity's learned to read her. knows her tells almost as well as her own by now. so she tries making her feel better the morning of by wearing this fuckass shirt. baran laughs and kisses her stupid, so that's a win in trinity's book!
There's someone on TikTok who made a custom Mel King American Girl doll and now all I can think about is Penny getting that doll (in whatever clothes the doll came with) and wanting it to wear scrubs because her dad is a doctor, so Abby (who doesn't know Mel and thus doesn't know she looks like the doll) finds her little scrubs on Etsy.
Fast forward like a year and the divorce has happened, and Frank is introducing Mel to his kids. Tanner is relatively indifferent (he's not upset his dad has a girlfriend, he just doesn't share any of Mel's interests) but Penny is JAZZED AS HELL because here comes this cool lady who looks EXACTLY like her doll.

Coming home from a long day at work just needing his mommy to tell him what to do and where to go. He’s just a dumb little puppy who’s sooooo tired and sleepy. “It’s okay puppy mommy will help, take those yucky clothes off and come lay down on the bed, there you go! Such a good boy listening to me, can you give mommy a kiss?” Poor little puppy can’t do anything other than whine and nuzzle against Jacks chest. Dennis who was left out in the rain as a kid as punishment. Not even allowed in the barn as he'd just hunker down with the animals.
Time passed slowly then, until the icy drops of rain stung his skin, sharp and unforgiving.
Nowadays, he shivers in reflex when there's a lot of rain outside even when he's under shelter, warm and safe.
At first he was embarrassed at the way his body reacted out of his control. He'd throw on an extra hoodie or hug his arms around his body to try and stop the shivers that wracked through him.
But Robby and Jack didn't let that go on for long.
When they're at work, whichever one he's working with will grab a jacket or a sweater or something of their own they've taken to bringing to work even on sunny days just in case (usually Robby's green fleece). Dennis is bundled in it and held for as long as they can afford before the work must go on.
At home, Dennis has a special blanket, warm and blue and covered in stars. Jack says the stars are what makes it so cozy and warm since stars are balls of fire and Dennis calls him silly but he traces the shapes of them anyway.
With the blanket around him, he's wedged between his partners, safe and secure where the rain can't touch him.

I think Mel is someone who fundamentally does not care about gender roles and so she ends up doing lots of things for Langdon that are traditionally male-coded.
She’s always picking flowers and leaving them at his locker with sweet little notes and he is so excited because no one’s ever done anything like that for him (and of course he’s never thought to ask).
Giggling at the thought that they had kingdon do a high five during the season 2 finale to enforce the “you’re platonic” storyline to them to throw them off the scent, just to cut it and splice together the most romantic finale scene of all time. Taylor & Patrick yall are being pranked babes

about to sound #woke rn but people acting like mel being called er barbie and being perceived as more feminine is somehow a bad thing, and acting like that undermines who Mel is feels a tad misogynistic TO ME because why are we acting like being feminine is a bad thing? And I don't even hc Mel as super feminine, but so what if others do? I don't understand why people are getting so upset over it.
