Is anyone else pleasantly surprised at the sheer amount of black, latino and other poc!reader fics that have come out of the ATSV fandom? Like it’s normally so rare to find fanfics with a poc or a dark/brown skinned reader in mind but seeing so many different people integrate their culture and background into their work is genuinely heartwarming
Everyone took a step back except for Cheong-san who decided to fall back instead while the zombie that was just hanging from the hose by it's leg thrashed around, reaching out toward the students as it growled.
"It's coming in!"
"Cheong-san, come back here."
"Hey, watch out."
"Cheong-san!"
Cheong-san looked around and spotted a mop in the corner. He rushed forward, "Bring Cheong-san back here!" Gyeong-su reached out for Cheong-san but missed him by a centimeter.
"Hey, wait!" Once Cheong-san grabbed the mop he immediately stepped back and went in a protective stance to hit the zombie with the mop. He quickly began to push the zombie away.
"Push it! Push it away!"
"Did you get it?"
"Does it look like he did? Don't ask stupid questions!"
"Push it!" Each time Cheong-san would try to push it away it would grab the mop.
"Push it! Push it more!" Gyeong-su soon after went to aid Cheong-san and tried to help him push the zombie away. The zombie grabbed onto the window frame away it tried to go in, "the hand!"
"Push!"
"Hey, watch out!" As Gyeong-su was moving its hand away it switch from grabbing the window frame to grabbing his hand, "step back!" He managed to remove his hand and took a few steps back with Cheong-san. The zombie continued to move around, trying to pull itself in. Cheong-san grabbed the broom as a bat and hit it once on the back of the zombie. He looked at the zombie and the wooden mop that was now broken, the mop was now just a stick.
"Don't go near it!"
"Should I go or should you?"
"Move over. Hold on, I can't."
"Go, Dae-su."
"Should I go?"
Su-Hyeok who was nearby on the side watching Cheong-san, rushed forward, "what are you doing?!" He took the stick away from him. Accidentally hitting Gyeong-su in the nose as Su-hyeok pulled back and poked the zombie harshly on its shoulder. The zombie was dormant for a few seconds before it began to screech and pull itself more in rapidly.
"We're fucked."
"Just push it!"
"Just push it! Push it away!"
"Push it away already!"
"Fuck. It's coming in."
"Su-hyeok! Just throw that away!" Gyeong-su looked at the computer box before snatching it off the table, "Su-hyeok! Move away!"
"Move, Bare-su!" Su-hyeok moved as Gyeong-su raised the computer box above his head and ran towards the zombie. He smacked the computer box hard on the zombie, and both fell. Almost everyone stood in shock with their mouths open, some went over to the window and saw the zombie that had fallen get up and run off, there lay the computer broken.
"That scared me."
"I'm exhausted."
"Are you okay?" Su-hyeok walked away from the window with Dae-su and Wu-jin as he dropped the stick on the floor, "I'm good."
"Where did it come from?"
Soo-jin looked around in search of the short black-haired girl. Hwa-young walked off to a chair nearby, Na-yeon looked over at Gyeong-su who was beside Cheong-san, and Wu-jin who walked over to him to ask if he was okay.
"Everyone okay?"
"That was scary. I'm okay." Gyeong-su patted Wu-jin's shoulder and walked off, "good thinking." Gyeong-su's nose began to bleed from the hit he had received earlier from Su-hyeok. Na-yeon stared at him before calling him out, "Hey. You..."
Everyone looked over at Gyeong-su wary and far away from him, "Gyeong-su, your nose is bleeding." Gyeong-su wiped his nose confused, "it is?" He stared at his hand for a few seconds deep in thought before remembering that Su-hyeok had hit him accidentally, "this is because Su-hyeok hit me with the mop." He reached over for some tissues and began to clean his nose. Soo-jin squinted her eyes a bit before nodding, "I saw."
Na-yeon shook her head and took a step back, "stand back. Don't come closer. You were bitten, weren't you?"
"No, I wasn't. Su-hyeok hit me..." He pointed over at Su-hyeok as he held the tissue up to his nose. Just as Gyeong-su moved Na-yeon took some steps back, which bothered Gyeong-su, "why do you keep picking on me?"
"You were bitten."
"He just said no, do you see any bite marks on his hands or wrists? Huh?"
"I-sak got a nosebleed just before she turned. On-jo. You know. That's how I-sak was before she turned." Na-yeon looked at the teacher before turning to look at On-jo.
"Gyeong-su."
"I wasn't bitten! I swear!... Damn it." He sighed knowing that no one was believing him.
"Your hand. What is that? What is it?" Gyeong-su looked down and saw three small scratches, "This was from when I picked up the computer! Don't you trust me? This happened while I was saving you. How could you do this?"
"Yah, I'm sure Gyeong-su is fine. I was nearby and I didn't see him get bitten." Soo-jin looked at Hwa-young and nodded her head, "it happened all too fast though." Some students agreed. Cheong-san walked around the table and grabbed Gyeong-su's hand to inspect it, "it's not a bite. It's a scratch. Whoever wants to check, come and check." Dae-su and Su-hyeok were the first to go check. Joon-Yeong checked for a brief moment as he passed by to go check the computer.
"It's a scratch?"
"It is a scratch. I'm sure of it."
"Ms. Park, please take a look."
"Okay." Ms. Park went over to look at Gyeong-su's hand, "I don't see a bite. It's a scratch. Thank goodness. He's okay." Ms. Park let go of his hand and went to go do something. Na-yeon stared at Gyeong-su who in return stared at her bothered, "satisfied?... I asked if you were satisfied!"
Joon-Yeong frowned slightly as he looked over at Gyeong-su, "but the computer's gone."
"Then the internet... Did you have to throw that of all things?" Dae-su exclaimed slightly.
"What could I do? It was trying to get in."
"I'm just saying, but yeah you did good. Thank you. Don't get mad. Hey, Na-yeon. Say you're sorry and end this."
"Why should I?"
"Because you caused all this, he did it to save us while all you did was just stand there doing nothing like always. So apologize." Soo-jin spoke up glaring at Na-yeon in annoyance.
"Stay out of it bitch."
"Are you calling me a bitch? Ha did you bite your tongue while saying that?"
"Hey. Just say sorry."
"Why should I be sorry? I saw everything. I saw it grab your hand. I'm right. He may have been infected."
"Na-yeon, that's enough."
"It really touched him."
"Does being touched mean he's infected?"
"Who knows? It might."
"I held I-sak's hand before she fell. Why am I okay."
"He has a wound on his hand. It's different when it's an open wound."
"No, it's not. It's the same thing." Hwa-young looked at Na-yeon weirdly.
"Why, that-"
"Hey." Su-hyeok and Cheong-san moved close to hold back Gyeong-su who was going for Na-yeon.
"Don't yell at me. Think about it!"
"Na-yeon. I know you've always hated Gyeong-su, but this is completely different from badmouthing him. This is about life and death."
"She's always like this," Ji-min spoke up looking at Na-yeon for a moment before looking away as Na-yeon turned her head to glare at her.
"If it weren't for him, we may all be dead."
"And now he may kill us."
"I'm about to die because of you."
"Watch your mouth."
"I'm fine right now."
"That's enough, all of you! Shut it."
"Ms. Park-"
"Silen-"
"Shut the hell up," Min-jee said while staring into Na-yeon and Gyeong-su's eyes.
She had just opened her eyes not that long ago and stretched, she could hear some students arguing especially Na-yeon and Gyeong-su. She sighed and closed her eyes again trying to sleep some more until she heard Na-yeon yell again, she heard Ms. Park too as she too was getting frustrated from their argument. Min-jee got up harshly with her jaw tense and an annoyed expression, she was pissed.
She was trying to sleep and here is this crazy girl screaming as if that wouldn't catch the zombies' attention then the other continued into her trap. Everyone turned to look at the short hair girl who still had sleep in her eyes, but you can tell she was extremely peeved. Looking at her caused them to just look at her from their peripheral vision. Gyeong-su kept his stare on the ground while Na-yeon just made a face putting up a facade.
Soo-jin and Hwa-young took a step back, Soo-jin sucked in her teeth creating a tch sound, "we pray for you both." Even Ms. Park took a step back due to the aura the girl had at the moment.
"I sleep for a few minutes and you're already arguing? What are you? 4, huh? What grade are you in? Elementary? Hell, I think even elementary kids would act better than you two. Get serious, look at the situation we're in. Whether you like it or not you both need to pull your differences aside and help each other survive. If not, you might as well just die." Everyone looked at the girl who kept her glare on Gyeong-su and Na-yeon. No one said anything for a few seconds until Ms. Park spoke up and gently patted the girl's shoulder, "Min-jee is right. Now more than ever we need to help each other out."
"Hey! Let's do this. Stay in the recording room for just 10 minutes, Gyeong-su. I know it'll be hard, but I think that's better than being suspected."
"But he's-"
“He nothing, end of argument. Gyeong-su come on.”
“Wait what?” The Short haired girl grabbed his hand and pulled him to the recording room with her, “If he doesn’t turn Na-yeon I will fuck you up, and I keep my word.” Min-jee said as she passed the light brown-haired girl.
"The others don't suspect me. It's just her."
"Gyeong-su, would you do that, please?"
"Forget 10 minutes. I'll stay half no, a full hour."
"There's no need for that. It takes less than five minutes to turn. Stop overreacting."
"Let's just be sure."
"Will that do? If nothing happens, you'll sincerely apologize, right?"
"Don't ask her. Tell her she will, it's the least she could do." Min-jee said as she looked at Na-yeon who wouldn't look at her.
"Yes."
"You guys are all okay with that, right?"
"Yes."
"Yes."
"Sure."
"He's clearly fine. If we do this, who would step up next time? Everyone will hide."
"You're right, too, but... Let's consider this a way to learn to trust each other."
"I trust Gyeong-su."
"See you in an hour."
“Me too,” Min-jee yawned and followed Gyeong-su, “wait what?”
“I’m going in with him.”
“No, you aren’t, what are you going to do in there?”
“Uhh… sleep duh.”
“Min-jee really?”
“yes, Gyeong-su needs me and.. and Cheong-san for.. for moral support so-“
“Min-jee, it’s okay.” Gyeong-su moved his arm away from her softly as he pushed himself off the table and walked to the recording room. Min-jee stepped aside to let him pass and watched him go in. She looked at the ground for a few seconds before turning around to walk over to Soo-jin and Hwa-young after bumping Na-yeon's shoulder with hers intentionally.
"Should I go in with you?" Asked Dae-su, Gyeong-su only responded by raising his hand up to give them the middle finger. He closed the door glanced over at the glass and sat on the chair facing the wall.
"That stubborn punk."
"Ten minutes would be fine."
"He's nothing compared to her." Na-yeon shook her head with anger, glaring at Ji-min who had made that comment, and Min-jee who returned the glare but looked away as she saw the black-haired girl smile warmly. She knew it wasn't a warm friendly smile and that caused chills to go down her spine. Out of everyone in the room, Hwa-young and Min-jee scared her the most, and a little bit Soo-jin too as she hung out with them. Many supposedly saw what Hwa-young, Min-jee, and Soo-jin did to two upperclassmen that had been bothering a friend, but those were just 'rumors' just like the other ones of them being in a gang which made people decide that they didn’t want to be on their bad side.
As Na-yeon looked away her eyes landed on the stick that had been propped up leaning against the wall in a corner. It had blood and not just any blood, zombie blood.

City council
Everyone crowded around the paramedics. Nam So-Ju held a small flashlight up to the person's eyes, Park Young-hwan was covering his nose and looking at the person in front of them, Kim U-Sin stood on the other side of So-ju watching. The person they were checking had been infected and was tied down on a chair by the others before the paramedics arrived.
"He's our youngest aide. He collapsed and started convulsing when he returned from the council office..." Said the chief's aide.
"Captain, he smells like a rotting corpse."
"And then he got up, growled, and charged at Assembly Member Park. So we tied him up. We didn't know if we should call the police. Yes?" The chief looked back over at the Assemblywoman, Park Eun-hee, "Why are you telling them that?"
So-ju looked at the rabid male before speaking up, "let's gag him and move him."
"Okay."
U-Sin grabbed the things and went to stand behind the male who immediately snapped its teeth toward them.
"Ready?"
"Yes."
"One, two, three." Immediately all three sprung into action, So-ju went for the right shoulder pressing it back and holding his head from the top. U-Sin put his arm around it and put them in a chokehold position. Young-hwan quickly moved the gauze bandage towards its mouth so it could bite it, in the progress he got bit and retreated. So-ju looked at him still holding the zombie down, "did you get bitten?"
"It's okay. It's a small bite." Young-hwan glanced at him before going back to gagging the zombie, "wrap him up!"
"Wrap him." U-Sin removed his arm and started to wrap him with another gauze bandage. The zombie continued to squirm around and snarl. So-ju walkie spoke up for an urgent emergency, knowing they had it under control he took a few steps back and answered as he walked away, "Rescue Team One."
"As of now, issuing level-three disaster in Hyosan. Everyone report to temporary headquarters." Everyone's phone went off.
"Did you say level-three disaster?"
"I repeat. Issuing level-three disaster in Hyosan. Everyone report to temporary headquarters." So-ju sighed with a worried expression. Park Eun-hee walked over to him, "what is it?"
"This is the director's order."
"Report where?"
"Mobilize immediately. Over." The walkie-talkie stopped and So-ju looked over at the Assemblywoman, "Well... Our headquarters was relocated outside the city due to an emergency. The disaster and safety management will control the situation directly." In the background, the Chief's aide is heard complaining on the phone asking the other line if an evacuation order was necessary. He hung up the phone and went over to the Assemblywoman once So-ju had walked back to his crew, "they think it's an acute infection. They expect an evacuation order of Hyosan soon."
The council sat nearby a corner talking about politics and the situation they were in. So-ju waited for a moment until he received a call and walked away from the chatter, "A virus? What type of virus?"
"I don't think it's a droplet infection, but it hasn't been confirmed. You seem to get infected if you get bit, so don't get bit or make physical contact. We don't have any information on the virus yet, make sure to avoid contact. I hear an assembly member is there." So-ju listened to his Chief until he mentioned not to make any contact. He looked at Young-hwan as realization began to dawn on him, "hold on." He mumbled as she brought the phone away from his ear.
In that moment while U-Sin was aiding him Young-hwan got a nosebleed, "Young-hwan... Young-hwan, are you okay?" Young-hwan shivered and snarled, he was now bleeding from the mouth, in result, he coughed slightly some blood splattered onto U-sin who was in front of him helping him. He then fell to the floor beginning to spasm, "Young-hwan. Hey." He turned around facing upward, his body twitching and moving in an inhumane way, bones cracking in the process. The council people began to move back, and the chief's aide pointed over at Young-hwan, "that's what happened to our aide earlier. It's the same." Everyone stared at Young-hwan, a few gasped as he lay there still, "is he dead?" U-Sin asked, the body moved, bones cracking, and the now zombie snarled and went straight to attacking U-sin. The council backed up in a corner as they watched, "hey!" So-ju ran over to help U-sin, So-ju removed Young-hwan off of U-sin before pinning him to the ground, "U-Sin, grab the rope! Hurry!"
"Tie him up!"
"Tie him up, hurry," U-sin immediately went to grab the rope, once he did he tied the zombie's legs and then quickly its arms.

High school Cafeteria
"Go get it." Whispered Gwi-nam to Hyung-seo who was under the stove with him.
"No."
"You little..." Gwi-Nam reached out and grabbed the back of Hyung-seo's neck. He quietly cried as he pleaded for Gwi-nam to let him go and to stop. In response, Gwi-nam was pushing his head out telling him to go get the knife. Gwi-nam managed to push him out, which cause Hyung-seo to panic more and try to crawl back in even though Gwi-nam was pushing him out.
"Move. Stop that." Hyung-seo grabbed Gwi-nam's leg and pulled him out too. Gwi-nam kicked him off into a zombie that was behind Hyung-seo. He quickly stood up coming to face with another zombie. He crawled out to the other side making whimpering sounds from fear as he tried to get away. He grabbed the cooking table and pushed it under, trapping the zombie that was going after him underneath. As he backed up another rose from the ground and walked out to him, he put a cart in its way causing the zombie to fall. Gwi-nam had reached a dead end until one of the lunch ladies whisper out to him to join them from where they were hiding. Rather than taking her help he grabbed her and used her as a shield from an upcoming zombie who fell by the cart. He pushed them both back, the elder screamed in pain as she and the zombie that was latched onto her shoulder fell back. Gwi-nam kept running around with no plan in mind seeing as he had to dodge two zombies. He fell to the floor and quickly grabbed the knife that was right there in front of him. He pushed another off of him and another came up. He held him away with his arm and grabbed a colander nearby putting it on the zombie's face. He pushed it back to the wall and stabbed it once in the stomach and twice in the neck, he went for the third time but the zombie fell. Gwi-nam stared at it and the knife in shock at what he had just done, but pulled himself together as he fought another one.

"Maybe they're drawn to smell. They go after you like crazy." Wu-jin said as he looked at Dae-su who was deep in thought and shook his head, "I don't smell."
"You sweat a lot."
"I sweat, but I don't smell." Dae-su sniffed as he looked down at the table, "what is that smell?"
"Your sweat."
"I think they're more sensitive to sound than smell."
"Sound?"
"Yes, sound." Joon-Yeong was sitting at the table as he used a hairbrush from the back as a mirror to check his neck, Su-hyeok was sitting at the table too, just listening to their conversations. Ji-min sat in between Dae-su and Wu-jin at the table.
"This isn't a movie."
"That's how most zombies are and you saw their eyes. They can't see with those eyes."
"Sound or smell, I don't know, but..."
Hyo-ryung was behind Wu-jin, she was on the floor sitting beside Ms. Park, "Ms. Park... Some kids probably left the school, right" Ms. Park looked at her before looking at the floor as she nodded, "yes, probably."
"Should we consider ourselves the lucky ones?"
"The fact that we're alive... Means we're lucky."
"Is that true?" Ms. Park looked at Hyo-ryung and nodded while humming 'yes' she then pulled the teen into a side hug.
Min-jee leaned on the walls of the corner they were in and yawned, "I could go for another nap."
Soo-jin shook her head, "Lazy ass."
Hwa-young smiled and shook her head, "Dude what happened to your shoe? I forgot to ask earlier." Min-jee looked down at her foot which didn't have a shoe, showing the world the type of socks she wore, today she went with grey socks that had Snoopy and Woodstock on them, "some zombie stole it. It grabbed my leg as I was going out the window, so I pushed it, and bye-bye shoe. I made it, but it cost me my shoe." She pouted as she dramatically told her story. The girls laughed and playfully pushed her, "That's sad Mj."
"Rip Mj's shoe."
"I'm glad you're okay."
The three girls were talking until one of them got quiet, “Do you think we’ll make it out of here?”
Both girls stopped talking and looked at Hwa-young before nodding, “I- yes of course, the three of us will make it we just have to stick close together and be careful you know.”
Min-jee nodded agreeing with Soo-jin, she can still see the small fear in Hwa-young’s eyes, she stuck her hand out forward and looked at both girls, “I promise to stick close to you guys and we will make it, I won’t leave any of you behind no matter what.” Soo-jin and Hwa-young looked at Min-jee before moving a hand toward her that was in the middle.
“Promise?
“I promise.”
“Me too, Promise.” All three fell into a small comfortable silence before Min-jee moved and tapped on Hwa-young asking if she can nap on her lap, Soo-jin giggled and both girls let the short girl nap.
Nam-ra sat in a different corner on a chair looking at the ground. Na-yeon sat nearby the door
On-jo sat on a chair resting her hand on the table as she looked down with a solemn expression. Cheong-san looked at her and walked over to her, "Are you okay?"
"I keep thinking about I-sak."
"But you held onto her, until the very end." On-jo shook her head, "stop it. That's not comforting."
"You did nothing wrong. Be strong. Your dad or somebody else will come to save us." They both stared outside the window, Cheong-san stayed there for a bit before deciding to move away to let On-jo be.
“Run!” Su-hyeok yelled out as he pushed and hit some zombies to slow them and get them away from them both. Min-jee pushed a few away as she looked around trying to figure out where to go. As she ran by she saw an open classroom, "fuck it," she mumbled. As she glanced inside the room not seeing many zombies, she picked up something from the floor before grabbing Su-hyeok.
With one final push that Su-hyeok did, she grabbed his sleeve and pulled him with her into the class. As she pulled him with her she threw the textbook in her hand roughly so it could hit the wall making noises. The zombies in the room ran over to the textbook. Min-jee crouched down pulling Su-hyeok with her and they both crawled to a table and hide behind it. The zombies moved on from the textbook and walked around mindlessly around the room. One specific zombie got close as it sniffed around but just moved away soon after. Su-hyeok and Min-jee took a quiet deep breath and relaxed a bit the best they could while still having their guard up as they figured out their next move.
For a while, they sat there being aware of their surroundings. Su-hyeok looked around before looking over at Min-jee who was deep in thought, "Move." She looked up and over at the spot he had indicated to move to. It was right across from them, a table with a red tablecloth on top, the cloth reached the bottom which was great. She thought it over at shook her head. He glanced at it knowing it was risky but what else could they do?
“You move.”
“Fine.” Su-hyeok peeked his head out and looked around to see if he was in clear for a small moment. Just as quickly as he checked he moved to that spot. They both waited until Min-jee looked over at the window and pointed toward it. Su-hyeok nodded and got up. An art object fell but was quickly caught, unlike the pencil that was too late to make a grab at. Clink! The pencil fell and one of the zombies on the floor heard. Once it saw Su-hyeok it began to make its way over to him.
“Watch out!” A different zombie spotted her and was going for her until su-hyeok body-slammed it. He had kicked away the one on the floor before going to Min-jee. Su-hyeok pushed a table in front of one of the zombies that were in the room beside the one on the floor. He helped her up and both ran to the window. Min-jee looked behind them as Su-hyeok rushed to open the window. Another zombie came and latched itself onto Su-hyeok. Min-jee grabbed it and pushed it away, Su-hyeok looked back as he climbed onto the window sill before pushing a metal supply storage on the zombie and helping Min-jee out the best he could. Su-hyeok climbed out first almost falling but managed to steady himself. He looked around and rushed to the other side, "Be careful. Come over here on this side."
Min-jee quickly followed right after, she looked down and quickly went over to the side Su-hyeok was on. For a moment she almost didn't make it due to one of them grabbing her leg. She kicked them off but tragically as the zombie that grabbed her fell back, they took Min-jee's shoe with them. Once out and away from them, she pressed her forehead against the window frame.
"Gimme a moment," she mumbled as she let one of her arms go to take off her backpack and transfer it to the front. She maneuvered herself carefully with one hand holding onto the door frame. Su-hyeok stared at her in bewilderment as she did all that taking her sweet time. Soon after she sighed quietly and looked over at him, "what?"
"Nothing." He looked away and looked around. Min-jee looked at the zombies and pouted while glaring at one of them. Su-hyeok glanced at her and the zombies before looking down and closing his eyes as he slightly shook his head. Now they both stood outside standing on the edges.
"We should keep moving," Min-jee said sadly since she lost her shoe. She looked over at the zombies and shook her head at the three zombies that wanted them, especially the one that took her shoe. Su-hyeok looked around and nodded, "okay." Slowly they both began to move horizontally as they were limited.

Police station
"A virus?" Jae-ik said as she stared at Mr. Lee. He shook his head and moved his head down bringing his hand up to his forehead as he sighed, "so what you're saying is this entire mess was created by a virus you created?"
Mr. Lee nodded his head, Jae-ik didn't know what to think, his mind couldn't grasp what Lee Byeong-chan had created. He's heard many things throughout his career, but this... This was different. He dropped his pen down and leaned back against his chair, "Fine. A virus. Why did you create the virus?"
"Detective. Do you have any children?"

Nursery school
Laughter was heard outside by kids playing in the playground. Hee su was in the bathroom, small whimpers would be heard if someone was to walk in. Her legs were wet from her fluids and blood. The floor from the stall Hee-su was at was wet, if you looked closely you could see that there was some blood too. There were some bloody baby wipes on the floor, an opened bottle of rubbing alcohol, medicine, scissors, and a retractable razor knife. Hee-su sat on the toilet and pushed, a loud cry from a baby was heard throughout the bathroom. Hee-su held her newborn as a small tear escaped from her eye before cutting off the umbilical cord and wrapping it in a white cloth/blanket that she found. She put the baby down somewhere safe before cleaning up her mess and washing her hands. She cleaned her legs, wet her face, and fixed her hair. Soon she was done, she walked out and looked back thinking if her decision was the best. As much as she wanted it, it was best not to. She was still young and didn't have any support system unless she was to tell her friends. Hee-su then continued to walk before stopping and looking at a mother interacting with her child. Guilt was forming in Hee-su as well as worry, but she brushed it off and carried on walking away.
.......................
"Could you let your child just die? No parent in the world could do that." Mr. Lee said before getting cut off by Jae-ik, "Enough of your bullshit. Just answer my question. What kind of virus is it and-" before he could finish someone else cut him off after opening the door, "Jae-ik. Emergency. Chief wants everyone to come. Hurry." They were out of breath, but they delivered the quick notice, he then ran off to tell others. Jae-ik got up heading to the door, "it's too late. Everyone will die. Don't bother having hope."
................................
Su-hyeok and Min-jee continued to move until Su-hyeok stopped due to a pipe being in the way, "what happened?"
"Hold on," Su-hyeok went to the edge and hugged the wall as his hand reached for the other side as he did his leg was looking for the edge. Just as he was about to continue his foot slipped, "oh fuck." He whispered from fear before going back to his previous spot, "I can't get to the other side."
"It's fine but can you stop breathing so heavily, you're giving me anxiety. Are you scared of heights?"
"No..."
"We're four levels up, if we fell we'd break or sprain something depending on how well those bushes cushion our fall. So relax or I swear I will push you off just to test it out and Hwa-“ Min-jee coughed to cut herself off before moving on and holding tightly onto the window frames.
"What was that?"
"What was what?"
"In the end, what were you g-" Four bodies fell out from beside them. They looked down as the two of them got up and ran off as if nothing happened. The other two were hanging by a rope. As they continued to look the rope was from the hose the school had, there Cheong-san was hanging while trying his best to kick off the zombie that was hanging on his leg.
"Cheong-san. Look down."
"I know."
"If you know then why don't you kick it off already."
"She's holding on, moron. What are you doing?"
"I know that."
"Drop her then. Drop her now."
"I'm trying," Cheong-san mumbled as he tried his best to kick the zombie off.
"Try harder then."
"What are you doing, you moron?"
"It looks like you're giving her a pat on the head with your foot."
"Hey!" They both yelled out towards Cheong-san who failed to bring himself up on the rope.
"Hey. I'll come to you."
"No, don't come. Don't. Don't come." It was too late Su-hyeok was already making his way over the pipe to the other side. Min-jee just stared at them both.
"I'm coming."
"Don't! I said, don't!"
Su-hyeok struggled a bit even though Min-jee helped him the best she could from the other side, "wait. back up, I can't cross over." Min-jee moved back to her spot and watched Su-hyeok go back too since he failed once again.
"Bare-su, Min-jee, above you!" They both looked up and saw a zombie looking down at them drooling especially at Su-hyeok since he was right above him. His bloody drool fell onto Su-hyeok's cheek. The zombie kept reaching out and just as it looked like it was going to fall Min-jee moved over to a corner away from it while Su-hyeok took a risk and jumped over to the rope. The zombie fell onto the ground before getting up and running off just like the others. The rope jerked slightly from the sudden movement Su-hyeok caused.
"You okay, Min-jee?" Min-jee nodded and looked at them, "yeah... I'm great."
Su-hyeok then looked down and began to climb down from Cheong-san's body, "Hey. My back."
"Stay still. I'll help you."
"What are you doing?" Su-hyeok was now hugging Cheong-san's body, "wait, will you? Moron." He looked down and began to kick the zombie off Cheong-san's leg.
Down below them Gyeong-su, On-jo, Dae-su, and Wu-jin looked out the window, "it's Bare-su. Bare-su!"
"Min-jee is there too. Min-jee!"
"Cheong-san!"
After a few more kicks the zombie's grip lessened and it fell. The teens went in as it fell before sticking their heads out, Gyeong-su stuck half his body out.
"it's Bare-su. Bare-su! Are you okay?"
"Min-jee? Mj! Are you okay too?"
"Shit. I told you to drop her. Why couldn't you drop her?"
"Hey. Stop hugging me. You're grossing me out. We still need to help Min-jee after."
"I'm not hugging you, moron."
"Get lost." Cheong-san looked over and smiled.
"Do you like this?" Su-hyeok smiled and soon both climbed down. They then helped Su-hyeok in especially On-jo who grabbed his hand, "Are you okay Bare-su?"
"Good to see that you're okay."
Cheong-san stood outside holding onto the window frame, "Min-jee give us a second."
"Nah it's cool, take your time."
"Move the rope in her direction maybe?"
Cheong-san nodded at Soo-jin’s suggestion before moving the rope the best he could to get it within Min-jee's reach.
"Do you reach it?"
Min-jee looked at it and shook her head, "try."
"How if I bend down to reach then goodbye me. It won't work."
Cheong-san pursed his lips and held onto the rope while moving back to the open window, "she can't reach."
"Tell her to jump."
"She's not athletic though. She could fall and bye-bye Min-jee."
"Too bad, it was nice knowing her."
“Soo-jin! Shush."
"I was joking lol, give me a moment." Soo-jin walked over to the window and looked up the best she could to look at Min-jee, "Jump!"
"What the fuck do you mean jump?! Are you crazy!"
"Yes, not as much as you, but yes so jump!"
"You jump."
"I'm not the one in your position, just pull an anime move or something." Hwa-young thought for a moment and walked over to Soo-jin and did the same, "that's true, put yourself in some hero, slayer, whatever scenario and go for it." Min-jee leaned her head back and took deep breaths, “That’s not easy.”
“Just do it!” She moved over a bit to get closer to the rope and let one of her hands stretch out while she bent down the best she could. “There’s too many.”
“Then jump!”
"Go for it, you got this!" Cheong-san said as he let go of the rope so that Min-jee could get it easily once she jumped.
"what if I don't and I fall?" Wu-jin and Hyo-ryung-ryeong went over to the window to look out at the girl, "just jump, nothing will happen." yeah besides falling and attracting zombies and there goes Min-jee again.
"It'll be okay Min-jee."
Hwa-young looked up at Min-jee, "We won't let you fall just jump and grab it tightly once it's in your grasp and latch yourself onto it."
"It doesn't look secure, especially after what Su-hyeok did with Cheong-san."
"Don't make it sound like that!"
"Hey! It'll be fine, so jump now."
"Fine... Gimme a moment." Min-jee took a deep breath and pushed herself off the wall jumping off the edge with her arms extended outwards. As soon as she felt the hose in her grasp she grabbed onto it tightly and moved her legs to wrap themselves around it, it's a good thing she wears shorts under. Her eyes were closed tight as she winced from the slight rope burn it caused on her hands as she held it tightly to prevent herself from sliding more. She swung from side to side for a bit due to the impact, she shook a bit before beginning to giggle from fear.
"Is she?..."
"Yeah, she is. She sometimes laughs when scared, hurt, and other random times that she shouldn't."
"Climb down loser."
"Fuck off, I’m Spider-man now.” Min-jee very slowly began to climb down the rope steadily. Soon she reached the others, Gyeong-su, Cheong-san, and Wu-jin helped her in, "Are you okay, Mj?" The girl was unable to respond as she was quickly pulled into a hug
"Don't do that again."
"Close it."
Hwa-young and Soo-jin went towards the short girl and hugged her tightly as they reunited, “I- I can't.. breathe." She whispered as she tapped on both of the tall girl's shoulders, "stupid don't do that again."
"Pull that shit again and I'll push you down the stairs," Soo-jin mumbled soon all let go of Min-jee so that she could breathe due to Ms. Park telling them to do so as she swore she saw the girl turn blue.
"close it. Close the window... Close the window! Please!"
Ms. Park closed the window as Gyeong-su jumped off from where he was and went up to Na-yeon, "didn't you see Cheong-san coming in? We can't close it until he gets in."
"Is it wrong to say to close it?"
"Is your survival all that matters?"
"I can't stand you, stupid welfie."
Everyone stared at Na-yeon as soon as those words left her mouth. Min-jee made a confused face as if asking what did she just say? Hwa-young just stared at Na-yeon. Soo-jin’s mouth fell open in disbelief. Gyeong-su grabbed her shoulder roughly and pushed her to face him causing her to fall back onto a chair behind her, "Hey. What the fuck did you just say?"
Cheong-san grabbed Gyeong-su's arm and pulled him back, "stop it. What is it?"
"Did you just hit me?"
"Yeah, say it again."
Ms. Park looked behind her and rushed forward between the three students, "cut it out. What are you doing?"
"He just hit me."
"You called me a welfie first."
"Was I wrong?"
"How could you say that?" Cheong-san said.
"What's a welfie? Huh? What is it? What's a welfie?"
The trio’s jaws tensed, and Min-jee relaxed a bit as she kept her glare at Na-yeon.
"A person on welfare."
"What?"
"A person on welfare. 'welfie' for short," Su-hyeok spoke before Min-jee could. Ms. Park turned back around to face Na-yeon, "Na-yeon, you're wrong for saying that. Don't you ever say that again. And Gyeong-su, if you hit someone for saying that, you're the one who loses. You understand what I mean right?"
"No." Gyeong-su looked away.
"Kids, we shouldn't be fighting among ourselves right now. We don't know what's going on-"
"Aren't they zombies?"
"Where are the other teachers? Did you call the cops?"
"I'm sure someone did. I don't have my phone."
"We called too, but they're not coming. Both the police and the first responders."
"They'll be here soon. Let's wait here a little longer."
"Ms. Park. Hyeon-ju's hands were cold too. So were I-sak's. What if it started with Hyeon-ju?"
"She went to the hospital."
"Then she must have spread it somehow here."
"then maybe it spread there too."
"Maybe that's why no one's coming." Ms. Park's had a distraught expression as she listened to everyone who spoke up. Joon-Yeong looked at the computer for a while before getting up and limping towards it, "Hold on. This works, right? Hey, the internet."
"Excuse me, Ms. Park."
"Okay."
"Here. Sit," Dae-su grabbed a chair and moved it towards Joon-Yeong so he could sit down, "thanks. Please, work. I assume so."
"Will it work? Is it on?" Most of the students went to crowd around it. Su-hyeok stayed in his corner, Soo-jin sighed and moved over to the table near him so she could watch from afar the students that were huddled up around the computer. Cheong-san looked over at the window as Min-jee moved. Min-jee moved over to the window next to Gyeong-su and pressed her forehead against it and closed her eyes. Soo-jin moved and went to huddle around the computer to see if it worked and if it did to see what was going on even though she and all the others were living the answer.
"Why is it not turning on?"
"It just came on."
"Move the mouse, it's probably asleep."
"I see, sorry."
"It's for work, so it's slow." Min-jee stood there for a while staring at her hands that hurt. She pouted and brushed it off before walking over to the door to look around and went over to the sound room where the intercom was to sit down. She looked at the students through the glass before huddling up on the corner of the table and laying her head down to take a nap.
"Maybe it has no connection."
"No, I'm sure it does."
Nam-ra watched Min-jee go into the other room and glanced at Su-hyeok before walking towards him, and tapping on his shoulder, "I don't think it'll work."
"What?"
"In the science lab."
"I came from the art room. What's in the science room?"
"Oh, well..." Nam-ra looked down as she stumbled from her words slightly. A sound was then heard indicating the computer works, "it worked." Su-hyeok then went over to where everyone was huddled around Joon-Yeong and looked at the screen. Hwa-young looked behind her and saw Min-jee was napping.
"Open the browser."
"The browser."
"Type in 'zombie virus."
"Type in 'zombie' first."
"No, just..."
"No."
"Type in 'Hyosan.'"
"See what's trending." The swinging hose now gained Nam-ra's attention.
"No."
"Damn it."
"Search 'Emergency.'"
"Just go to the news."
"Yeah, try the news."
"There won't be anything."
"What do we type in?"
Joon-Yeong then decided to go on a social media platform and check it out.
................................
Hee-su’s adventure
Hee-su was still pale and weak but she continued to walk down as she arrived at an intersection where a car had stopped near her to drop someone off. she paused on the sidewalk getting dizzy. Looking up she noticed a police car speeding in her direction. She dropped to the ground as the police car crashed into the car that was near Hee-su, it ended up mounting it and almost hitting Hee-su had she not fallen back to the floor. The car's tires continued to roll, two kind strangers rushed over to Hee-su to check on her, "oh my goodness. Are you alright?"
"Are you okay? Get up."
"Stand up." Both strangers grabbed her arm and helped her stand up.
"Call an ambulance."
"Alright. Come this way." A few more civilians rushed over to the police car as the door opened and the policeman fell out. One of the civilians took out their phone and began to record the incident, "what's going on?"
"Are you alright?"
"Are you okay?" Two cops began to spasm on the floor. One held their neck whereas the other was moving around in pain on the floor, he was badly injured. Call an ambulance." As more came to check they realize someone was in the back of the car, "someone is in the back. Come out." They opened the door and the person that came out immediately attacked the nearest person. They were a zombie. The victims screamed in agony while others backed up.
"What's the matter with you?"
"What's wrong with you?"
"Should we take them to the hospital?"
"Oh, my god." The man that was recording said out loud as the others that had been attacked and were attacked began to spasm with bones cracking and moving in ways a human wouldn't.
"Stay away." The man said as he backed up and began to run away while the handcuffed zombie chased him. Hee-su watched, without thinking much about it she ran back into the nursery and grabbed the baby she had left in the corner of the bathroom. She grabbed it and ran outside, it had gotten more chaotic. The phone guy had circled back and fell, the handcuff zombie tore open his stomach and ate them. Hee-su ran away with her guard up while holding her newborn baby. Others ran away, and a few screams were heard.
................................
"I'll check Facebook." Joon-Yeong typed on the board before pushing his glasses up, Dae-su turned to look at him, "I'm on Instagram."
"How many followers do you have?" Dae-su looked away focusing back on the screen, "check Facebook."
The Notifications sound popped around a few times once Joon-Yeong had logged in. He had a lot of notifications, he mumbled an okay as he searched for what they needed to search.
"How many friends do you have? You have so many alerts. You have over 1,700!" Joon-Yeong didn't respond, a few seconds after he found a video that was taken not that long ago. The video was recorded of a cop car that crashed and an infected person attacking whoever was near, "that's strange... I'll check the messages first." He typed around again but stopped. Everyone had gotten startled by the hose that broke the window, "fuck! What the..."
"What the hell?"
"Fuck."
"What the hell? What was that?" The hose continued to sway back and forth breaking the window more, glass shattered spreading everywhere.
"Did someone not make it in?" Wu-jin asked. Cheong-san carefully walked towards the window keeping his eyes on it, "No. We're all here."
"Don't go!"
"Cheong-san. Be careful."
"Do you see something?"
"What is it?" Gyeong-su carefully walked towards them and looked around before waving at the other students, "It must be the wind."
"Tsk, that scared me." Cheong-san leaned forward about to stick his head out to check it out until he quickly stepped back due to a zombie appearing out of nowhere as they hung upside down.
Hwa-young and Soo-jin were staring at each other until Soo-jin clapped her hands close to Hwa-young’s face causing her to flinch slightly and close her eyes, "Hey cheater." Hwa-young said in hushed tones. They both then went back to bantering and giggling.
Gyeong-su sat nearby a wall looking down at a book to read it even though he would constantly turn the pages and skip some too.
Nam-ra was beside him deep in thought, she leaned up against the small stool in front of her. Besides her, Dae-su and Wu-jin were whispering to each other and bantering just like the other two girls. "Fuck you," Wu-jin whispered while smacking Dae-su's forehead. Dae-su who was distracted looked over at his friend, "Why'd you do that?"
"There was a fly." Responded Wu-jin.
Cheong-san looked over at On-jo but would occasionally also glance over at the outside. I-sak then moved away from where she was and went over to Cheong-san., “You talked to On-jo, right?... She told Su-hyeok she likes him."
"Okay, so?"
"Why don't you go and comfort her? I keep trying, but you know."
"No, forget it." Cheong-san immediately shut down I-sak's suggestion.
"Why are you getting annoyed?"
"Why does it have to be my business who she likes?"
"Nevermind," I-sak said now annoyed by Cheong-san's attitude, and walked away going over to her best friend who was standing near the window.
Soo-jin hushed covered Hwa-young’s mouth slightly and pointed towards I-sak who went back to On-jo, "shush, I wanna hear them."
"Nosy much?" Hwa-young mumbled as she removed Soo-jin’s hand.
"Shut up, we both know you want to too. Don't think I forgot you were off on the side hearing On-jo and Su-hyeok out in the hallway."
"Don't worry too much. I'm sure Su-hyeok and Min-jee will be just fine" I-sak said. On-jo looked away as she thought about what her friend was telling her, "He's a great athlete and super fast." I-sak told her, this time she left Min-jee out since the girl wasn't worried the most about her since she wasn't her crush.
"Mhmm," On-jo nodded her head, I-sak then moved her hand and intertwined them with On-jo's as a sense of comfort for the girl. I-sak waited for a moment before speaking up again, "But, Cheong-san's being super weird. He's so annoying. I think... He's so into you. It's totally obvious!" I-sak told her best friend with a smile on her face. On-jo kept her eyes looking down outside, "I don't think so. He doesn't feel things like that. He's too busy teasing me all the time." On-jo then looked off to the side and down to I-sak's hand who's felt weird to her, "I-sak... Why are you so cold?" On-jo asked looking at her friend.
"So cold?" Repeated I-sak in confusion about what the girl had meant. On-jo then brought up her hand and held it up close to her face pressing it against her cheek, "Your hand is really..." The girl trailed off and looked down at her friend whose nose had begun to bleed.
"What about my hand?" I-sak retreated her hand and wiped her nose as she felt something trickle down. Smeared blood was on her hand. It was then that she remembered out in the hall when everyone was pushing back the zombies she felt something pinch her in her ankle. She didn't think much about it as she was too caught up in pushing back the zombies.
Soo-jin glanced at Hwa-young as they both got up to get closer to the two girls, "I-sak..." One of them whispered.
"What's wrong? Are you-" I-sak kept wiping her nose even though more blood would flow out, “Nothing… I’m fine. Really. I wasn't bitten." As soon as those words left her mouth, they caught everyone's attention, "I mean it. I really wasn't bitten."
"She was bitten."
"What's going on?" Na-yeon asked as she looked up at the two girls and got up quickly, "Did you get bitten?"
"I said I wasn't!" I-sak yelled and ran over to a mirror the science teacher had in his classroom they were in. On-jo felt as if her world was breaking down, she knew what this meant but another side of her wanted to ignore it. I-sak looked at herself and saw that the blood has dropped down to her chin. Her skin was turning sick and pale. Her eyes were beginning to become bloodshot and dilated. Gyeong-su walked over to her, "Hey. Are you okay?" I-sak didn't respond but instead looked off at her friends, her vision was red, "On-jo."
"I-sak."
They both walk towards each other, On-jo reached out and grabbed I-sak's hands. "No, right? I'm not, right?" The sickly pale girl said while giving her friend a small smile. On-jo stared at her with tears in her eyes not trusting her voice and instead moved forward and hugged her. I-sak pushed her away softly, "I'm not. I'm not one of them." On-jo just looked at her and went in for a hug again, I-sak was struggling as she was in denial.
"What are you doing? Get her out of here right now!"
"Shit. They're going to climb over."
"Na-yeon, how many times do I have to tell you?! Shut the fuck up, look at what you did." Soo-jin whispered yelled and had the urge to go pull her hair but didn't as Hwa-young held onto her as she didn't want Soo-jin to leave her side as she stared at I-sak and On-jo.
"No. Come on. I said I'm okay!" Everyone stared at the girl with sadness and fear. Cheong-san then walked up to them and pulled On-jo away from her. On-jo whimpered as she was pulled away far away from her friend.
"On-jo," I-sak said before she fell on the floor.
"Let go," On-jo said as she struggled against Cheong-san. I-sak's body moved slightly, her bones were starting to shift around as they crackled underneath her skin.
"Hurry up! Do something! Throw her out the window."
"No. Let go." On-jo cried out as she tried to take off Cheong-san's hands off of her.
"Hurry! She's turning into a zombie!" Na-yeon kept screaming. I-sak rose and spasmed before turning away from them.
"I-sak, please don't." The now-turned girl stoop up and turned over to On-jo and Cheong-san. Everyone watched, Dae-su and Gyeong-su were taking care of the barricade so that it wouldn't fall over.
"I-sak... I-sak, don't do this." Zombie I-sak growled and went towards them to attack. Cheong-san pushed On-jo away and pushed the zombie away with all his strength. The zombie stumbled, Cheong-san grabbed a stool that was nearby and hit the zombie with it.
"Stop it, please!" Cheong-san fought against the zombie, he managed to push it away and grabbed another stool.
"Cheong-san!" On-jo screamed out, the zombie, and Cheong-san turned their attention to On-jo. Cheong-san quickly dropped the chair and ran to push the zombie away from On-jo. The zombie flew out but managed to grab the window's bottom side. Just as it was about to fall On-jo reached out and grabbed their hand. On-jo cried as she held onto her now ex-best friend. Cheong-san reached over and tried to remove her hand from them, "Are you crazy? Let go."
"I-sak." One student struggled to hold the zombie whereas the other was trying to get her to let go. The zombie dangled and moved around trying to get to Cheong-san and On-jo, "you have to let go." On-jo was sobbing as she still wanted to hold onto her friend even though her friend was snarling at her. Cheong-san looked over behind him as he heard Na-yeon say here, she had kicked a stool over at them. Cheong-san moved away to grab the stool and went back. He then began to hit the zombie on its arms to shake it off. With a harsh hit, On-jo let go and watched her turned-best friend fall. The zombie growled and clawed at the air as it fell. A harsh thud was heard. On-jo closed her eyes before she could see the body hit the ground. On-jo stood up still staring out, Cheong-san soon followed and turned to the girl, "On-jo." He called her out gently while moving his hand to her shoulder. On-jo stared at him and rather than saying something she squatted down and sobbed. Most stared at the girl, Hyo-ryung teared up as well as Hwa-young, Soo-jin glanced down at her friend before looking away. Everything was silent for a moment besides the growls from outside. Two students now turned and two currently missing.
"Come block this!" Gyeong-su yelled out, Soo-jin went over to him with Hwa-young and both helped him.
Soon everyone was sitting around quietly, Cheong-san approached On-jo who was being comforted by Ji-min and Hyo-ryung. Cheong-san knew nothing he said would help instead he turned away and look over at his friends that were struggling a bit. He looked around for a moment, and a sudden thought crossed his mind, "Let's go. We're not gonna last here long."
Wu-jin looked at Cheong-san as he spoke still pressing his back against the desks and chairs stacked on top of each other, "Where would we go and how?"
"The rope from earlier. Gyeong-su."
"Yes?... What?" Gyeong-su stared at Cheong-san confused about why he called him, "what is it?" Hwa-young glanced at him before shaking her head. Soo-jin was slightly confused until Hwa-young spoke up, "you want us to open the door a bit right?" She then looked at Cheong-san who was already staring back at her, "Yes."
"It's a bad idea."
"It's the only idea we have."
Hwa-young shook her head and grabbed Soo-jin’s hand to move her away a bit. Cheong-san walked up to them and stood next to Gyeong-su who had stopped holding the barricade. Both boys stood close by, "Open it just a little. Enough for the hose to fit." Gyeong-su sighed now agreeing with Hwa-young, "isn't it better to wait until the rescuers come?"
"We could all die if we wait."
"This might kill us faster. If we-"
"Is waiting for someone the best thing we can do?"
"Screw it. I've never given my best at anything other than playing." Gyeong-su said before going to remove some things so that they could access the door easily. Slowly the door slides open revealing Cheong-san. He looked around and stuck his arm out to reach for the hose, just as he reached out a few seconds after he retreated his arm back as he heard a zombie walk by nearly stepping on him.
Cheong-san reached out two more times but ended up failing the third time all because another zombie walked by kicking the hose further away from his reach. Slowly he closed the door and stood up, immediately he went to go search for something he could use.
"Did you get it? Where are you going?" Cheong-san opened Mr. Byeong-chan's office and searched for something he could use, he saw an anatomical model. He detached its arm and went straight back to slide the door open quietly. He stuck its arm as well as his own and moved it around trying to get the hose. After struggling for a good few minutes and having the hose kicked away again, he finally managed to get it. Quickly he retreated his arm bringing it forward with the hose. Once he had it he pulled in the remains and shut the door. He backed up pulling the hose's rope in. Gyeong-su moved to help and told Soo-jin and Nam-ra to hold the door. Hwa-young went over to Cheong-san and helped them reel in the remaining hose until it stopped.
"Help make knots."
"How?"
"Wrap it and tie it. So that a hand or a foot can fit."
"Big enough for a foot?"
Soo-jin stared at the rope in her hands, "It's best to do it zigzag."
Joon-yeong nodded, "tie them zigzag. In 50-centimeter increments."
"Zigzag."
Ji-min looked at the pattern they were in and moved a bit to the side.
"Is this right?"
"Move over a bit."
Soo-jin, Gyeong-su, Ji-min, and Cheong-san started to make knots on the hose.
"Good enough, right?"
Cheong-san finished and looked up at the remaining students, "Let's go." Everyone stared at him for a moment before moving. Gyeong-su grabbed a chair and placed it near the window. He then slid it open, Cheong-san who had the rope tossed it out carefully.
"Can we make it?" Both boys looked outside over the edge.
"We have to," Soo-jin mumbled.
"I'll go down and check the empty rooms. Come when I tell you to."
"Be careful."
Just as Cheong-san was about to go he looked at On-jo who was sitting down staring down at the table. Hwa-young was looking at Soo-jin as they held the barricade, they were talking to each other in hushed tones. Nam-ra was listening to them as she stared at Soo-jin subtly.
"Hold it. What are you doing?" Gyeong-su looked back over at what he was looking at and turned to Cheong-san, "what are you doing? Go down."
Cheong-san pondered for a moment and stepped off back into the classroom.
"What?"
"Gyeong-su, you go first."
"Why? Did you see something?"
"No. You go."
"What's down there?"
Wu-jin looked at Cheong-san and over to Gyeong-su, "Just go. Hurry."
"You go, then."
"Go already. Step up there."
"You should."
"Then you go, asshole."
"No. You can do it. You got this."
"Damn it." Gyeong-su climbed up and turned to face them, "But why am I-"
"Grab it and go."
"Rock, paper, scissors?"
"Just go."
"I mean..."
"Don't be a wimp."
"Hey. Hold on.." Gyeong-su lowed himself down grabbing onto the rope.
"Where is it? Hold on."
"Can you reach it?"
"Wait, I can't."
"Put your foot in."
He looked down as he moved downwards making sure he held onto the rope tightly, correctly, and steadily, "Oh, I got it."
Shakily Gyeong-su climbed down, "Damn it. Where is it?" He carried on still struggling. A zombie in one of the classrooms ran over to him and growled a few others followed the zombie that was near the window, "Shit. You scared me. Damn it... I'll keep going" He slowly mumbled as the zombies knocked on the window. He then resumed his mission and climbed down. The bottom of the hose clunked onto the announcement room's window. Ms. Park looked up over at the tapping on the window, "What is that?" She mumbled to herself as she stood up and opened the door sticking her head out to see what it was. It was Gyeong-su who was still climbing down.
………
Na-yeon looked over, "I want to go down first." Wu-jin and Cheong-san looked at her and moved her back, "One person at a time. You might fall if it shakes too much."
"I won't shake it." She looked over at the barricade and meet Hwa-young’s stare, Na-yeon then looked back at Cheong-san, "How long do I have to wait?"
"Just a little while."
………
Gyeong-su almost reached the end, he struggled to unstick his foot from the knots, "Shit. Why won't you come out." He said to himself and climbed. Ms. Park watched the person climb before recognizing who they were, "G-Gyeong-su!" Ms. Park called out and rushed forward to open the window.
"Ms. Park!" Gyeong-su squatted a bit once Ms. Park opened the window.
"Are you okay?"
"Hurry get in, be careful.” Ms. Park mumbled as she helped him in.
"Oh, right." He remembered about the other and stuck his head out, "Cheong-san! Ms. Park is here!" Cheong-san who was peeking over stood up to announce to the others that Ms. Park was on the second floor.
"Second floor? The broadcasting room?"
………
"Are you okay?" Ask Ms. Park as she looked at her student.
"Yes," Gyeong-su said as he looked at her and outside.
"Were you with the others?"
"They're in the science lab. They'll come down now. Come down! Okay? Come down."
Ms. Park looked outside facing up before going back in, she let out a small sigh of relief before hitting Gyeong-su, "seriously!"
Gyeong-su was confused, "what?" Hastily they both moved to look out of the window facing up. After a few minutes, Na-yeon arrived, "Careful. I got you. Hold on."
"Dae-su."
"You're so heavy."
"Careful."
"Dae-su."
"Ms. Park." Dae-su quickly hugged them and helped them bring in the others. Ji-min looked up at Cheong-san and Wu-jin, "Come down safely." She said before climbing down to go with the others, "Grab the window frame."
Hyo-ryung saw Ji-min leaving, reluctantly she got up and went to go down too, "Grab her."
"Let go."
Joon-Yeong climbed down and cried out a bit, "I have a cramp!"
"You okay?"
"Ah Joon-Yeong, right?" Ms. Park and Dae-su helped him a bit, "What's wrong?"
"Straighten your knee."
"Don't bend his foot like that. Joon-Yeong, move your hand."
Once they helped him Wu-jin came, "Not my legs!"
"Watch out for your neck."
"Good. You did great."
Nam-ra left the barricade and went to the side to grab a pen and paper. She then wrote a small note for Su-hyeok and Min-jee telling them that they were in the recording room. Right after she wrote that she stuck it onto the wall where it was noticeable and glanced over at Hwa-young and Soo-jin before going over to the window to climb down, "Put your foot here."
"Nam-ra!"
Soo-jin looked at Hwa-young and nodded, she soon followed Nam-ra waiting for her to go into the room before climbing down, "Let go."
“Hwa-young!”
Soo-jin stared at the sticky note and gulped slightly. She looked over at the door that was beginning to open slowly as the zombies kept moving around. She looked over at the two remaining students, her eyes lingering a bit on On-jo before looking over at Cheong-san who was looking already looking at her, "We'll go down soon. Okay?" Soo-jin nodded telling them both to be careful, she also threatened On-jo a bit telling her that she expects her down there with them. Soo-jin climbed down carefully, after a few minutes Soo-jin arrived, "Go more down."
“Soo-jin!"
Zombies were beginning to already push through the barrier, Cheong-san went over to On-jo and grabbed her hand to pull her up towards the rope, "Go down." On-jo pulled away looking down.
"I-sak..."
"Get it together. Who here hasn't lost a friend? Think of all the people who died. Why are you..."
"There's no one left that I like."
"There are people who like you though. Like your dad, Min-jee, Hwa-young, Soo-jin, and..." Cheong-san stared at her as thought about who else to name although he didn't include himself for reasons, "You have to live for them." On-jo looked up at him. Cheong-san pulled up the rope a bit and looked at On-jo, "Let's go." On-jo nodded and soon began to climb down the window carefully. Cheong-san watched her and would occasionally look back, the door was now open wide enough for half a body to slip through. Cheong-san went up onto the window looking at On-jo climb down and back over to the zombies that broke through the door, "Hurry. Hurry up" Cheong-san soon made it and was pulled in, "Grab her. Okay"
"Watch your head."
"Careful." On-jo carefully went in and looked back over at the window.
Cheong-san looked behind him moving himself to face the zombies that had piled in earlier when they broke the door. They were now standing and running towards him. One threw itself at him, and Cheong-san fell back with it. Two more threw themselves out in hopes of getting ahold of Cheong-san. Everyone stared outside of the window not moving to see if Cheong-san had made it or not.
"...You were with him.” She turned over to Cheong-san.
“He was behind me, but..."
"Then where is he?”
"I don't know."
“Wait we are another person short..”
"We're missing Min-jee too," Wu-Jin said as he looked around noticing the familiar girl's presence wasn't around.
"They're both missing.."
Hwa-young looked at Soo-jin who in turn only frowned at her, both were worried for their friend and Su-hyeok.
Nam-ra looked outside in search of Su-hyeok and Min-jee but found nothing all she saw were two zombies that ran by and one appear to close up to block out her view.
……………..
Soft cries were heard Yoon Gwi-Nam looked over at the crying girl before moving forward to cover her mouth, "You. Shut your mouth." She softly whimpered. Gwi-Nam heard a slight gurgle sound and looked over to see it was a zombie. He waited for a moment as it dawned on him that it was either her or him. With that, he pushed her out from where they were underneath. The girl crawled away to get far but was unsuccessful. Her screams were heard as well as her flesh being bitten off. Shin Hyung-Seo and Gwi-Nam flinched at the sound but remained quiet. They both ended there when the outbreak began in the cafeteria. With nowhere to run Gwi-Nam went to the kitchen, sacrificed the lunch lady, and hid under what appeared to be a stove. Hyung-Seo was already there.
……………..
"Rescue team Three, head to Hyosan Hospital. Team four, head over to the accident at the Hyosan intersection. Team two, you have another call. Fire, Hyosan High School. Please head there right away. Ambulance One, stay where you are."
So-ju looked at the radio and picked it up, "Team One. We've arrived at the accident." Soon other dispatchers answered in order.
"Rescue Team Two. We'll head to the accident at Hyosan High School."
"Accident reports keep coming in. All units, standby where you are."
Nam So-Ju, Kim U-Sin, and Park Young-hwan got out of the vehicle. So-ju looked over to the side as he heard a female scream, a blackbird flew by and landed above them. They looked at the bird for a moment before So-ju told them let's go. All three medical dispatchers ran into the building.
……………..
Park Mi-Jin smoked a cigarette in the bathroom stall while sitting on the covered toilet seat quietly.
"We should stay here a bit longer."
"Right. Okay."
Plastic was heard for a bit before a small thud hit the floor, Mi-jin had just thrown the now empty cigarette box on the floor.
"Do you think they're gone?" Yoo Joon-sung said as he stood by the bathroom stall's door.
"What do we do? Shouldn't we call the cops?" Lee Ha-lim replied as she sat on the covered toilet.
"We can't go out now."
"I'm sure they're still out there."
"Who's smoking in this situation?"
"Who are you to hide in the girls' room? Be a man. Wimp." Mi-jin said while taking a small drag from her cigar.
"Why, you... Who are you?"
"Leave her alone. It's Mi-jin." Ha-lim reached out to grab Joon-sung's wrist.
"Mi-jin? Park Mi-jin?"
"Yes."
"Joon-sung. I'm really dizzy." She said sickly, she looked sick too.
"Is it bad? What do we do?"
"I don't know. It's weird. Every sound is muffled, and I'm dizzy." Mi-jin was minding her business until she heard Ha-lim explain what she felt. She looked over at them before resuming back to her quick smoke session.
"Ha-lim, it's probably just from the shock."
Let's go to the hospital once things calm down outside, okay?"
"Okay." A squeak was heard as a bathroom stall was unlocked and opened. Mi-jin then knocked on their door.
"What is it? Who is it?"
"Hey, open up." She then bangs on the door before going to kick it, "Open up. Now!"
"Why, you-" Joon-sung mumbled as he unlocked the door. Just as he opened it he was pulled outside by Mi-jin, "get out."
"What are you doing?"
"Don't move," Mi-jin said while pushing Ha-lim back with a toilet plunger. She searched the girl for a bite.
"What's wrong?" The sick girl asked before she groaned in pain due to Mi-jin reaching out towards her to push aside her shirt. There on Ha-lim's body near her shoulder was a bite mark. Mi-jin moved back and immediately shut the door.
"What are you doing?"
"Fuck, let go of me!" Mi-jin yelled out while pushing away Joon-sung's arm from her.
"Mi-jin," Ha-lim said while looking at the door thinking about how to get out.
"Listen carefully. You know how to play tag, right? We're all hiding here to get away from someone. But now... You're it." Ha-lim's nose began to bleed, small whimpers were heard as she began to cry silently.
"Don't just stand there! Help!" Mi-jin yelled at Joon-sung who was just standing there on the side whereas Mi-jin was holding the door, struggling, to prevent Ha-lim from coming out.
"But Ha-lim's in there."
"Ugh, She was bitten. Do you get that? Now, help." Reluctantly Joon-sung went to help Mi-jin.
"Mi-jin, don't do this... I'm okay... Let me out." Mi-jin glanced at Joon-sung before backing up from the door slightly, "Shut up, zombie."
"Joon-sung, don't do this. Let me out." Ha-lim began to plea. The blood fr her nose continues to run down spreading slightly on her pale lips and now down her chin. She kept trying to get the door open, but failed miserably, "We ran away together earlier. I save you."
Those words seem to have hit a spot on Joon-sung, Mi-jin came back after going to the cleaning supply corner and grabbed a mop, "If you let her out, we all die."
Ha-lim gave up in trying to get them to open the door and instead grabbed the metal above the bathroom stall's door and pulled herself up.
"Shit. Shit!" Mi-jin panicked a bit and thrust the mop in Ha-lim's face. Ha-lim fell back, the back of her head smacking the metal part of where the toilet was connected to the wall.
"Get it together! Look up."
"What do you want from me?" Joon-sung exclaimed.
"We have to kill her."
"Kill Ha-lim?"
"She's not Ha-lim anymore. She's a... Zombie." Ha-lim's eyes rolled back as she began to transform. Somehow she managed to look more pale and sick, her bones began to crack, eyes turned bloodshot red. "Still, I don't wanna," Joon-sung said. Ha-lim looked over at the door panting, the virus was still fighting her and would soon take her over.
"Do we have any other options?"
"I don't know."
"Mi-jin. I hear you." Ha-lim said weakly.
"I know."
"Do you really have to do that to me?"
Mi-jin didn't like this, but she couldn't figure out any other way, "You're going to turn, eventually."
"I- I know. But you..." Ha-lim began to struggle to speak, but continued, "I will kill you first. I'll kill you before anyone else."
"Bitch."
"Mi-jin. I'm so scared" Ha-lim cried out before arching her back in pain. Bones crunching and body spasmed. The door began to shake due to zombie Ha-lim hitting it. Mi-jin stomped on the mop on the end causing it to break, "get ready." She said glancing at the door before looking at Joon-sung, "Hey! I said get ready."
"For what?"
"We gotta kill her." Mi-jin took small deep breaths to prepare herself before seeing that Joon-sung wasn't moving, "Are you gonna hold that forever?" Joon-sung looked at her and slowly let go, his hands slid down the door, and took a few steps back quietly and slowly. The door creaked open, and there zombie Ha-lim was biting the air, she turned around as the door opened. A loud growl was heard, Ha-lim now a zombie went straight for Mi-jin. If Mi-jin could change this she would, she gripped the now broken mop and lunged the spikey part of the broken mop into the zombie's mouth, and out came through its neck. The zombies growled unfazed and continued to walk toward Mi-jin. More and more did the zombie slide down the stick, "What are you doing?!" Mi-jin yelled out to Joon-sung who was hiding in a corner behind her. After wincing and groaning he went to help Mi-jin push the zombie back, "Why won't she die?" Joon-sung said while panicking.
"I don't know. Maybe it's not the right spot." The zombie grabbed onto the side of the stall and pushed forward against them. Soon its head lopsided and it stopped growling and an arrow had lodged itself through her neck. A few seconds after it fell, "What?" Mi-jin and Joon-sung let go of the mop letting the body fall. Mi-jin turned towards the door. Jang Ha-ri walked in a stance ready to hit them with an arrow too. Immediately Mi-jin and Joon-sung put their hands up, "Stop. Not us. We're fine." Ha-ri ignored her, instead, she pulled her arm that held the arrow in between the bow's bowstring back more.
"Not us, Jackass!" Hearing someone yell, Jung Min-Jae hurried in to look at what was happening, "Hey, I think they're okay. Zombies don't curse."
Ha-ri didn't budge, "Shoot if they turn." Min-Jae didn't question her, instead, he just followed her instructions.
"You crazy bitch. We're fine- ahh" just as she was about to push Ha-ri the speakers of the school squeaked loudly.
……………..
Ms. Park took a moment and rubbed her hands on her shirt as she desperately wanted the blood off of her hands, she looked around the room before going over to the Microphone connected to the intercoms around the school. She took a deep breath and pressed the button. All the students in the school winched at the loud sound the speakers produced, soon it was replaced by Ms. Park's voice.
"Students and teachers of Hyosan High School. I'm Park Sun-Hwa, the English teacher. Something strange is happening throughout the school. Some students are attacking others indiscriminately. So please flee and find a safe place. And if any student or faculty hears this and is able to, please call the police and the fire department. Students, hide somewhere safe until help arrives. If you can get out of the school, please get out. I'll say it again. Some students are..." Ms. Park looked down and took a deep breath as she swallowed back her fear, "Hey, everyone... You're okay, right? You're not hurt, right? I don't know what's going on in here or how this whole thing happened, but... Still, find a safe place and hide. I... I'm sorry... I can't help. Don't get hurt, okay? Please, let's stay alive and meet again. Okay?"
All students backed up, Gyeong-su who was closer had quickly backed up as a result of him falling when someone abruptly came in. It was Mr. Kang, Kang Jin-gu, he slammed the door shut and looked at the fifteen students while backing up against the door still frightened and out of breath. Everyone stared at him as he stared back.
"Mr. Kang," someone mumbled, it was silent for a minute before Mr. Kang spoke, "Are you guys okay?" He asked. Gyeong-su and Hwa-young were the only ones who nodded while everyone just stared. Mr. Kang let out a sigh of relief, gyeong-su moved and walked toward him, "What about you? You weren't bit right?"
"No. Of course not. I'm fine," The teacher replied before looking at the class with a small smile on his face, "Hey, guys. Let's barricade the door first." Slowly the students moved forward, "Get moving. Hurry. It's okay. We are safe. Let's move this." He ordered. Mostly all the guys besides On-jo and the trio were helping out. Some of the girls lagged a bit before moving to help barricade the door.
"Like this?"
"Yes. Stack them high. High."
Chairs and tables screeched as the students grabbed them to use for barricading the door. The trio helped a bit, Hwa-young who was a bit spectacle about him tugged on Min-jee's sweater and Soo-jin's shirt pulling them to the side where he wouldn't notice them seeing as he was busy with stacking up the tables and ordering the kids to do so.
"What's up," Soo-jin asked Hwa-young in a hushed tone, both girls looked at Hwa-young whose eyes were on the teacher, " I don't trust him. Let's stay here for now." "Shouldn't we he-" Hwa-young immediately shook her head, both girls nodded trusting their friend and stood close to her. I-sak who noticed looked over at the teacher.
"You called the cops, right? We can leave soon, right?" Asked Na-yeon. Mr. Kang without hesitation nor paying much attention said yes while going over to a few students who were slacking, "What are you doing? Block the front door and stack it. Pile them up high. High!" He helped them pile up the tables.
"Stack them up, higher higher."
"Push it closer to the door. More"
I-sak rushed over to On-jo grabbing her arm to stop her while staring over in Mr. King's direction as they almost finished stacking up the tables, "On-jo, what do we do?" On-jo stared at her, "What?"
"Look. His arm." She replied On-jo looked over at Mr. King's arm, on his right arm over on the side where it was still noticeable a bite mark was there, "Mr. Kang." On-jo called him out, "your arm." Mr. Kang looked over at her, "What are you doing? You three over in the corner, help block the door."
"You were bitten on your arm!" She called out, everyone looked over at her.
"What?" Everything turned quiet as the students looked at On-jo.
Mr. Kang looked at his hands and arm.
"What is it?"
"This isn't a bite," he finally said while looking at his arms.
"He said he wasn't bit."
"No," Mr. Kang continued while in denial, "I wasn't bit." He looked up at them and his arm, panic evident on his face and action and he pulled his sleeve down.
"It's a bite mark," Hwa-young said before On-jo could.
"I said it wasn't. Don't talk back to me." Mr. Kang said defensively.
"Were you really bitten?" I-sak asked even though she saw the bite mark. Soo-jin moved forward, "he was, look how defensive-"
"I wasn't! How many times do I have to tell you!?"
"Then why are you hiding it? Just show it to us!" I-sak yelled back taking a few steps forward. On-jo reached out to her and Wu-jin moved forward a bit.
Mr. Kang stayed silent for a moment staring at I-sak with disbelief and annoyance on his face. I-sak then broke the silence, "Can you please leave."
"What?"
"Get out." I-sak said as she took a few steps forward On-jo grabbed her arm, "leave."
"You want me to go out there? After all, I did to get here? You want me to go back out!?"
"You were bit. Get out. ...Get out!" I-sak screamed at him, Min-jee looked at I-sak before returning her attention to Mr. Jang, "you fucking bitch! How dare you tell at a teacher."
"Ah...tch How dare you just come in here only to lie to our face and order us around. Was your plan to come through and take us down with you?!" Min-jee yelled back and moved forward while grabbing I-sak from the back of her sweater and pushing her back behind her.
"You little.. come closer... Come closer!... Come here!" He said while switching his attention between I-sak and Min-jee. Mr. Jang then gave her a subtle smirk, "you won't come?" He said while walking towards them, Min-jee stayed still, I-sak took a step back, and On-jo held onto her and was about to grab Min-jee from her sweater, but wasn't able to.
"Hey." Mr. Jang got closer, On-jo moved in front of I-sak and stared at Min-jee who stayed in the same place. As Mr. Jang got close to Min-jee. She stared at him and was about to grab a textbook near her, Soo-jin went towards Min-jee with Hwa-young following close behind but was grabbed from their sweaters by Gyeong-su and Cheong-san. Na-yeon squatted down and covered her ears. Wu-Jin, Su-hyeok, and Dae-su held each other. Min-ji held a chair while Ji-min stood next to her, Hyo-ryung was behind Cheong-san and gyeong-su with Soo-jin and Hwa-young next to her. All stared at the teacher.
"Stop. Stop it."
"He was bit."
"Soo-jin... don't."
"Wait."
"Step back."
"Min-jee move."
Mr. Kang then began to get a nosebleed before he could get to Min-jee. he looked down to wipe it and looked at his hand. At that moment On-jo took the distraction to grab Min-jee from her sweater and pull her back to put more distance away from him.
"Hey look."
"He's beginning to bleed."
Mr. Kang turned to the side still wiping his nose, Su-hyeok, Dae-su, and Wu-jin who were near Mr. Jang backed up as he turned his back against the three girls. Once On-jo had pulled Min-jee back, she grabbed a random backpack from the floor and hit Mr. Jang from the back. Mr. Jang stood still before looking back over at her, Min-jee grabbed On-jo by her sleeve pulling her back. Cheong-san rushed forward toward On-jo, Wu-Jin was about to go but was held back by Su-hyeok and Dae-su. Gyeong-su was about to do the same but instead stayed still to keep Soo-jin and Hwa-young beside him.
"Are you out of your mind?" Mr. Jang said once he turned around and took a step forward with his hand raised to hit them before falling over.
"Stay back!"
"Watch out!"
Some students gasped, and some held each other. All the students looked at the teacher's body which was now lying on the ground.
"Damn."
"Hey. I think he really was bit."
"Shouldn't we get out of here?"
"Stay back, he might move."
"Hey. He's turning." Mr. Jang's body at first shivered a bit before it then began to convulse, among the small chatter of the students panicking Mr. Jang's bones cracked.
"Get him out of here! Hurry! Hurry! Throw him out!" Na-yeon called out while covering her ears and glancing over at the now-turned teacher who reached out to students before getting up, as he snarled his eyes laid first upon Min-ji.
"Min-ji!" Called out Dae-su who was about to go towards her but was held back by Su-hyeok, "Dae-su, wait!"
"Do something!" Before anyone could Min-ji was thrown on the floor and bitten on the left top corner of her lip.
"No! Dae-su!" Dae-su broke away from Su-hyeok and rushed towards Min-ji, he pulled Mr. Jang off of her.
Mr. Jang's mouth was now red from Min-ji's blood, as he was pulled away he scratched the air while snarling. Dae-su proceeded to throw him to the side having Mr.Jang’s back hit the floor. With shaky hands Min-ji brought her hand up to her mouth and looked down at her hand, she looked up and around as she held her hand up slightly, and her teary eyes landed on Dae-su, "Min-ji.." Dae-su mumbled.
Min”-ji was scared as she did not want to become like what the others had become, “Dae-su. What do I do? I don't want to die." She hiccuped. Dae-su looked at her with sad eyes not knowing what to do.
Mr. Jang had now fully changed given the fact that he had bloodshot eyes. He got up once again from the floor and went to attack the others. Wu-Jin and Su-hyeok moved away from each other as Mr. Jang targeted them. He turned to Su-hyeok and swung his arm at him.
"Hurry. Get him out of here!" Su-hyeok managed to dodge him and punched the ex-teacher. Mr. Jang went in for a bite but instead was pushed back. Falling on the floor some of his bones crunched, he turned his attention towards Cheong-san. Cheong-san grabbed the nearest table and used it to push Mr. Jang away. Cheong-san struggled a bit, "Cheong-san," called out gyeong-su before he went to go help him.
“If we manage to take him out, we will still be compromised, we need to go to a difficult room.”
“Fuck, that means we have to run.”
"I don't want to die. Help me." Min-ji said while looking at her classmates specifically Dae-su.
Hwa-young grabbed Soo-jin’s hand and rushed over to the nearest door and began to take the barricade down. Na-yeon followed and helped them take down the tables so that they can get out of the room. Hwa-young and Soo-jin continued to move the tables away from the door, Na-yeon paused and turned around as she heard footsteps behind her, "Stay away. Get away from me. Get away!" She yelled in fear before leaning on a table and pushing Min-ji with her foot away from her. Min-ji fell back, and Dae-su held his arms out to catch her but didn't. Min-ji was beginning to turn too as her bones cracked and she began to quiver slightly. She groaned slightly, turned around holding her hand out to Dae-su asking for help before she fell unconscious on the floor. Hyo-ryung hid behind Ji-min, and both girls watched Min-ji in fear and with caution. Min-jee watched too, she wanted to look away, but couldn't. Dae-su grabbed the girl quickly as she sprung up from the floor. She thrashed around in his arms snarling, "Stop, Min-ji. Snap out of it. Please." He pleaded. His pleads were useless, Min-ji was gone.
"We have to get out," Su-hyeok said, he rushed over to Hwa-young and Na-yeon but was late to join the party as Soon-jin had finally moved the last table and slid the door open.
"Get out!... Get out!... Let's go!" Su-hyeok yelled out before calling out to Cheong-san and Dae-su. Na-yeon pushed past them, Joon-yeong moved away from his hiding spot and went towards the door. Soon everyone followed, Min-jee didn’t move as she looked back over at Dae-su and a now-turned Min-ji who trashed in his hold. Soo-jin grabbed Nam-ra’s hand and pulled her along gently. Hwa-young was already outside with Na-yeon, Ji-min, On-jo, Hyo-ryeong, and Joon-Yeong.
"Hurry," The students fled the classroom, Dae-su hesitated but pushed Min-ji to the side and ran out.
"Get out!"
"Gyeong-su," Cheong-san said as he pushed the table to its side in order to push Mr. Jang away from them, both boys then ran out quickly grabbed Min-jee’s hand, and pulled her along with them. Su-hyeok managed to dodge Min-ji and Mr. Jang as he fell hurting his ankle. Su-hyeok got up, ran out, and quickly slammed the door shut.
All now fifteen students ran down the hall, some looked back just in case. Na-yeon who was in front abruptly stopped and fell back as a zombie appeared in front of her. More showed up and ran toward the still-alive students. Hwa-young rushed forward and pushed back some zombies, Su-hyeok used his momentum to jump up and push himself from the wall to kick away some zombies. Su-hyeok fought against a few zombies, he pushed them to the wall, into each other, kicked them, bash one of their heads in the window but nothing would stop the relentless zombies. One managed to slip by, but before it can get close Su-hyeok tackled it. Another came by and went straight to Su-hyeok. The zombie's moment didn't last long as he was smacked away by Cheong-san who had managed to remove one of the classroom windows.
The males copied Cheong-san and started to push away the zombies. They started to struggle again.
"Watch your hands!"
"Careful!"
Dae-su stood by with the girls before going to remove one of the doors, "Hey! Get out of the way!" He picked up the door running towards them, the five boys moved to the side after pushing them away. Dae-su immediately moved the door in a horizontal way and began to push the zombies. The guys sprung into action to help out. Soo-jin and Min-jee moved first forward to help.
"Come on!" Soo-jin said while moving forward to get the others to follow.
"We need to turn!"
"Push it!"
"Push. More!
"Let's go"
"Shut up Na-yeon and help!"
"Push!" Slowly they moved forward and turned slightly.
"Run upstairs! Run upstairs!" Yelled Wu-Jin over to the girls.
"Let's go!" Na-yeon grabbed I-sak's hand while On-jo grabbed Hyo-ryung, Ji-min followed close behind, and Nam-ra barely managed to grab Soo-jin’s hand and drag her with her. Soo-jin wasn't able to call out to Min-jee or Hwa-young as she was pulled up the stairs. Hwa-young stayed back beside Su-hyeok while Min-jee was beside Cheong-san. Slowly with one final push, they all managed to push the zombies down the stairs. Besides Su-hyeok, after a few more pushes and hits he ran up following the rest up the stairs.
……………..
Nam-ra held Soo-jin’s hand tightly as they run up the stairs.
"Hurry up!"
Nam-ra who was in the lead turned the corner but was pulled back by Soo-jin due to more zombies appearing. Ji-min went beside them to pull them back more, "No! We have to move up!" As they ran, Min-jee’s hand which was in Cheong-san slipped from his grasp as she noticed Hwa-young in the back lagging for Su-hyeok. The group turned back and headed back towards the direction they came from and ran up the stairs.
"Hurry up! Go up!" Wu-Jin pushed back some zombies before following the rest up. Min-jee stayed back a bit mid-way up the stairs before going down and grabbed haw-young’s hand, “go up, we’ll be right behind” Hwa-young nodded and sped up. Min-jee looked back over at Su-hyeok he came into view and was struggling slightly to push some zombies away. Min-jee rushed forward to push them off of him, but another came. Cheong-san looked over at Su-hyeok and Min-jee who were helping Su-hyeok get the zombies away. "Hey! Where to?"
"Go to the science lab! Hurry!"
“Look out for Hwa-young and Soo-jin, we’ll be right behind!” Min-jee said. With hesitation Cheong-san nodded before he ran up the stairs, Wu-Jin was going to go help Min-jee but wasn't able to and just continued to run up with Cheong-san and Hwa-young behind him.
Gyeong-su and Joon-Yeong were already holding off some zombies, and Cheong-san joined them with Hwa-young. I-sak turned back towards Dae-su who had just arrived, "Dae-su! Behind you!" Dae-su turned around and pushed back the zombies, "Help me! Help!" Nam-ra and Son-jin went to help.
"Push!" Yelled Cheong-san, they all pushed back the zombies so that they could reach the science lab.
"It's locked. Somewhere else!"
"Where? We're surrounded!"
"It's locked!"
"Shit! Now what?!"
"Break the lock!"
On-jo looked around and spotted a fire hose.
"How?"
"I don't know! Just do it!"
"With what? Can't you see there's nothing around?"
"Use your head then!"
"No! Why-"
"Dae-su push!" On-jo said cutting off Kyung-Soon and Na-yeon's argument. She moved forward to help push the back and soon reached the fire hose. She opened the door immediately, grabbed it, and rushed over to the lock.
"Watch your hands! Careful!"
On-jo pushed Na-yeon to the side and began to hit the lock.
"Why's it taking long?"
"It won't budge!" She cried out. Soo-jin grabbed the hose and hit the lock harder.
"Above you!"
"Hey, it's climbing over!" Cheong-san slammed the window on the zombie that was climbing over breaking the window on them. It fell back on the floor and began to reach out toward the students' legs.
"Fuck! I can't hold them off much longer! Hurry!"
Soon after three more hits the lock broke, On-jo removed the lock while So-jin opened the door.
"It's open!" Na-yeon went in first, and Hyo-ryung followed right after along with the rest. Dae-su was last to go in due to him pushing away a few zombies, one caused him to stumble as a result he broke one of the windows from the science room. He then gave a final push leaving the door behind and ran inside. Hwa-young pulled him in while On-jo slammed the door shut once Dae-su was in. Zombies immediately ran to the door and growled at the students inside. On-jo watched them before looking off to the side and seeing that the phone had fallen out of her pocket. One of the zombies that were coming to join the other stepped on it causing the phone to fling off to the slide further away. Everyone was sweating and out of breath after having to go through all that.
"Fuck." Dae-su breathed out as he wiped his forehead but scream when suddenly a bloody hand wiped itself on his face leaving half of Dae-su's face with someone's unknown blood. The zombies were reaching over and grabbed Dae-su's hair. Joon-Yeong grabbed the nearest object which was a fire extinguisher and hit the zombie who continued to attack. He slammed it against its head before it then fell back, but another immediately took its place. Joon-Yeong did the same thing although he messed up a bit before he ended up with another window. One of the nearby zombies grabbed his hair, causing Joon-Yeong to move back away from them. Ji-min rushed forward to throw some weak objects at them. Cheong-san pushed her gently to the side, "let's move the desks!"
"Block it." They then began to barricade that part of the room to prevent them from going in.
"Fuck! That scared the hell out of me!" Dae-su yelled out as he moved away and gave Wu-Jin a chair. Gyeong-su held one side, while Cheong-san held the other. Wu-Jin had his back against the table to push it back.
"Block it." Cheong-san stood up on the desk and grabbed the chairs that Dae-su was passing to him. The other began to barricade the doors. Joon-Yeong stood back looking as if he was about to hurl, he looked at his hands as they shook.
On-jo was about to help out when Na-yeon grabbed her arms, "Where's the phone? I'll try calling again."
"I dropped it."
"How could you lose it!" Yelled Na-yeon and pushed On-jo's arms away harshly.
"Who cares about that right now? This is more urgent." Gyeong-su said as he passed by to grab a table.
"Who are you to butt in?" Na-yeon turned to Gyeong-su. Everyone paused to look at them.
"What?"
"It's because you didn't hold the door. If you had, the gym teacher wouldn't have gotten in. We almost died because of you." Gyeong-su looked away from her bothered, "Then maybe you should've held the door."
"You're a fucking asshole."
Gyeong-su set the table down as he was about to go catch hands with Na-yeon.
"Gyeong-su."
"You bitch." Gyeong-su reached out to grab Na-yeon's from her arm, Na-yeon moved away to get out of his grasp, "How dare you touch me?"
"Gyeong-su chill, Na-yeon keep that mouth of yours shut."
"Fight after you move these. This isn’t the right time for a dispute.” Ji-min said as she looked over at them.
"She's right. Stop it."
"Fight after we finish this, gyeong-su."
I-sak moved over to Gyeong-su and guided him back away from Na-yeon.
"This is so annoying!" Na-yeon kicked a chair away and went to lean on a table as she pulled her tie off. Gyeong-su stood to the side, Joon-Yeong was still deep in thought, and Na-yeon was off to the side having a small tantrum moment. Soon after everyone went back into helping barricade the room. On-jo grabbed a chair but paused as she looked around the room. On-jo looked over at Hwa-young once she noticed that Hwa-young kept glancing over at the door.
"Where's Su-hyeok and Min-jee? Has anyone seen them?'
The Sounds of chewing, as the flesh of the victims were ripped off, mixed in with the screams of fear and agony by many students. Every student due to fear began to push each other in hopes of running away.
Min-jee was pushed to the side harshly causing her to stumble back, hitting the table behind her, and fell to the floor. She groaned and stood up quickly before looking around in search of Hwa-young who separated from her due to the students pushing.
Hwa-young was pushed to the ground. A student with a bloodied ripped-out throat and bloodshot eyes spotted her. It ran towards her and threw itself to the ground getting very close to her face. All the zombie ever did was just growl, inching closer to her face. Its bloody mouth opened as it snarled causing drool to fall on Hwa-young's sweater.
Min-jee felt as if her blood ran cold as she spotted the dark brown-haired girl on the floor. Without hesitation, she ran over to Hwa-young who was near the exit, off in a corner with someone on her. Min-jee's mind ran in miles thinking of the worse, as she neared close to the girl on the floor she kicked the zombie in its head and reach out to Hwa-young.
“let's go... Hwa-young, let's go!” Min-jee screamed at Hwa-young. Hwa-young who had been frozen looked up at Min-jee's hand and grabbed it quickly. Min-jee helped her up and both ran towards the other exit near the kitchen.
Both girls held each other's hand tightly and carefully dodged students and diseased students, occasionally they'd pushed their way through, but kept running. As they reached the 3rd floor they began to cough from the white powder in the air and ran down the hall. Squinting a bit they saw a student with the white powder on them knocking on the door as they were attempting to open the door. Getting near them and hearing the student's voice it was Yang Dae-su.
"Your brother-in-", Halfway in the door, Min-jee interrupted him by rushing towards him and pushing him in as well as Hwa-young, On-jo, and Cheong-san before rushing in and closing the door behind her harshly.
"Fuck!... They're fucking aggressive." Dae-su exclaimed as he wiped his eyes with his hands before reaching over to grab a towel he spotted nearby. Min-jee panted quietly with Hwa-young as they both ignored some students' stares and questions. As Hwa-young stood up after being in a crouching down position in an attempt of catching her breath, she and Min-jee were pushed back and squished by some tall girl who they came to realize was Soo-jin.
"You're okay," Soo-jin whispered to both girls. She moved a bit and soon all three girls were hugging each other. After a few seconds, they separated and looked at each other, “What happened?” Hwa-young and Min-jee shrugged before responding to her, "students began to eat other students."
"Like eat eat or eat?" Soo-jin furrowed her eyebrows as she asked both girls. Hwa-young and Min-jee looked at her with stoic expressions, "I just saw students run and panic I was already in here..." Hwa-young shook her head while Min-jee walked over to the window.
Hwa-young and Soo-jin turned their attention over to Dae-su and Jang Wu-Jin.
Wu-Jin stood at the door looking at Dae-su, "What happened to you?"
"Some crazy jerk shot a fire extinguisher at me," Dae-su said as he wiped his eyes with the small towel. "A fire extinguisher?" "Yes, fuck.. ah. What's going on?" He looked around while crouching down a bit in a resting position, his hands on his knees to support himself.
Just as Min-jee was going to say something she was cut off by Kim Min-ji who was nearby them, "What happened while you guys were out there?"
Min-jee stared out the window in wonder at how they will leave this place alive. Hwa-young glanced at Min-jee, "We were in the cafeteria, and just as we were about to go... we saw students biting each other and went out the door near the kitchen. I think a few escaped from the window, the exit that led out was blocked off."
Cheong-san moved away from the window, "Guys, it's Train to Busan." Dae-su looked at him as if he was crazy, "What are you talking about, moron?" Dae-su went back to cleaning his eyes while Cheong-san turned his attention toward him. Just as he was about to speak Min-jee spoke up, "he's right, I know it sounds strange and all... but it's not impossible."
"Why are they at school? They should be in movies."
Cheong-san scoffed and pointed toward the window, "go and look. I'm serious." Seeing as Dae-su wasn't going to move he grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the window. Daesu followed still in disbelief, "Do I have to?"
Soo-jin followed with Hwa-young behind. Min-jee moved away from the window and went over to Gyeong-su’s side.
While 5 students went to go look outside the window they were startled by a harsh hit, "What the hell?" The person on the other side opened the window, "Hey, Bare-su!" "Push him off!" Wu-Jin and Dae-su were holding each other before hitting each other, both moved forward to help Su-hyeok.
"Quick! It's Bare-su" Cheong-san, Wu-jin, and Dae-su helped pull him in, "Get in here." "You okay?" Su-hyeok didn't say anything but reached out the window, "Prez! Hurry!" Nam-ra looked behind her and climbed the ladder quickly, "Come on!" "Behind you! Hurry!" Nam-ra had just barely made it when a school staff hit the ladder causing it to fall over. Su-hyeok, Wu-Jin, and Soo-jin helped Nam-ra in before they closed the window.
"Are you okay?" Su-hyeok asked while looking at Nam-ra in worry. Nam-ra nodded due to being out of breath and in shock. Soo-jin looked at the pair before looking over at Hwa-young. Hwa-young stared at the pair but looked away over to Soo-jin. On-jo stared at them before looking over at Soo-jin in confusion.
Su-hyeok dropped himself to the floor while breathing heavily and grunted a bit. With fear still in them, the students stood on the side close to each other just watching the male on the ground. "It's that, isn't it?... Zombies." He said. Hwa-young nodded as she stood close to Soo-jin. Min-jee glanced at Su-hyeok as she looked at Nam-ra silently asking if she was okay. Nam-ra gave her a small nod indicating she was okay. Soo-jin looked at Nam-ra for a moment before turning her attention outside. Gyeong-su looked over at Min-jee, Min-jee looked over at him, and he looked away, returning his attention to the door.
Everyone looked around still in disbelief due to the shock. Joon-Yeong got startled by a zombie who came out of nowhere knocking on the window rabidly.

Teachers
“Aah, you must be mistaken. Our students are required to check their phones. None of them could've called you... Yeah... Yes, of course. Everything is just great. Have a nice day." The principal slammed the phone down and looked a the school staff, "Didn't I tell you to make sure to take away their phones? I even got you safes, and they're saying, zombies! What the hell is wrong with you all?!"
"You can't deny there's a problem out there. It's complete madness. We need the police and rescuers to get the kids out." Ms. Park Sun-hwa was cut off by the principal. "Are you the only teacher? Are you that special? Whatever happens inside this school must be handled internally! Go! Put the kids in their classrooms."
"But, sir, I don't think the students are in a situation where they will listen to us at all."
"What are you still doing here? Get out there!"
"And if you'd go out right now, you can see for yourself that it's total chaos."
"Just do as you're told. I made you the dean to discipline them, so do that! Where are you going, Sun-Hwa? Don't do anything stupid. Stay here!"
"I'm going to make an announcement to tell all the kids to leave." Ms. Park Sun-hwa exclaimed before walking out of the principal's office and heading up the stairs.
"Hey, kid. What's up with your leg?" Called out a teacher towards a student with a cone on his leg. The student growled at the teacher, who reached for the teacher's leg and bit his thigh. Ms. Park looked over before calling out for him to stop. the student rushed over to her but failed to do anything. Ms. Park somehow managed to get up and flee up the stairs heading to the announcement room occasionally she'd look back just in case. Soon after she arrived, Ms. Park grabbed an umbrella that was nearby and put it in between the frame and the door to keep it shut.

The paramedics had just arrived at Hyosan Hospital, So-ju, and Kim U-Sin wheeled Hyeon-ju inside a doctor and waited for them on the side. "What happened to her?"
"She came from the school. She was bleeding when we got there. But we're not sure exactly what caused it.
"When was she injured?"
"We got the call about 30 minutes ago."
"Why is she lethargic?"
"She seemed to be having seizures at first, but she calmed down now."

Lee Byeong-chan looked down at his lap while another policeman set up the camera and went over to him to take off the handcuffs. He stared at his hands had cuts all around his wrists due to his struggling. Jae-ik looked at the paperwork, "You received the Ph.D. in cell biology in the US and returned to Korea. You were a pharmaceutical researcher and quit, then went into teaching. With these qualifications, shouldn't you be a college professor rather than a high school teacher?"
"I told you to go to the hospital and put Hyeon-ju in quarantine."
Jae-ik set the papers down giving Byeong-chan a stern look, "why did a teacher abduct a student? At the school, at that."
"If I were a college professor, a prosecutor, or a reporter, would you have listened?" "Ah, I see. So that's why you abducted her? Because no one listened to you or understood how you felt? You were lonely and sad. Is that why?"
"Fine. Let's do nothing. Who cares if everyone dies? This world and those bastards."
"I can't stand bastards like you. I hate your kind. You commit the fucking crime, then proceed to blame others, society, everything. Even when you reported your son missing, you said, "This world swallowed up my son." Yeah, right. is the world an anaconda? Look... It didn't swallow him. tsk, Give me a break. You killed your son and reported him missing to avoid being a suspect. Am I right?.. Your son isn't missing, is he? What happened to him, huh?"
………
"My son is dead," Byeong-chan said while looking at the camera, he looked down before looking up to shut it off.
Byeong-chan set a camera on the side while he looked at his laptop, "I put a cat and a mouse in the same box. Most of the mice sat in a corner and were frozen, trembling in fear. But once in a while, there would be a mouse that would lose its senses due to the overwhelming fear and attack the cat. When this happens, its testosterone level shoots up. I extracted that hormone and refined it. For all the mice in this world trembling in fear."
Byeong-chan set up the camera again creating another log, "I thought that if fear turned into rage, he'd become stronger than anyone." He turned the camera towards his son, Lee Jin-su, who was chained to his bad. Getting closer Jin-su moved forward growling. "He bit his mother." He then shows his wife on the floor chained to the corner of the bed."
"Day 17 since the infection. I stopped the haloperidol and gave him benzodiazepine again. He'll be awake in less than ten minutes."
………
Jae-ik banged on the table, "You killed your son, didn't you?" Byeong-chan started at him as he let out a sigh while rubbing his eyes with his right hand before looking off into a corner. A sad solemn look fell on his face, his jaw tense.

Hospital
Some nurses ran a test on Hyeon-ju, and as they did so, one of them noticed that Hyeon-ju was shaking, "What the... Get her out! Get her out! Turn it off!" They quickly shut off the machine and went over to check on her. "Oh!" The male nurse backed off as Hyeon-ju spasmed, the female nurse rushed over, "hold her down!" She then heard bone-cracking and crunching. Both nurses backed up a bit, they watched Hyeon-ju bend back inhumanly before growling loudly and attacking them. Outside of the room patients and staff that were passing by heard a scream. One of the staff neared closed before backing up as one of the nurses in the room fell out with blood on her causing everyone to gasp, "Please, help me! Call the police! Please hurry!" She yelled as she was attacked again. Everyone began to flee from that area.

Hee-su walked down the sidewalk before moving to the wall nearby, she leaned on it a bit while looking down. A trail of water went down her legs, and hee-su heaved slightly as she looked up. She soon proceeded to walk quickly across the street almost getting run over. The driver swerved just in time all while beeping at her. Hee-su briefly glanced over at the bus as she carried on walking straight ahead.
……………..
"See if it's there."
"It's not here either." Students mumbled as they looked inside desks and around the classroom in search of a phone.
"Hey, Joon-Yeong! I'm telling you. They can't open doors." Gyeong-su called out as he held the door close, his figure hidden below.
"Let's hold it shut for now," Joon-Yeong replied.
"Did you find one?"
"No, nothing here."
"Damnit."
"Any luck Dae-su?"
Min-jee walked over to Hwa-young and Soo-jin as they searched some desks, "You two okay?" Soo-jin and Hwa-young looked up at the short black-haired girl while nodding, "We are. The real question is you, are you okay?" Hwa-young nodded agreeing with Soo-jin, "yeah, it looks like you want to throw up." Min-jee nodded, "I do feel that way, it's most likely related to everything that's happening." Both nodded and soon after two students called out that they found a phone. It was at Min-jee's desk and Yeong-ju's. Soo-jin just stood by watching considering if she should tell them that it was her's but it didn't work due to being grounded so her parents cut her off from the plan for a bit. The other two thought the same thing and just let them figure it out, it happened to be at Min-jee's desk due to her wanting to install something upon Soo-jin's request.
Everyone but those three huddled towards I-sak and Na-yeon. "You try first I-sak." I-sak looked at the phone before sighing, "Oh no. We need the passcode. Try the one you have Na-yeon." They turned their attention to Na-yeon.
She turned it on and saw three girls that looked familiar. Na-yeon looked over at them, "Is this yours?" The trio stared at her before Soo-jin spoke up, "it's mine." Na-yeon rolled her eyes and swiped the phone seeing as it didn't have a password, "Call 119."
She immediately went to dial 119. Na-yeon put the phone in her ear, but all she heard was the voice machine telling her that the phone was out of service. After a few more tries they looked at I-sak to see if there was any way to unlock the phone. Na-yeon stomped her leg and turned off the phone waiting for Cheong-san who was on a call after On-jo had told them that they didn't need to unlock it, that they can just call emergency.
Cheong-san quickly dialed 119, and the operator then answered after a few more rings, "Hello. What is your emergency?"
"Hello? This is Hyosan High School. A ton of zombies showed up at lunch, and they're eating people." On-jo looked at him weirdly before whispering that he shouldn't tell them about the zombies. Cheong-san looked at her in question, "Then what?" "They won't believe you." Cheong-san looked away before going back to the call, "Did you happen to see the movie Train to Busan?" The dispatcher signed, "Okay. Hyosan High, zombies. Please give me your name and phone number. You know you'll get in trouble for making these false reports, right?"
"This isn't a joke. Everyone... Anyway, come quick."
"Okay. Lee Cheong-san. Your number is 010-4362... Stay somewhere safe, so that you don't get bit. We'll head out right away, okay?" The dispatcher then hung up, "These brats think they're so damn clever. He says zombies are attacking."
"Hyosan High, right? They must be celebrating or something. I just got a call about zombies too."
A female dispatch then answered a call next to them, "What's your emergency? A patient is attacking people? Does the person have a knife or some other weapon?... She's biting them?... Zombie?"
"Hey. Call the school and check." Soon all of the dispatcher's office was in chaos with many calls and reports of someone biting another.
Na-yeon shook her head before yelling out toward the three girls and walking up to them, "What the fuck is this!?" Min-jee furrowed her eyebrows a bit giving Na-yeon a look, "it's a phone." Na-yeon tch before throwing the phone to the side, the harsh throw caused the phone to break, and the back of it scattered, hitting Hwa-young on the leg. Min-jee moved in front of Hwa-young as Soo-jin pushed Na-yeon, "What the fuck is your problem." All the students then stopped and moved toward them.
"The phone didn't work, it was useless. Get over it." Na-yeon crossed her arms as she scoffed.
"You still didn't have the right the throw it down, you ended up hurting someone in the process."
"So? She's fine. So stop bitchin'." Just as Soo-jin was going to respond, Min-jee who was checking in with Hwa-young moved forward towards Na-yeon causing Cheong-san, and Su-hyeok to hurry forward in front of Min-jee and Soo-jin. Dae-su and Wu-jin moved in front of Na-yeon who realized she fucked up with that response regardless of the situation they were in. Hwa-young looked at Min-jee and Soo-jin, "it's okay, calm down."
"it's not okay, she might as well have thrown the phone at you," Soo-jin said
"She also didn't have to respond the way she did, but because she's a brat she thinks it's okay," Min-jee muttered. Before anything else could've happened a scream was heard outside, and the zombies that were near the doors and windows ran over to the sound. The small argument was long forgotten as they went to go check on the door.
Gyeong-su opened the door to check it out but was pulled back in by Su-hyeok who told him to close the door. On-jo then walked over to Cheong-san, "Are they coming?"
"He said they'll come."
"Did they believe you? What if they think it's a prank call and don't come?"
Na-yeon who was far away from the three girls stood up, "Call again. Tell them to come quick!"
"Stop yelling, what if the zombies come back." Kim Ji-min said calmly with an annoyed tone.
On-jo then grabbed the phone from Cheong-san, "Give me that." She quickly dials the fire department and holds the phone up to her ear. "you've reached the fire department."
"Hello, sir. Do you know Captain Nam So-ju from Rescue Team One?"
"I'm afraid I don't. We have many firefighters. What is this about?"
"Oh. Captain Nam So-ju is my father. Please tell him to hurry over to my school." "This is the call center. You should call his station if you want to reach him personally."
On-jo soon saw this was going nowhere, "There's a fire."
"Fire?"
"Hyosan High School, classroom 2-5." The students looked at her while she was on the phone. "Hurry up. The fire is huge." The call was then dropped, over at the fire department firefighters were getting ready and headed out.
"No one's coming?" "I think something's happening at the gate." "Let's call the cops again." "They're not coming." "I'm trying, but they won't pick up."
Na-yeon then walked over to Nam-ra, "Hey. Do something. Tell Ms. Park to come or something... Do something." Nam-ra looked at Na-yeon, "what can she do?" Said Su-hyeok, Na-yeon looked at him before looking away and back at Nam-ra "She should be doing something. What have you done as class president?" Min-ji grabbed Na-yeon's arm who only shook her off, "Stop it."
Nam-ra stood up and walked over to stand in front of Na-yeon, "should I go out? Go to the teacher's office? Will that do?"
"Why are you asking me?"
"You said to do something. Isn't that what you meant?"
"Stop it both of you.”
“First Hwa-young and now Nam-ra? Stop picking fights Na-yeon." Soo-jin said while looking at her.
"She's saying that because you're the class president."
"Right. You're the classroom president." Dae-su said to lighten up the mood, Wu-Jin who was hugging Dae-su glanced over at Hwa-young, Soo-jin, and Min-jee before looking over at Nam-ra and Na-yeon, "So just be patient, okay?" Nam-ra turned to look over at the two boys who then looked away quickly.
"You guys are funny."
"What do you mean?"
Nam-ra turned around looking over at On-jo, "Now that we are in this mess, I'm your classroom president?"
"We called the police, so we just have to wait a little while."
Na-yeon groaned, "But no one's coming" Ji-min sighed and yelled at her, "Enough already. We're all scared too!" Hyo-Ryung moved an arm in front of Ji-min to prevent anything, and Min-ji did the same with Na-yeon.
"That's why I'm telling them to call!"
"You do it, then!"
Gyeong-su shook his head and looked over at the, "Hey guys. Stop fighting."
"Who are you to stop us, you fucker?"
"What? Fucker? Did you just call me a fucker? Fuck!" Wu-Jin and Min-jee moved over toward Gyeong-su.
Cheong-san moved over to Min-jee who had walked towards Na-yeon too, "don't you ever know how to shut the fuck up? Would you like me to teach you?" Soo-jin said as she moved to the side of Cheong-san who was in front of her preventing her from doing anything.
Min-jee jaw clenched slightly but continued to hold Gyeong-su back. Gyeong-su had stopped moving and was staring at the short girl in front of him. Wu-jin looked at them both before looking over at Na-yeon and Soo-jin. Na-yeon opened her mouth to respond, but came up with nothing, she stared at Soo-jin before looking away and moving further away from the two girls despite one of them already being further away. Gyeong-su had calmed down and just let Wu-jin and Min-jee guide him back towards the door. Dae-su stayed in the same position, and Soo-jin just moved away going over to Hwa-young.
Su-hyeok pointed over at the door, "Hold the door Gyeong-su."
Gyeong-su who was still bothered slightly looked down at Min-jee and over at Wu-Jin, "Who the hell does she think... Did you hear what she said? Why does she always have to act like she's superior and shit?"
"Just let it go. It's nothing new."
"That's why she has no friends," Min-jee mumbled.
"Block it."
"Fine. Seriously-" before Na-yeon could say anything about Min-jee's comment the classroom door slid open.
Chairs rasped the floor as some students stood up in shock at the person before them. In walked Kim Hyeon-ju looking dehydrated with a bloody nose, a bloody forehead wound, and dilated eyes, her hands had dried blood on them too.
"Hyeon-ju. Hey, Hyeon-ju. Hyeon-ju!"
The girl had barely taken three steps into the classroom before collapsing. Ms. Park Sun-hwa rushed forward and grabbed the girl before she reached the ground. 9 students rushed to the front while the others stood up and took a step forward as the girl collapsed. Soo-jin and Hwa-young went to the front and kneeled, looking down at Hyeon-ju with worry.
Ms. Park's eyes scanned the girl's bloodied face worry etched on her face as she asked Hyeon-ju what was wrong and if she recognized her. The girl roughly muttered the teacher's name weakly. Hyeon-ju could barely keep her eyes open as she looked at Ms. Park with a tired expression before moving her eyes to the ceiling, "He grabbed me... The science teacher grabbed me and locked me up." She said with shaking breaths.
"He locked you up? The science teacher? Mr. Lee Byeong-chan?" Students whispered amongst themselves as they listened to the girl, "he tied me up." Ms. Park was shaken up as she held Hyeon-ju, she told the girl that they were going to go to the infirmary. Ms. Park looked up at Nam-ra telling her to make sure that they studied on their own and not say anything until she came back. Asking for help, Su-hyeok volunteered to carry her on his back. Hwa-young and On-jo helped Hyeon-ju up and helped her get onto Su-hyeok's back. I-sak helped too and soon after all 6 rushed out towards the infirmary.
................................
Soo-jin walked over to Min-jee who had a worried face, "do you think she's going to be okay?"
Min-jee looked up and shrugged slightly, "I'm not sure... But did you see how she was reacting? Not only did she look disoriented but... It was weird if the science teacher did something to her, I don't think it was physical abuse but rather something else... You get me?" Soo-jin stared at her friend confused wondering what the fuck she was saying but nodded either way, "yeah yeah, hopefully, she's okay..." Min-jee stared at the girl before shaking her head, "bring your chair over."
The class chattered, Min-jee was slightly distracted with a discomfort expression etched on her face. Soo-jin glanced up over at Min-jee as she saw the girl in the corner of her eye playing with her hands then her shirt then her pencil and back to her hands like a cycle, "are you okay Mj?” Min-jee bit her inner cheek and before shaking her head before looking up at the girl, "the feeling won't leave and it keeps getting worse." Soo-jin looked at her friend with worry. Nam-ra listened to the girl's response, for a moment she was going to turn around to comfort the girl somehow but decided not to. Instead, she made a mental note to ask her after school. Hee Su walked in weakly and grabbed her bag, Min-jee looked over at the girl asking her if she was leaving. Hee Su nodded and gave Min-jee a small smile before muttering, see you tomorrow then walked out.
................................
Su-hyeok ran down the hallway with Hyeon-ju on his back. On-jo ran on the side, I-sak ran behind, while Hwa-young ran on the other side. All of them except for Su-hyeok would occasionally move Hyeon-ju to a safe position from time to time each time she'd move. Ms. Park ran in front of Hwa-young.
Ms. Park pushed the door open and let Su-hyeok walk in with Hyeon-ju. The school nurse who was just about to attend to Hee-Su told her to wait and quickly went to Hyeon-ju's side to attend to her. Getting her thermometer out the nurse checked Hyeon-ju's temperature, "her temperature is way too low. Here, hold it down so she doesn't kick it off." The nurse said while rushing to cover the girl. Hwa-young moved forward and held the blanket over the girl.
The nurse looked over at Ms. Park and told her to call an ambulance while she went to get a sedative to help Hyeon-ju relax, and also for the nurse to easily clean her wounds. The four students and teacher held the blanket down while they waited for the nurse to go get the sedative. Hee Su watched the whole commotion before realizing that the nurse wasn't going to be able to help her at all. She turned around and weakly walked out heading back to class to get her backpack.
The nurse came back and told them to hold Hyeon-ju down, Hyeon-ju then revealed that the science teacher had given her a weird shot. Right after she said that she became hysterical, threatening to kill her classmates and the two school staff. Hyeon-ju managed to scratch On-jo and Hwa-young on the hand, but the girl continued to move around in a convulsive manner. The nurse injected the sedative while Hyeon-ju kept trying to bite everyone. In the heat of the moment, she had managed to bite someone but no one acknowledged it.
Ms. Park sent I-sak back to class as the rest waited for the ambulance to arrive. Once they came they took Hyeon-ju and wrapped Hwa-young's and On-jo's hands. Soon after Hwa-young moved to stand beside the teacher, On-jo's dad Nam So-ju, who was a paramedic talked to the teacher before asking them to take care of his daughter. Soon they left and Ms. Park looked at the 3 students thanking them for the help before telling them to head back inside. Hwa-young nodded before asking for some time, Ms. Park nodded and told On-jo and Su-hyeok to head inside. Hwa-young looked down at her hand and thought for a moment. She then walked into the school building, took a small detour heading over to the water fountain, and stared at it wondering if she should take a sip or not, she opted not to and remembered that Min-jee had an extra water bottle since the girl always says, 'you never know when you might need something. The number of times we avoid disasters and all. It's always good to carry something extra around.' tsk what a nerd.
................................
Min-jee and Soo-jin talked to each other in hopes that it could distract Min-jee. It succeeded for a while until I-sak walked in with a perplexed expression. Both girls including Nam-ra turned their attention towards I-sak who immediately when to her desk. Everyone gathered around her asking what happened and how's Hyeon-ju, "it's no joke. She was biting people and trashing around.."
Upon finishing her statement, Cheong-san immediately asked I-sak where was On-jo. "Hwa-young and her got hurt."
"Where? How bad?" Soo-jin, Min-jee, and Cheong-san ask at the same time. I-sak looked at Cheong-san, "she'll be fine." Right as she was about to tell Soo-jin and Min-jee that Hwa-young too was okay they were gone. I-sak looked at Seo Hyo-ryung who asked if Hyeon-ju had bitten On-jo and Hwa-young, I-sak leaned forward on the desk as she told them everything that happened.
Nam-ra looked away, she picked off where she last left in her studies. Cheong-san immediately left as soon as the conversation was dying down a bit, I-sak looked at Hyo-ryung again before moving her attention to Nam-ra, "look... She's just been sitting there studying." "Yeah, well she is the top student." "So? Where's On-jo and Hwa-young?" "In the infirmary."
................................
Min-jee rushed out with Soo-jin right behind her, they both went to the infirmary first, they saw a mess where they had put Hyeon-ju. Once they noticed no one was there, they rushed back out. As soon as Soo-jin walked out Cheong-san and her crashed into each other. Soo-jin stumbled back pushing Min-jee who fell back due to failing to regain her footing. Cheong-san immediately reached out to Soo-jin so that she wouldn't fall. Soo-jin and Cheong-san turned their attention to Min-jee who was on the floor before helping the girl up. After apologizing quickly all three of them rushed out towards the stairs.
Just as On-jo and Su-hyeok were about to continue walking Su-hyeok stopped her asking her what was the thing she wanted to tell him earlier. On-jo looked around making sure no one was around before proceeding to give Su-hyeok her name tag indicating that she liked him and was asking him out. Su-hyeok stared at the girl in bewilderment, "w-wait. This means. .. you wanna go out with me."
"Yeah"
"but aren't you with Cheong-san?"
"N-no. We've lived next door ever since we were little kids, and his mom always gives me free chicken... and I do like chicken. I love it actually... But not him, I swear."
Su-hyeok nodded slightly, "ah okay." Before he could say anything else she heard Cheong-san and Min-jee's voices.
Cheong-san rushed toward On-jo, Su-hyeok looked at Min-jee and Soo-jin before mumbling “downstairs,” Soo-jin and Min-jee silently thanked him before heading in the direction the long-haired girl went.
................................
Mr. Lee Byeong-chan looked around his office room noticing that Hyeon-ju wasn't there. He looked around in panic and turned to face Ms. Park Sun-hwa and Mr. Kang Jin-gu. Ms. Park told him that Hyeon-ju was taken to the hospital. As Mr. Lee tried to explain himself, Mr. Kang took him to the principal's office. The principal was annoyed as he thought about the image his school might take soon after word got around was happened, "Sit down, Mr. Lee. You've already turned things upside down when you're at school with the story about your son."
Mr. Lee leaned forward, "How the hell could you say that? Jin-su was the victim! And of course, you forced us to bury it." The principal smacked the folder he was holding onto the desk in anger, "Oh, that's some crack of bullshit, huh? You know how the school's evaluation is just around the corner. You should've called me before calling an ambulance, Sun-Hwa. What do you think is gonna happen if the police come?" " Well, I already called the police." "A teacher should deal with school matters internally. I'll call the police if we need them. Tell them not to come." Right as Ms. Park was going to finish her sentence she was caught off and hesitated. Mr. Lee walked towards the door but took a step back once he saw Jae-ik, "Mr. Lee... It's been a while, Mr. Lee Byeong-chan."
................................
In the infirmary, the nurse was wincing quietly as she was beginning to be in pain from the bite wound she had received from Hyeon-ju. Checking the bite mark that had bruises around it, her veins were darkening and spread throughout her arm. The nurse began to breathe heavily with panic, shutting her eyes as she almost fell forward had not her desk been right there in front of her. She looked at her desk mirror noticing bloodshot eyes that were dilated too, in panic, she checked her temperature. She saw it was down gradually, she reached forward the first time to grab some medicine her hands failed. As soon as she got some she drank them, looking up she looked down at her hand noticing the blood. Her nose from the left nostril had begun to bleed, and soon after she grabbed her neck while jerking forward as if she was choking. Bones cracking and snarls were heard in her office until a loud thud was heard.
................................
The school bell chimed throughout the school. Many students walked out of class heading to the cafeteria or their hangout spots. Hwa-young looked over at Min-jee who had said she was going to stay in class, "please come, maybe you just need fresh air." Soo-jin nodded agreeing with Hwa-young as they stared at the shorter girl in front of them. Min-jee thought for a moment before nodding and soon all three walked out of the classroom heading to the cafeteria.
As all three grabbed their food they went to sit nearby On-jo and I-sak.
"eat the apple at least Mj." Min-jee stared at her food before taking the apple and biting into it and pouting, "it's soft and mushy." Hwa-young shook her head and continued to eat. Soo-jin looked around and called over a friend, she offered him Min-jee's food. Min-jee smiled and gave it to the person, none of the girls wanted the food to go to waste so they gave it away to someone who'd like to have seconds. Hwa-young smiled, "at least you have something in your system now." Soon they all fell into a small comfortable silence that was ruined afterward by I-sak who yelled out, "What!" Everyone stared that them before going back to their conversations. Hwa-young furrowed her eyebrows a bit, before looking over at Soo-jin who shrugged, "ooo I have to check on something really quick before lunch ends, see you in class okay?" Both Hwa-young and Min-jee nodded, "be careful, you know what to do if something happens, okay?" Soo-jin nodded and took her food tray to throw away and went to look for someone.
Hwa-young glanced at Min-jee who was looking around, "Do you think she's going to go confess?" Min-jee looked over at Hwa-young and shrugged before giving her a small smile, "maybe, she never mentioned when today she'd do it." Hwa-young nodded and soon after she finished. They stood up and went up to the line for throwing away their trash and put away their plates. Hwa-young threw her trash away and put the steel plate on the side while Min-jee tossed away the core of the apple away.
Hwa-young and Min-jee were just about to leave when suddenly they had to rush back inside. Once they were halfway in the cafeteria they turned towards the doors. Students were panicking, and none would stop causing them to pile up on each other. It wasn't until they saw a student all bloody with half of their cheek missing who had grabbed a student proceeding to rip out their throat did they realize why and the danger they were in.
"Ah, now I get it." Jung Min-jee whispered to herself as she jotted down the answer to the last problem of her homework. She quietly thanked Choi Nam Ra as both girls began to pack up.
Glancing up she noticed Park Soo-jin waving her arms around trying to get her attention. Before the short girl could mouth something small to her, Nam-ra spoke up, "message me if you need help with anything, see you tomorrow right?" Min-jee nodded and mumbled to her a quick thanks and bye. Nam-ra walked away, heading home.
Min-jee looked over at Soo-jin whose attention was on some random kid Min-jee didn’t know. She slung her backpack on and walked out of the library going over to Soo-jin quietly. Soo-jin bid a quick bye to the person she was talking to and just as she was going to turn around Min-jee extended her arms out and tickled Soo-jin's side, "Boo!"
The brown-haired girl shrieked and turned around with a smile on her face, "why must you do that?" She lightly pushed the black hair girl before slinging her arm around her, "you scared me."
"That was the plan." Soo-jin shook her head as both walked down the hallway slowly, “well now that I almost died because of you we must go get Hwa-young, she's in a club right?”
Min-jee nodded and glanced around, “tsk, yeah, gardening right?”
“I think so,” both girls then began to walk around the school looking for Hwa-young. Finally, they found her, she had just finished cleaning her area not that long ago and was talking to a classmate that was in the same club as her. Kim Hwa-young saw the two girls and bid her club members byes and see you next week. She then walked up to the girls smiling brightly, “hey.”
“Hey.”
“S’up”
“gaming later on?" The two girls who had met up with Hwa-young parted and went on each side of her, "sure, discord right?"
"yes, although I won't join until later on due to having family over." Soo-jin looked at Hwa-young and shook her head, "it's okay, we won't start until 6 pm which is the usual time we finish homework." Min-jee nodded agreeing with Soo-jin, " no need to stress sunshine. Now come on, the bus should arrive soon." The trio picked up their pace and got on public transportation once it arrived.
……………..
They soon got off after thanking the driver and walked into the convenience store, a beep went off as the group entered the store, "meet back by the drinks." All three nodded and immediately split off in different directions and began to search for the snacks they wanted.
Min-jee grabbed a Snickers candy bar, Hwa-young grabbed a bag of Reese's peanut butter cups, and Soo-jin grabbed a bag of Skittles. The three girls met up in the front and looked at each other before moving a hand forward quickly for a game of rock, paper, and scissors. Hwa-young won the first round, and Soo-jin and Min-jee stared at each other for a moment before they thrust their hands out... Min-jee lost. She grabbed their snacks and went up to pay at the counter. Last time it was Hwa-young who had to pay. After she paid for the snacks, she walked out and handed them their snacks. Soon after the trio walked next to each other on the peaceful street.
The trio ate their snacks in silence until Hwa-young spoke up, "You guys should join the gardening club with me, it’d be fun.”
Min-jee thought about it for a moment before shaking her head, “can’t, I study with Nam Ra on Math.” Soo-jin giggled, “makes sense, you’re really stupid in math."
Min-jee looked over at Soo-jin, "would you like to see a trick?" Soo-jin stared into the shorter girl's eyes and shook her head, "n-no thanks... But back to Hwa-young's question, I got roped into soccer."
"Wait, really? Congrats."
"Ooh that's good, u always wanted to try out and you finally did."
Soo-jin smiled and looked at both girls, "yeah, I have practice tomorrow."
Soon their chatter died down as they all arrived at the street their home resides. Min-jee bid them a small bye and rushed home since hers was three streets down. The two remaining girls conversed as they walked together. Hwa-young and Soo-jin both lived in the same apartment building, although Hwa-young was a level below and further down.
……………..
"Wait so when do you plan to confess Jinie, have they been showing you any signals?" All three girls were on call on discord as they played PUBG. They had their mics off in the game due to already talking on discord. Since 6 pm as the other two finished their homework, they have been playing Roblox and other multiplayer games.
It was now 10, in Hwa-young's background her mom was telling her to head to bed, and as she yelled out a small okay she turn back to the girls, "I have to head to bed guys, see u tomorrow at school."
"Okay, sleep well sun,"
"Alright, rest well, and goodnight." Hwa-young hung up, and Min-jee and Soo-jin played 3 rounds before deciding to stop.
"So... Mj I have a question."
"Hmm?"
"Remember that deal we made?"
"Yeah, the one where if one of us were to confess then the one that did can choose and they'd have to confess, right?"
"Yeah, well... I choose you."
"You're kidding right?"
"No. Hwa-young and I both decided we'd pick you. Besides, we believe in you, and you'd both would look cute." Min-jee blushed and shook her head, "it's time for bed,"
"Yah! Don't change the topic-"
"Goodnight Jinie, rest well, and see you tomorrow."
"Mj don't you dare, wait-" Min-jee hung up and smiled. Soo-jin shook her head as she went into the chat, 'you can't escape it. A bet is a bet, it's your time to shine, goodnight.'
……………..
Morning came, it was 6:10 A.M. Out in the streets of Hyosan were high school students walking to school. Going down a small hill two girls were in a deep conversation about the events of yesterday in the game.
While Hwa-young and Soo-jin conversed a voice from afar can be heard telling them to pick up their pace. As the voice got closer they turned around and there Jung Min-jee was running in their direction, "Yah hurry up losers!" Jung Min-jee called out upon spotting her two best friends up in the distance, two other students were running right behind her. Both girls looked back and panicked slightly as they saw Min-jee, Nam On-jo, and Lee Cheong-san, All three of them were running towards the two girls, Hwa-young checked the time quickly and realized why they were running, "fuck, RUN!"
……………..
All 5 students raced to the school, only 3 made it barely on time while the others didn't. Cheong-San snickered toward On-jo while Soo-jin did the same thing toward Min-jee. Once they had written down their names all 5 began to walk to class. The 5 students walked up the stairs and headed toward their classrooms in a hurry. As soon as they entered On-jo went to her seat beside Yoon I-sak. Soo-jin went to her seat that was behind I-sak, the two girls followed and stood beside her as Soo-jin moved her chair to face them.
Min-jee looked outside with a bothered expression. Hwa-young and Soo-jin stopped conversing and looked at Min-jee who hadn't said anything since they got to school.
"Mj are you okay?" Min-jee looked at Hwa-young and Soo-jin before shaking her head.
"I feel like something's off." Both girls glanced at each other while waiting for her to continue. "I feel sick and out of it. It's probably nothing."
Hwa-young glanced at Soo-jin as they wondered why, but soon dropped it calling the feeling nothing but just anxiety. Deep down they knew what the feelings meant, but decided to brush it aside seeing as Min-jee didn't wanna pursue the topic.
Hwa-young thought for a moment before looking at the short girl who stood beside her, "Tell us if you feel worse okay." Soo-jin nodded at Hwa-young's response whereas Min-jee just gave them a simple nod, "I will, I think I'm going to head to my desk now." Both girls nodded and looked at each other.
"Cut it out! You're so dirty." Na-Yeon yelled grabbing her bag harshly that forced Gyeong-su to move his arm that was trying to clean her desk from 'germs'. Soo-jin rolled her eyes and pouted, "I wish you didn't have to sit beside her. How do you manage?" Hwa-young shrugged, "not sure, gotta go now." Hwa-young walked to her seat and sat down ignoring the girl beside her as she fixed her stuff before class started.
Once Min-jee had arrived at her seat she greeted Nam Ra before turning to look at the girl beside her only to see that she looked pale and uncomfortable.
"Hee-su, are you okay?" Park Hee Su noodled at the girl beside her before muttering a small hello to her. Min-jee continued to look at her before she jumped in her seat due to one of her classmates yelling at another classmate. She glanced over at them and looked at Hwa-young who was heading to her desk.
"Hey, you punks. Come on, guys. Take your seats." Ms. Park Sun-hwa said as soon as she walked into the classroom. Most students who were still up scattered to their seats.
"Annyeong, there."
"Annyeong!"
"Annyeong, good morning. Time to hand in your phones." 25 students stood up to turn in their phones.
"Who's in touch with Hyeon-ju? Nobody? So none of you tried calling her today?"
Oh Joon-Yeong cleared his throat before looking up at Ms. Park Sun-hwa, "uh, we cleaned the science lab together yesterday, but I haven't seen her since." Ms. Park sighed for a moment as she thought, "okay. If anyone hears from her sometime in the next few days, let me know right away, okay?"
"Okay."
"Exams start next week, so get your acts together." Ms. Park said as she sent a message to the class group chat. Two students got caught Yang Dae-su and Soo-jin. Soo-jin and Min-jee glanced at each other as they looked at Hwa-young with a 'haha you got caught,' smile. Hwa-young narrowed her eyes a bit as she smiled and sat back down. Soon after almost all phones had been collected, Ms. Park began her lecture.
……………..
Min-jee kept glancing over at Hee-su noticing the girl gripping the table's sides. Just as she was about to tell Ms. Park that Hee-su didn't look well, Hee-su stood up asking to go to the bathroom. The short girl watched her friend walk out. Min-jee kept her stare at the door Hee-su had just walked out from. The unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach wasn't settling and it seemed to keep wanting to continue strong.
Soo-jin stared at the blackboard in boredom as the teacher tapped on it before looking down at her book and skimming through the page they were reading. She looked up and turned her head over at Lee Su-hyeok direction who had been called on before looking at Hwa-young who had met her gaze. Soo-jin wiggled her eyebrows while giving Hwa-young a smirk.
Everyone's attention shifted towards the front, over at the door that had slid open. In walked Kim Hyeon-ju.
This is cool. The for you, following and all is upside down. Then when you click on the t icon it turns dark and blue with those particles from the upside down.
Does anyone genuinely call their siblings sis, sister, little/big sis, bro, brother, little/big brother etc. as constantly as this appears to be portrayed in media? I’m extremely sceptical. Now, affectionally addressing them by something like “slug”, “toad”, “fool”, and “bitch”, or even dare I say it, their gotdamn name, is, from my experience, so much more natural.
- Hey fellow readers, sorry I haven't been able to update. School is taking up a lot of my time, it's like I finish the first batch, and then a few hours or the next day I get a new batch with more. It's complicated, but aside from that, I have thought about pulling out this story in may so that it's not heavily similar to the Netflix series. I saw I was putting a lot of things that aren't necessarily useful.
-Aside from that I want to incorporate Min-jee, Hwa-young, and Soo-jin, and have them interact too more with the other characters. So far I have already thought about the middle and end so I think I know the direction I will be going in. Upon doing that I want to go deeper in writing out how they feel so that readers can cry☺️ and feel what the characters are feeling and more. Hopefully, you understand what I'm trying to say there.
-In summary, school is being a bully, therefore it's not fair of me to keep you guys waiting hence why I have decided that I will be unpublishing this book so I can heavily edit it and will release it in the final days of July when it's near completion so that I can post the last 5 or 10 chapters or so as a weekly daily like before cause who doesn't like suspense 😈☺️
- Anywho, the unplug will happen on April 29, 2022. After that see you soon. Thanks.
