Y/n was currently sprawled out across the bed, it wasn’t her bed of course, but she spent so much time in it that it practically could have been. She wasn’t a big fan of her room, it still didn’t feel homey to her yet even though she had been living in it for just about nine months or so. Pictures of days gone by hung to the walls and stacks of books littered the floor, but nothing in it was really hers. To combat this she instead spent most of her time in Megumi’s room, like she was now.
“Yuta you should have seen this kid, I thought we were gonna die for sure when I found out he ate the finger.” She shifted the phone to her other ear, holding it in place as she used her free hands to get the attention of Megumi. As soon as he was close enough she dragged him down on the bed with her. “Hold on, I'm putting you on speaker phone. Gumi is here too.”
“Oh hi Fushiguro!” Yuta beamed from the other end of the phone.
“Hey Okkutsu.”
“I was just telling Yuta about Yuji, do you know what the higher ups are going to do with him?”
Megumi shrugged, leaning back against the wall his bed sat against. “No idea, they probably want him dead just like they did with you two.”
“Well Gojo won’t let that happen,” Yuta started, “right?”
“Well not as much for y/n but I think Yuji is a special case like you, he’s got all that power and they have to make sure he has control of it.”
Yuta went silent for a moment, “I’m sorry you two but I have to go, stay safe for me alright and keep me updated.”
“Wait before you go I forgot to tell you Maki was asking about you the other day, I tried to get her to call.”
“Wait really I-”
“Sorry Yuta you got to go byeee.” She hung up the line and threw the phone carelessly on the bed.
“You’re evil for that.” Megumi said, getting up from the bed and heading to the door.
“What she really did though! I’m just keeping things interesting for the two of them. They both clearly like each other when he gets back. I already plan to be his wing woman and get those two together.”
“Hmmhmm whatever you say.” Megumi opened the door to find Gojo and surprisingly Yuji in the hall.
“Ah speak of the devil here he is now, this is Megumi’s room. Across the hall is Y/n’s, you can officially meet her later, usually she’s attached at the hip to Megs here but-”
“Uh helloooo,” Y/n said, popping up next to Megumi where he stood in the doorway. I’m right here.”
“And my point has been proven.” Gojo said, flashing a smile. Yuji suddenly peaked into Megumi’s room. The boy motioned for Y/n to step back before he slammed the door on Yuji’s head. Outside the door he heard the whines of the boy. Y/n fell back on the bed again,
“Who’s the evil one now? Are you even gonna give him a chance?”
“Maybe one day, he’s an idiot though. You should have seen the pictures of Jennifer Lawerence he had already hung up.”
Y/n’s head cocked to the side. “He likes the Hunger Games?”
“I uh, let’s just say I don’t think he read the books. It was more just pictures of.. her… body…” Megumi’s ears turned a shade of red to match the growing blush on his cheeks.
Y/n burst out laughing, “I swear you are like an old Victorian woman who would have passed out at the sight of an ankle.”
Megumi covered his face with his hands, “I genuinely hate you right now.”

Y/n and Gojo were still nowhere to be found as Megumi and Yuji waited for their arrival. Megumi stood leaning against the railing of the stairs and Yuji sat down, asking question after question. Megumi’s frown grew deeper and deeper with each one asked and he eventually got so fed up, texting Y/n to meet them right away.
“Who ya texting.” Yuji asked his new classmate.
“I’m asking Y/n when she will be here.”
“You know Fushiguro, you’re lucky that she’s your girlfriend, she’s really pretty and seems super nice.”
Megumi was caught so off guard by the comment he almost fell down the stairs, an “excuse me” was all could manage to get out.
“L/n, she’s your girlfriend right? I just assumed based on what Gojo told me and they way you two act with one another, plus the fact she was in your room, you know.”
“She’s not my girlfriend Itadori and frankly it’s none of your business if she was.”
“Sorry,” Yuji held up his hands in surrender. “I didn’t mean it in any way but if you aren’t dating her do you at least happen to know if she’s-”
Megumi shot the boy a look. “Finish that sentence and I knock your teeth down your throat.”
Yuji bowed his head slightly, “Shutting up now.”
Thankfully for the boys Y/n had joined them less than a minute later, followed quickly by Gojo and before they knew it the four were waiting at the train station.
“You excited n/n? You are finally going to have another girl to hang out with.”
Y/n scoffed, “What do you mean another girl. You mean only girl since Zenin hates me. Inumaki isn’t a big talker, go figure, and Panda is well a Panda. Why do you think my only friend is Megumi? He was my only choice.” Megumi remained pretty stoic in front of the others but poked at Y/n’s side as they turned to watch the incoming train roll in. He leaned down and whispered in her ear.
“Only choice huh?”
“Oh don’t be dramatic, you are my best friend, don't worry.” “
What about Yuta, I thought he was your best friend.”
“He’s a dangerously close second but I don’t have the heart to tell him that. It’s you and me Gumi-.
“For better or worse”, he finished for her. It was a saying Y/n would say alot, so many times he had lost track of the exact amount. The only thing he knew for sure was he loved every time she did say it.
The girl that stepped off the train wasn't exactly what Y/n was expecting. She had imagined the girl as more timid, like her sister Mimiko, not the fireball of personality that was Nobara Kugisaki. The girl skipped the traditional bow, and instead gripped up Y/n’s hand in a rapid hand shake. “You’re gorgeous you know that, if we don’t make it as sorcerers I’m turning to modeling instead. You should think about doing it with me.”
Y/n was so surprised at the words of the girl all she could do was smile. “I’m L/n Y/n nice to finally have another girl here.”
“I bet. So who’s the pink haired guy with the dumb smile on his face and who is the emo guy with the spikey hair?”
After introductions Gojo had told the four that they had a mission to carry out and it would be a perfect way to test the new students. Megumi and Y/n sat outside of the abandoned building as the other two fought their way through the inside. Y/n knew Megumi desperately wanted to get inside but Gojo wasn’t allowing it, especially since Megumi was also still recovering from their last mission as well. The whole situation was stressing him out. The two sat side by side on the bench together, Y/n had Megumi’s hand flipped over in her lap and drew small circles and triangles over his palm. Everyone once in a while would shiver at the contact.
Y/n was big on laying and dragging Megumi around every chance she got. He quickly got used to these types of touches but it was the little ones, like the soft contact he was experiencing now that would catch him off guard and cause him to short circuit just slightly.
“Are you actually relaxing for once?” She said, tracing a new shape on his hand.
“I’m just getting used to the motions now.”
She placed her pointer finger on his wrist over his pulse point, “I’ve never seen you this calm, not while someone is fighting basically right in front of you. Not while you aren’t being allowed to fight.”
“Gojo being here makes me worry less.”
Y/n stopped tracing on his hand and felt his heart rate begin to raise just slightly, “Nice try Gumi, Gojo has never made anyone feel less stressed, you should hear the stories Shoko tells.”
Megumi smiled, “Guess you got me Princess.”
“You know I could touch you more if you’d like it.” The boy suddenly tensed up and Y/n had realized her mistake. “Wait oh my god no, no, no, no I did not mean that. Oh that’s terrible. You know what I meant. Actually where’s the nearest bridge? I'm jumping off.”
Megumi smiled softly at the girl. “I know what you meant, and I don’t mind you calming me down sometimes, I think now that we are going to be dealing with these two I’m going to need it.”
Later that night, at the sushi restaurant the group had picked, Nobara and Y/n found themselves at the table alone for a minute. Over the course of the night the girls had already found common ground in many interests and even though Y/n wasn’t big on fashion or shopping the two bonded over their love of kicking ass, and teasing the boys of course.
Nobara took a sip of her drink, “You know it’s like Fushiguro is a completely different person around you. When you came back from taking the boy home I actually saw him smiling. How long have you been dating?”
Y/n found herself choking on a piece of sashimi, she pointed to herself as if Nobara had been talking to someone else. “Me and Megumi dating? What are you talking about?”
The girl looked confused, “Are you not? I would have sworn you two were if someone had asked me. I think it’s the way you are so comfortable around one another.”
“You just met us today, how can you tell all that?”
“Babe, it’s pretty obvious. Well at least I thought I was, my mistake. You could do much better than him anyway.”
Y/n let out a laugh at the girl’s comment, “Thanks Kugisaki but yeah Megumi is just my best friend.” After their conversation Y/n found that she really wasn’t all that hungry anymore.
Why was Kugisaki so interested in whether or not Megumi and I were dating? Was it just small talk or did she want to know because she thinks he’s cute? But more importantly, why do I kind of care if she did?
