Abby looked at you, she was facing you and moved closer.
“You don’t get to say that name..”
You looked surprised by her sudden shift in tone.
“Oh- I’m.. I’m sorry, I didn’t know Abby..”
You looked up at her as you watched as her jaw tensed and her teeth gritted against each other. She turned around and started walking a little faster, more carelessly. You rushed behind her, following her. You didn’t know the name had such a deep meaning. Otherwise you would’ve tried to ease her into the conversation, or maybe not have it at all.
You kept walking slightly behind Abby, you tried your best to keep up with her speed but it started feeling like a race.
As you both walked you stumbled into a more forestry area. It was pretty dry, the grass was brown and yellow. You followed behind Abby then ZIPPP. You gasped, you watched as Abby got her ankle caught in a rope trap of some sort. She was swinging back and forth from one ankle. You rushed over and your hands fumbled as you dug through your backpack for a knife or something sharp. You couldn’t find anything but you found where the rope was tied. You quickly tried to undo the knot. Once you undid it Abby fell to the floor with a loud thump. You quickly kneeled down next to her to see if she was alright.
“Abby? Abby talk to me..!”
She was lightheaded and probably dehydrated from the heat. You grabbed water from your bag and gave it to her. You helped her drink it. She moved back a little and took the bottle. You looked confused.
“Are you okay..?”
She took two giant gulps of water and then wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.
She nodded.
“I’m fine- thanks”
She got up and rubbed her head.
“You think fireflies set that up?”
“Hell if I know.. When I was in the group we didn’t set up traps like this.. but it’s been awhile..”
You kept walking close, the sun was setting. You looked around cautious of more traps. You saw a few Demons being held up by their ankles too. You and Abby decided to find somewhere to take shelter. You thought you’d find more information about the traps and fireflies tomorrow.
You and Abby walked for a few miles before finding an abandoned house. You guys cleared it and slept on the couches inside, they were quite dusty and old but it was better than nothing. During the night before you both fell asleep Abby started talking
“Joel.. he killed my father..”
you seemed surprised and felt bad instantly, you sat up and moved to where Abby was.
“I killed him.. I- it was awhile ago..”
you looked at her and nodded, you shook your head. You didn’t know Joel’s part of the story, but it hadn’t matter to you. You cared about Abby.
“If someone hurt my mother.. I think I would’ve done the same.. I don’t blame you Abby..”
Afterwards you both shared stories you had growing up, Abby mentioned her coin collection and you mentioned what Seraphites did for fun.
You took shifts in sleeping but eventually you both fell asleep before the sun came up.
When you both woke up you both had guns in our faces. I gasped. Abby had still been asleep. I shook her awake and I heard them cock their gun
“What- who the fuck?”
You looked at Abby then back at the people. They moved closer, they wore camo shorts, dirty muscle tees, and sturdy brown boots. Some on them had a helmet on with a visor. The man in the back was muscular. White hair tied back in a short ponytail. Then women on your side pointing the gun at you moved closer. She grabbed your face and turned your head side to side. You looked petrified.
“She’s a freak.. look at these scars on her face..”
You had never once felt self conscious about the scars, until now. You looked down for a moment then looked at the man holding a bigger gun to Abby’s face. He looked at abby and saw her muscles.
“She’ll be great if we can get her to cooperate..”
They made you get up off the couch, they took your stuff and forced you both to start walking. The woman in the front and the two men behind you both.
You felt like you both were walking for hours, your mouth was dry as you licked them constantly. You were in front of Abby and couldn’t see how she was doing. You were too scared to turn around.
You walked until you saw a giant building. It was round with many windows. It was like circles stacked on sickles as they got smaller at the top. You saw a few broken down cars with graffiti on them. The same symbol showed up over and over again. A snake wrapped around a human skull, the words rattlers underneath the symbol. A new group, who would’ve guessed.
They take you both to the round building and you pass by other rattlers. Then they bring you inside and downstairs. You are stunned to see the amount of prisoners in one cell. And to your surprise they force them all to back up and push you and Abby into the cell. You looked around and moved close to Abby.
“Who.. are these people..?”
You asked to no one in particular.
A man spoke to you without looking at you
“Rattlers.. they torture, trap, enslave us.. use us for labor..”
Abby spoke in an almost aggressive tone.
“How are we supposed to get out of here? what the hell is this group?!”
You put your hand on her shoulder only for her to shrug it off. You sighed and looked to the side.
“Abby please calm down.. we can find a way out.. but we need a plan..”
The people in the cell started whispering. A woman came up behind you and held your shoulder. You jumped, then she started speaking.
“Don’t get caught.. they’ll bring you out near the beach and hang you up.. they’ll leave you to rot..”
After a week of being down in the cell you’ve learned how the rattlers work. When someone starts causing a commotion they pull them out of the cell and take them down the beach. You started talking with Abby coming up with a plan. But you’d need others help.
When a few people had been taking out new people were instantly added. You started talking to them and hoping to gain their trust. Now after a month, you and Abby had decided it was time to execute the plan.
Step 1: Find someone willing to be a distraction (Jessica agreed)
Step 2: Rattlers come to take Jessica away
Step 3: everyone (mostly everyone) push out of the cell.
You were officially out, you and Abby broken into their guns that were right next to the cells. You walked with her and smiled.
“Still wanna find the fireflies..?”
She glanced over at you, she stayed silent for a moment. She didn’t know.
“Where are we gonna go now? We can’t stay here.. it’s not safe..”
She kept walking toward the beach.
“Where the other prisoners said to go..”
“Catalina Island? really?”
“They said there were boats down here.. we use it to get a close as possible then walk the rest.. it’s less than a week away..”
“How are going to survive we have nothing..
But guns..”
“We can.. catch fish.. I don’t know-“
“be realistic abby..”
She kept walking and you followed.
“Either come with me or don’t..”
You didn’t want to be left alone here. You moved with her and got into the boat. It had paddles. You both used them and started heading for Catalina island.
You felt different with Abby. It was something you couldn’t quite put your finger on. It frustrated you, you looked at Abby and wanted to stay by her side at all times. But it felt wrong somewhere deep in your heart. She was a wolf and you were a Seraphite. But she didn’t consider herself apart of that group anymore. You decided by the time you got to Catalina island, or at least to land. You’d feel confident enough to tell her how you felt.

Thick fingers threaded through your hair, tugging your head up sharply, bringing your gaze to the woman sprawled in front of you. A low groan left you.
“Stop one more fucking time, and I swear to God.. “ Abby whined, voice hoarse from all of the noises you'd spent the last hour dragging from her.
She panted, opening her legs slightly further, looking up at you with wet eyes. You stared at where your strap disappeared inside of her, her pussy leaking around silicone, clenching around you tight enough you swore you could feel it.
The sight of her– chest heaving, thick, bare thighs either side of you, her cunt stretched around silicone– made you dizzy. Her pretty whines? Yeah, those too.
“What?” You prodded, resting your hand low on her stomach, thumb brushing through curly, dark blond hair a couple inches below her navel. “Swear to god what? What’re you gonna do, baby?” You murmured. She squirmed slightly.
You grazed the pad of your thumb over her clit while doing so, just one little touch to stir her up. She was swollen, all twitchy from earlier, when you’d laid between her legs and sucked her off. You’d never tire of it.
Her hips canted up, the muscles of her stomach flexing, a throaty whine leaving her.
“Hngh, I’ll- I’ll fuck the shit out of you-.. fucking .. hah..” She gasped out, thighs pressing against your hips as you rocked forward, pressing about an inch deeper.
You slid your hand up her waist, thumbing at one of her nipples to watch her squirm. Her heels dug into your back, pressing you forward. She laid her lead back, groaning at the ceiling.
“Will you now?” You teased. You did need to be careful. She could hold a grudge and get you back next time she topped. Maybe. She could be just as mean as you if she wanted. Kind of your fault for teaching her too well.
You’d been dating for almost a year. She’d really come out of her shell. It was great. Most of the time, when she wasn’t bullying you. One time you’d pissed her off and she’d tied you to the headboard and denied you for 2 hours. That was a very pivotal moment, you thought.
“Uh.. uh huh-” She gritted out. “I fucking will.. But not tonight, can you-.. Fuck, can you please move more than that?” She spoke breathily, voice getting whiny again.
It had been a while. And she’d refrained from cussing you out, so she did deserve it. But she always sounded so pretty when you denied her.
You exhaled slowly, shifting slightly, drawing your hips right back, before sliding all the way back in hard. A punched out noise left Abby, her thighs twitching against you.
Yeah. She deserved a bit more attention now.
You rocked your hips with rhythm now, bottoming out on every thrust, thumbing at her clit while your strap squelched in and out of her.
“Yeah, Shit, that’s.. Ungh, that’s so fuckin’ good.. Please, baby..” Her mouth fell open, breathing in high little gasps.
You slowly brought up the pace, letting her feel it, feel that heat in her stomach. She panted, whining at the ceiling, pretty, guttural moans slipping out of her.
Her stomach fluttered, muscles tensing as she squirmed. Your silicone cock drove in and out of her, soaked with her arousal. Her slick had ended up smeared across her inner thighs, her pretty curls damp with it.
You free hand groped at her chest while you fucked her, pretty moans punching out of her with every thrust. You flesh met hers with a quiet whap of skin meeting skin, her wet cunt making those sloppy noises that made you lightheaded.
You could tell when she was close, watching the way she started clenching up around your strap, her moans changing pitch, coming in desperate, hoarse whines. Shameless, she was. Wrecked. And all for you.
God, you were lucky. But imagine how pretty she’d look at you if you denied her again. No harm doing it one more time..
“Fuck, Abs..” You groaned, ‘M’sorry baby, one more time for me..” You slowed to a stop, mourning the friction that the strap had been giving you.
Her thighs squeezed around you, hard. A quiet sob left her, her stomach fluttering.
“Fuck, fuuuck, i’m gonna kill you..” She whined. “Please, please let me cum, I swear to fucking god, I’ll be so good.. Please, baby..” She babbled, lifting her head to look at you, face flushed, eyes wet with tears. Your poor girl.
You stroked her thigh soothingly while she squirmed and pleaded, her pussy still leaking around your silicone dick. Her fingers dug into the sheets, those strong arms shaking slightly.
“No one else gets to have you like this, yeah?” You murmured. “Only me?”
She nodded frantically, lips parted.
“Say it out loud for me baby..” You coaxed.
She squirmed slightly, face flushing even further.
“All yours, only you get to have me like this.. Please, please.. Please fuck me, I need it.. So fucking bad..” She spoke shakily, swallowing thickly. A flicker of possession ran through you. All yours. She was all yours.
You started moving again, leaning over her this time, murmuring praise into her ear as you finally, finally fucked her into the orgasm she’d asked for so perfectly. You sucked at her neck when she got close, relishing in those loud, shuddering moans that left her lips.
Her legs shook, thighs pressing into your hips again, her hips jerking as she crested. Her pussy squeezed you so tight you had to fight to stay pressed all the way in, rocking back and forth, pulling everything you could from her.
You kept up the friction on her swollen clit until her legs shook, her cunt drooling. You wanted so badly to have your head between her legs again, to clean her up, but you’d only get her worked up again.
“Shit, shit.. Tha’s.. Sensitive..” she groaned.
You pulled the strap out of her with a wet squelch, cupping her face tenderly, kissing her. Her lips were swollen from her biting them to keep quiet. Her eyes were glassy, hair plastered to her face. Her body was lax against the sheets.
She’d certainly sleep well tonight. She was taken care of, dazed and satisfied.
You undid the harness, fumbling to get it off, discarding it before fetching a glass of water and a warm, damp cloth.
She sat against the headboard sipping water while you cleaned her up, then settled under the sheets with you once you were done.
You pressed your chest up against her back, arm over her waist. You pressed a kiss to the top of her head, stroking her side.
“Was that okay?” You asked softly. She sighed happily, nodding.
“Yeah.” She murmured. “But I’m topping next time.”
Yeah, you were in a little bit of trouble there. Whoops. Oh well. You were more than happy to lay here with her, and fall asleep in her warmth.

The raid was going to complete shit.
Buildings were burning, nobody was keeping high ground. Neither side was winning.
But the Haven was crumbling, that was something. Not like it made up for the amount of losses on your side. Just as much scar blood soaked the soil as wolf blood, caking in your boots and under your nails as you crawled into a groove behind a cluster of trees.
Your hands were wet with mud and the blood of many.
Primarily, your own. Your hands shook, pain shuddering through you so intensely your consciousness threatened to slip away. But letting sleep take you was certain death.
There was an arrow buried in your side, wood soaked with blood, seeping through your shirt and mingling with the rain that dampened you. Water pattered on the leaves overhead, the sky an endless black. It would’ve been a peaceful sight if it weren’t for the gunshots and shrieking no more than 200 metres away from you.
You wouldn’t fucking die here. You promised yourself that.
Your breathing was shallow, your back pressed to the rough stump of a tree behind you. Curling bark drew thin lines of blood along your back, but with the adrenaline coursing through you, it wasn’t a bother.
Your heart pounded. When the spike died down you’d be in too much pain to do anything. You’d die in the dirt. You need to take advantage of the adrenaline while you still had it.
You lifted your hands, gripping the length of the arrow that protruded brutally from your side, shaking violently.
You gritted your teeth. If you left it, it would cut through even more vital shit than it already had. If you pulled it out, it’d bleed and bleed and bleed like fuck. Both choices were risky. But you couldn’t walk with the arrow there.
Summoning the strength you had, you tilted your head back and pulled. The steel dragged flesh back with it, a muffled, hoarse cry leaving you. Tears welled in your eyes, hot and persistent, blurring your vision.
Your breath came in shaking, pained gasps. The arrow wasn’t out yet. Pain had you in its wretched grip and you felt paralysed. You wanted to lay there until it went away. But it would take you with it. You could buy yourself a couple days, at least. Enough time to get yourself off this cursed fucking island.
You sobbed behind gritted teeth, fingers curling into the dirt.
Doubt took its grip too. You weren’t superhuman. The idea of getting out of here alive was seeming more and more impossible by the second.
Lost in the throes of pain and panic, you were oblivious to a figure in front of you until they spoke.
“y/n? Shit..”
You knew that voice. When you blinked away the tears in your eyes, you recognized that face.
It was Abby. Abby, who sneered at you, relentlessly made remarks when you were paired during training, who’d broken 2 of your ribs in the dining hall after a particularly nasty dispute. Abby, who’d been AWOL for days, who had a little scar boy shadowing her. Was she.. Was she protecting a scar? After all that the WLF had taught its soldiers, she was protecting a scar nonetheless.
It was a kid.. But still. That hadn't really stopped her before.
Your hand went for your gun immediately, your torso twisting, your body violently recoiling. Your back and stomach cramped, pain flaring, nausea tearing through you. A choked whimper left you. The kid behind her raised his bow slightly. Abby raised a hand slightly, a subtle signal, and he hesitantly lowered it again.
“Abby?” You breathed, voice strained. “What the fuck?”
She swallowed, taking you in in your state. Face smeared with blood from when you’d dragged your hands over your face, eyes bloodshot and wet with hot tears, tendons in your neck straining. Her eyes stopped on the arrow in your side, the fabric of your shirt saturated with blood.
You and her despised each other. But she couldn’t help but feel a thick wave of sympathy at the sight of you like this. The shaking, whining gasps of pain reminded her of when you were both younger, back in the fireflies, when you’d-
“Abby, we need to get to a boat, we can’t stay here.” The little boy nagged urgently, stepping closer to Abby.
She flinched slightly, her shimmering gaze never leaving you. Her fists curled, eyes darting between you and the dock further down the coast. She did need to hurry. But she couldn’t leave you here to bleed out.
More guilt wasn’t something she could handle. Not after everything.
Abby inhaled sharply through her nose.
“Fuck it.” She muttered shakily, dropping to her knees and digging into her bag and pulling out a thick wad of medical tape.
You were torn between watching the Scar and Abby as she pulled medical supplies from her bag hastily.
Her hand eventually settled on the arrow still slightly buried in the side of your gut. She looked up at you, eyes looking very apologetic, her spare hand pressing flat over your mouth before she yanked the arrow out.
You screamed into her palm, body tensing and shaking, heels digging into the dirt. Abby peeled up your shirt, pouring alcohol over the wound before pressing a wad of gauze against the crude opening in your flesh. You moaned in pain, more tears tracing through the blood on your face.
She gestured for the boy to help out, his hands hesitantly holding the gauze against you while Abby leaned you forward and wrapped medical tape all the way around your torso a couple times, keeping the gauze pressed tight.
God, it hurt, everything hurt so much. Your arm hurt from deflecting the barrel of a rifle swung at your head, your legs ached from all the running, your abdomen churned and burned with awful, awful pain. The alcohol still stung.
“Why the fuck are you doing this? And what’s with the fucking Scar?” You prodded, watching as she picked her bag back up and pulled it over her shoulders.
“Because, I just- I don’t fucking know! Not the time. Get up.” She snapped, grabbing your wrist and urging you to stand up.
“I can’t-..” You protested, voice tight with pain. You were shaken by this. What the hell was she doing? Isaac would have her on a fucking stake if he found her like this.
She crouched in front of you, grabbing both your forearms tightly, her face inches from yours, hair and skin slicked with blood and rain.
“You can, and you fucking will. Now.” She hissed, voice sharp with adrenaline and frustration, pulling you to your feet.
You stumbled straight into her, slightly jarred by being yanked up. Holding your weight hurt more than sitting did, of course it did. Where the hell was she intending to take you? And why didn’t she just leave you? Clearly she’d made a decent enough effort, but she wasn’t happy with just that.
You clawed at her shoulders, dropping your head and hissing in pain.
“You’re fuckin’ crazy, if I get seen with you, Isaac’ll rip me apart, and I’ll probably die anyways, you idiot-”
Isaac was dead? Fucking how? He was meant to stay docked on the coast, to radio in orders and watch from afar. He was dead? Before you could comprehend what she said and articulate another protest, Abby had you by the wrist and was pulling you along, The Seraphite boy walking beside her, his pace impatient.
Heavy hands grabbed your own shoulders, shaking you slightly.
“Isaac is fucking dead. Now come on, you can stay on your feet just for a little longer. This way.”
“I loved the part where I got to have a say in this.” You snarked, limping heavily against Abby’s side.
She pulled back, leaving you to balance yourself. She looked at you, face curled in irritation.
“Really? You’re still gonna be a dick? Fine then, stay here and fucking bleed out in a ditch. God, I knew I shouldn't have..”
She stepped closer to you, arm lifting to gesture back towards where she’d found you. Her voice trailed out, her shoulders dropping. She looked up at your eyes, her own heavy with lack of sleep and worriedness. Her hair was wet, loose strands plastered to her face, her skin glistening.
That look plucked a string in your chest, a sharp wave of longing flaring up in your chest.
“Okay, fucking sorry, just.. Where do we go?”
Her hand shifted from your wrist to your body, hand wrapped around your torso, keeping you balanced while you dragged your feet through the ferns, icy water soaking your socks. She avoided your wound, hand pressing into your ribs, fingers firm and warm against the cold fabric that clung to you.
You hesitantly put your arm up over her shoulder, your other hand shakily pulling the pistol from your belt, palm slick with sweat.
“Not gonna fucking die.” She muttered quietly. “I’m with Mel, she’ll fix you up when we get out of here, and we have medication left from-..” She caught herself, the boy beside her flinching slightly, eyes dropping to the ground. Had there been another person? “Listen, you’ll be fine. Stop with the dying bullshit.”
You pressed on. Abby was a traitor in the WLF’s books now. You were supposed to hate her. You did, ever since the falling out when you were 16. But you went with her. Went with the traitor and your sworn enemy, because god knows what would happen with Isaac dead, and getting to safety and getting painkillers felt like heaven right about now.
You had been ready to die 5 minutes ago. What was there to lose? Your pride? That was already running thin. You were too drained for that.
There must have been a good reason for Abby to team up with a Scar. She trusted him, and he trusted her. The boy must’ve been some sort of deserter, like Abby. Seraphites swore to kill any wolves in sight, and vice versa. Yet here the 2 were.
You looked over at the boy. He glanced up at you, then dropped his eyes to the ground. He looked tired, eyes bloodshot, frame tense with determination but curling in with pain. He had an air of smothered grief about him. Poor kid.
You couldn’t bring yourself to hate him. He was a child. The seraphite religion was all he knew. It wasn’t his fault.
You looked back to Abby, her gait steadying yours. Her jaw was tense, eyes set ahead, lips twisted slightly.
“Mel’s with you? What happened?” You asked quietly, voice hoarse. A quiet, strained breath left you with every step. Sweat mingled with the rainwater and blood on your body, the exertion settling in.
“I promise I’ll tell you everything when we get the fuck out of here.” Abby quickly replied. It was almost like a plea, for you to understand, to not stop and choose your loyalty to the WLF over her. You should. Isaac was dead, she was a traitor. Any other soldier would put the kid down and take her in. You couldn’t, and you just didn’t want to.
But that bitterness she always held around you was absent. She was softer, looked at you with a different kind of hurt. Hell, she’d adopted a damn seraphite. She was different. Closer to what she was when she was younger.
And this had happened in the span of 2 days.
The boy stopped, distant firelight glinting in his eyes.
“Haven..” He breathed quietly.
All of the tall, wooden lodges and huts were completely alight, the flames bright and blinding, leaving splotches over your field of vision when you blinked. You felt a pang of guilt for the child.
This was his home. He was watching all of it burn, listening to the screams of the people he’d grown up with. It was awful how many children were forced to grow up so fast in this world. That people so young had to go through such huge amounts of loss.
“ It’ll be okay, Lev. Where are the docks?” Abby asked him, a hand resting on his shoulder. A silent reassurance. She cared about this kid.
The boy raised a hand, pointing directly at the center of the mess.
“On the far side of Haven. It would be faster to cut through, but..” He looked at you, glancing over your weak posture.
A flash of fear riddled you. Would Abby leave you to fend for yourself after all, like she should’ve to begin with? It was logical, you slowed them down, but..
You had clung on faster than you should’ve. The idea of parting ways with Abby knowing there was a chance you’d never see her again scared you. There was still a part of you that felt empty without her presence, as much as you despised it.
“We’ll follow the perimeter, use the trees as cover then get out to the docks from the shore.” Abby spoke firmly, tracing the treeline with a finger up in the air. Always the one to take action, she was.
It used to irritate the life out of you when she’d be the mighty hero that came up with the amazing plan. But you were grateful for it now, even if said plan was the most obvious thing ever. A guiding voice soothed you as much as you could possibly be soothed at a time like this.
“Everybody will be focused on the fighting, we’ll be fine.” She murmured quietly, eyes scanning the scene.
The 3 of you slipped further inland, trekking through the thick thrush and trees. The rain held steady, cold and miserable, your hair soaked and dripping water onto the back of your neck. You shuddered. You’d lost your jacket in the fray, and now you really wish you hadn’t. Taking it off to cool down was a mistake.
Your jeans were heavy, denim saturated with blood and water, dragging your steps. Pain throbbed through you sharply. You panted quietly as you walked, urging our legs not to shake.
Lev spotted a torch flickering up ahead, and the trees weren’t thick enough to hide behind. He and Abby dropped into the brush. You bent tenderly, trying to tenderly lower yourself onto your stomach, but pain shot through you, your legs giving out, leaving you to lower yourself the rest of the way on your hands. The movement tensed up the muscles of your abdomen, punctured muscle screeching in pain.
A cry tore through your throat before you could bite it back, your torso pressing into the mud. Abby watched you, eyes wide, as you shifted your weight onto your good side and clutched at your wound, eyes screwing shut.
That noise had been too loud. The torch faltered, swinging in your direction, firelight glinting off of wet foliage. The plants weren’t covering you all that well. You could still feel the cold breeze on your shoulders. You needed to shift closer to Abby, where the ferns grew thickly up around the base of a tree. The ground was sunken in around the roots, and it was better cover.
Your body wouldn't move, not yet. A shuddering heat had started washing over you in waves, rendering you nauseous and exhausted. You looked up at the person holding the torch. A Scar. 3 of them, actually.
You needed to move. Even just a couple meters to the left, you could hide from view. Fuck. It was so simple, but it felt like a huge task. Pressing your fingers into the dirt, you crawled forward slightly, trying to pivot. Once again, the pain was jarring.
You gritted your teeth so hard it felt like they would crack, a guttural noise leaving you. Your body was failing you. The flickering firelight shifted closer, painting the face of the scar holding the torch. Shadows caught jaggedly in the lines carved along her face, her eyes alert.
You heard a shift beside you, then a hand was over your mouth. Abby’s again. She crouched beside you, wrapping an arm around you and dragging you further into the brush, sitting you against the tree. You made a pained nose into the damp, cool skin of her hand.
Her arm dug into your side in her haste, a fresh wave of tears welling in your eyes. Wet ferns clipped you as she hauled you back, your body sagging as soon as she let you sit back.
You laid a hand tenderly over where blood was already soaking through gauze, swallowing a thick sob. Abby’s hand squeezed your arm firmly, a silent reassurance. You watched the wavering flame pass by, plants rustling quietly as the scars passed.
No one spoke for a while. You were grateful for the rest. And they could still be within earshot. Getting caught would be a pain in the ass. It was only 3 people, but it was better to be careful.
Abby shifted beside you, carefully climbing to her feet, scanning your surroundings wearily.
“Too fuckin’ close. “ She muttered, turning to you and holding out a hand.
You groaned in protest, curling your fingers around her wrist and using the tree behind you to get to your feet. You stumbled slightly, soles sliding through the mossy soil. Abby held you steady, once again.
You braced a hand against the tree, coughing hoarsely, craning your head forward and gagging slightly, spitting bile onto the ground. God, you felt so dizzy..
Abby wrinkled her nose, stepping away to avoid getting vomit on her boots.
“Ugh, dude..” She groaned, watching you retch onto the ground.
“Fuck..” You hissed, slamming a fist into the tree trunk, dropping your head. You screwed your eyes shut, a quiet whimper leaving you. “Can’t fucking do this..” You gritted out, arms trembling.
Your mouth tasted like thick, bitter stomach acid and blood. You heard the seraphite boy nagging Abby again, urging her to keep moving, but your ears were ringing, your vision blurred. Your face looked sickly, the usual warm tone of your flesh now sickly and lifeless.
Abby could see it, even in the drab light that made it past the bulging, dark clouds overhead. She scanned you impatiently, glancing at Lev.
“Don’t fucking complain.” She snapped suddenly. “Can’t believe I'm doing this shit..” There was some of that disdain again. It was slightly comforting, to see a glimpse of what you were used to.
Processing her words, you twisted your head back to look at her, face twisted in confusion.
Her arms were unyielding as they wrapped around you, muscles flexing under your weight, lifting your legs from beneath you. There wasn’t much resistance, your knees had been buckling for the last 10 minutes of walking.
She was holding you bridal style. Fuck’s sake. Maybe you did have a little pride left, and it jerked and snarled in your chest at the coddling. Of all people. You never thought you’d be caught dead doing something like this.
You and Abby had such a strong contempt for the other that half of the stadium knew about the 2 of you. Nobody knew why. You were both ex-fireflies, dragged in from a crumbling post in Utah. You should’ve been part of the Salt-Lake crew, but you weren’t. You affiliated with others as soon as you were settled within the WLF.
Isaac questioned it once. Only once, though. To him, it was some girl drama that wasn’t worth his time.
“The fuck are you doing?” You protested, flinching as you were jostled slightly.
“Stop questioning everything I do!” She bit, her hold on you tightening slightly. “We need to get off of this fucking island.”
She was dead set right now. No dry remarks or mocking. Ugh. You didn’t like it when she was this serious.
Your head drooped back, body relaxing slightly. Lev pressed ahead, bow at the ready. Abby had made herself defenseless by carrying you. You were slowing her down, and putting her at risk. But she was going to all this effort for you nonetheless.
You’d spat on her boot before. The snark from you had been endless. She should not at all be inclined to save your sorry ass, but she had to be some sort of saviour. Of course.
You quickly made progress, shifting further into the trees as you passed Haven. Now was the scary part. Making a break for the water to get to the docks.
“Okay.” Abby breathed, setting you down. “This is gonna suck, but we need to sprint down to the shore and get into the water as fast as we can. There’s no shelter once we step out there.”
You panted quietly, nodding. You were on the verge of collapse. Wading through water in this state was a big ask, but the familiar noise of violence kicked up adrenaline within you once again.
The docks were swarming with people, supports burning, walkways collapsing, but there were a few row-boats still remaining. You fished out your gun again, holding it firmly with 2 sweaty, shaking hands, and nodded, jaw setting tight.
Abby glanced at Lev, who still had his bow still drawn. He looked much readier than you felt. You were a little shocked at his resilience. Impressed, even. You inhaled and exhaled heavily, bracing yourself for more pain.
You took off from the treeline, mud squelching under your boots, pulling at your feet. You were right. Running hurt so much. But your heart thudded in your chest, another high thrumming through you.
Water splashed below you as you dropped down into the water, icy cold seeping into you. The weight of the water fought against you, legs straining to keep up the pace. The effort increased the pain tenfold, muscles tensing in all the wrong places.
You made it out further, weaving between the thick wooden beams holding up the dock. The fighting was directly overhead, but it was too frantic for people to look below. A body fell directly before you, your legs faltering as you jerked back to avoid tripping. You wobbled as you shifted your path, arm clipping a post, barnacles dragging across your arm, scraping skin, blood welling instantly.
You paid no mind, keeping your eyes on Abby, who had her sights set on a boat. Another scar fell, almost on top of her, still alive. Wounded, but thrashing. They grabbed on, clawing at her, dragging her into the water with the momentum of their fall. Shit.
You dragged yourself forward, raising your gun and pulling back the trigger. Your arms swayed, vision doubled, and the bullet hit the water beside them. You tried again, but your gun clicked. Empty. Great.
The scar drew a machete, raising it overhead. You dived, tackling them off of Abby, who had been grabbing blindly. She was rarely caught off guard in combat, but that had been unfortunate.
You swung a fist down, hand connecting with the head of the man below you. He dragged his head out of the water, grabbing at you, clumsily swinging the machete at you with as much force as he could muster. It wasn’t much, but the blade was sharp, the edge glinting brightly.
You batted at their arm, knocking the blade back. Their hand grabbed at your face, then your neck, desperately trying to twist you around and get the upper ground. You coughed, swinging your fist again, wrist and knuckles aching, and punched again, then again, the dark water tinging red in the firelight.
Abby had recovered, dragging herself out of the water, spitting the bitter water out of her mouth, pulling you away from the scar. You stumbled forward, trampling the scar as she urgently pulled you forward.
Lev climbed into the boat first, then Abby hauled you over the edge, climbing in and nearly landing on top of you in the process. She quickly shifted, sitting down and bracing you against her torso, so Lev had some room.
You slumped, weight pressing against Abby’s stomach.
“Fuck..” You groaned. “M’gonna.. Gonna..” You trailed off, eyes fluttering shut.
Without the adrenaline from before, the pain in your side became too much, the strain in your muscles weighing you down. Now that you were safe, as safe as you could be right next to a scar, you passed out, laid up against Abby like a lover. The wind and the rain was frigid, but your body was too tanked out to take notice.
Shot, bloody and shaking on the night of the scar raid, you came face to face with a woman you'd bared your teeth at for the past 5 years. She was a walking reminder of your horrific time in Salt Lake City, and both of you despised each other simply for existing in each other's space.
Now, with you inching closer to death, Isaac dead, and Abby- who'd been AWOL for days- accompanied by a young scar boy, it was go with her or bleed out.
You should've pulled your gun. But there was a softness with her, a glimpse of what you once loved as a hopeless 15 year old. So you recklessly let her drag you along.
Will it be a chance for something good, or will it bring more misery into your life?

Week 3
This week was rough. You assumed it would be the last one. You were close to Santa Barbara. But not close enough. It was day 1 week 3 and as you and Abby walked, you realized you would need a boat.
“There’s a Seraphite hideout nearby.. I recognize where we are the closer we get to the water..”
Abby looked around and let you go in front for the first time and let you lead the way. As you both walked closer you were starting to hear the whistles. It was getting darker as the sun went down, the Seraphites had their torches out as you and Abby crouched down behind a tree. Their hideout was in a tall building. It was broken from the bottom floor but made it easier to get in and out. They were all upstairs. The Seraphites used the same routine on repeat. One stood by the window, one by the door, one on the other side of the room, then rotate.
You just had to sneak under them and get to the boat on the other side. There was one standing near the boat. You sunk by with Abby trying to stay as quiet as you both could be with water splashing beneath you. You took your bow and arrow out, took a steady breath and shot him in the head, it went in clean and didn’t break. Abby looked surprised but hadn’t said anything. You both got to the boat and before you started the engine you took your bow back out of the man’s head. You started to boat up quick and got out of the area. You heard them whistling, one long whistle signaling they had found a dead body. You didn’t glance back.
The ride was silent, you didn’t know where you were going so when you left the area you weren’t familiar with you switched spots with Abby. As you sat in her spot she started speaking.
“You don’t hesitate.. I’m assuming you didn’t know him then?”
You let out a humorless laugh.
“Do you know every single wolf?”
She shook her head then smiled.
“Touché..”
“Touché..? What?”
“Touché like- never mind..”
You tilted your head, you were confused to say the least but when you made eye contact with her she just smiled. She stopped making you feel bad for not knowing things someone this day and age should know. You felt your face get warm. She saw but didn’t say anything.
You looked away and looked at the ocean.
“I never asked.. who’s so important that we’re traveling almost more than 3 weeks to get there?”
She looked forward, looking past you.
“Fireflies.. Owen-“
She let out a small laugh it almost sounded sad.
“made such a big deal out of it.. we promised each other at least one of us would get back to them.”
“fireflies? I thought they weren’t around anymore.. why would they be in Santa Barbara?
She answered your question.
“We got.. Well Owen got intel that they were over there. I used to be a firefly.. before we got.. recruited into the WLF..”
Your eyebrows raised a little then a soft smile appeared on your lips, you turned back to look at her just a small glance. She didn’t understand why you smiled at something that had a simple explanation. Until you said
“you’re opening up a lot more.. i appreciate it.. makes this.. me feel less lonely..”
Abby nodded, she didn’t say anything back. She seemed like she was holding something back. You could see it in the way her shoulders just ever so slightly tensed and her mouth formed a thin line for a moment before relaxing. You sat in the boat, took a deep breath and felt relaxed for the first time in maybe years. Especially since running away. You felt the exhaustion take over. Your body swayed a little and you became hunched over. Abby saw
“Don’t fall asleep.. you’ll end up falling out of the boat..”
A small laugh came from her mouth as she reached out and shook you. You woke you up a little. You sat up straight and shook your head.
You wondered how long you’d be on the boat. Would you make stops? Or just keeping going hoping to reach your destination sooner?
After a day you realize there wouldn’t be any stops. Abby seemed determined, you switched spots a few times but for the most part Abby drove. You had wished there had been a bigger boat. Maybe you guys could’ve rested more if it was bigger. When one of you got tired the other drove while the one who was tired slept uncomfortably on the floor half laying down.
Now after a long week of trying to stretch the amount of food you had between both of you and have clean water was almost over. You saw land. You almost cheered out loud from just the sight. The boat had surprisingly not given out yet. Sure you had to hit it a few times to make it go but it still worked.
After an hour or so you got to land, the boat hit the sand hard but you instantly crawled out and fell. You didn’t care, you landed on the sand and laid there. Your body felt wobbly, like you were still on the boat and water was moving your body even on land. Abby got up off the boat and stretched. She grabbed her backpack and took out a map. You turned over on your back. You lifted your hand up covering your eyes from the sun.
“Come on..”
You watched her walk over to you and she lent you her hand. You took it and stood up holding onto her longer than you needed to. You held her hand with one of your hands as the other held her bicep while you tried to stand up straight. You looked up at her, your hands released her and you moved back a little..
“Where.. where to?”
“Just keep up..”
You huffed a little at her response. You followed her as she started walking. From the beach there was a pair of broken stairs leading up. She got up with ease, you jumped up and pulled yourself up. The waves crashed against the sand, it was a calming noise to you. It faded away once you both got to the top of the stairs. Then there was a sign, SANTA BARBARA. You officially made it. But how did Abby expect to find fireflies here?
“How do you expect we find them?”
She didn’t glance back at you, just kept walking.
“Search.. If we find people here maybe we can trade information..”
After hearing that you realized Abby had no idea where the fireflies were. She just knew they were here in Santa Barbara. You nodded and took a deep breath. You trusted her.
“So should we search the houses..?”
She nodded
“But keep close..”
You both searched through houses together, there was a surprising amount of resources. Even if it didn’t seem useful it was. There were a few Demons or clickers inside. You killed some and so did Abby. After searching around 8 houses you sighed and stayed next to Abby.
“Are we sure this is the right method.. couldn’t we just explore.. outside..”
Abby turned to face you, her face showed she was thinking for a moment. She lifted her hand into a fist and let her other hand hold it as she looked around.
“Alright.. sure.. just remember which house we stopped at if we make our way back over here..”
As you both walked past all the houses you asked her.
“You talk in your sleep..”
She kept walking but you noticed her step had faltered but then she gained the same amount of pace again.
“I know…”
“So who’s Joel..?”

a/n: lemme know if you like this series.. you already know where this is heading right?
Just thinking about canon universe, where Abby and reader both have these weirdly obsessive fascinations with the sea. But Abby loves the more surface level ones, like the seals. All of the cute colorful fish, she learns about coral reefs, cute little clownfish, etc.
But then reader loves deepsea fish. So Abby and her are in the library showing eachother books about their respective favoriates. Abby has a bunch of pretty and cute images, and reader will just flip to a page of the most horrific prehistoric looking fish and be like;
''isn't he cute? :D''
Yep that's my next fic, idk how long it'll take though since i'm really sick and stuffy, and my eyelids are swollen from sneezing so much (,,•᷄﹏•᷅,,)
strap referred to as cock. sub & bottom ellie. MDNI.
thinking about bunny ellie whose libido is so very high and she begs to at least be allowed to hump your leg very late into the night. she strips down to nothing but her boxers and straddles your leg just slightly above the knee. it gives her hands enough reach to steady themselves on your hips, and ellie doesn’t waste any more time before she rocks herself back and forth. she pants more than anything, desperate to keep quiet, but she can’t help but whine and whimper when your palms cup her small breasts and tweak her erect nipples. you’re also so mean by taking advantage of her light body weight and easily roll her over onto her back just as she’s about to come, only to watch those freckled cheeks twist in a grimace as an orgasm’s ripped away from her.
also thinking about ellabs threesome where abby is taking ellie from behind as ellie lays face-down between your legs. ellie tries so, so desperately to go down on you properly, but she’s nothing short of a babbling mess because of how well abby angles her hips with each thrust. she whimpers and sniffles against your cunt as abby’s cock splits her open, and she hangs onto the meat of your thighs when abby’s hand presses up against her navel to ensure she feels her thoroughly. ellie’s then forced to sit and watch as you sink down on abby’s strap so that she can fuck an orgasm out of you, unable to touch herself or hump a pillow in the process as punishment for not having had made you finish herself.
but she’s also later rewarded with many kisses to her cheeks as she’s smushed between you and abby.
