He couldn’t hide his relief in letting the fans know the decision as he posted his tweet. “I guess there really is no going back now.”
He dropped his phone and moved closer into your side, intertwining his hand with yours. “Have you thought anymore about where you go?”
His head nodded, squeezing your hand. “Home,” was all he said, unable to hide the smile that grew as he spoke.
“If anyone deserves to go home it’s you, it’s what I want for you too.”
“But I want you to come to,” he smiled.
Your brows knitted together; you’d only met Mark’s family a handful of times when you’d been to visit. “You’re not just saying that to make me feel better, are you?”
“I want you with me, wherever I am in the world. We can find you a job, my family will help us out, I can’t leave you in Seoul all alone,” he smiled, “I can’t leave you behind.”
“It’s a huge decision to make,” you reminded him, but his mind was already made up, if he was honest, it had been made for quite some time.
His shoulders shrugged, “I want us to be together at home, I want us to start a new life away from all of this, we can try something new.”
“I want for that too; I want you to finally show the world your thing.”
For days you’d sat back and watched Jaebum smile through the pain, as the leader, he refused to show any emotion. “I’m fine,” he told you once again.
He tried to walk away, but you quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him back to face you. “You don’t have to pretend in front of me, please be honest.”
His eyes looked down and met yours, “I’m relieved Y/N, I feel like finally I can be appreciated for my talent rather than constantly made to feel like I’m not good enough.”
“Then show that, I know this has impacted more than you think it has.”
“It’s not worth my tears, I should be happy,” he stated.
Your eyes rolled, squeezing his hand tightly, “you can’t throw away seven years of your life just like that, I know the last few months haven’t been great, but you still had so many highs.”
“I walk away with six best friends and plenty of memories, but that’s what I walk into this new chapter with too, losing the company is something I can throw away.”
“I just want to make sure you’re alright,” you sighed, “you always put up your guard around the boys, but you don’t have to do that with me.”
He stepped forwards, pressing a kiss to the top of your head, “I promise you that I’m fine, I’m excited to be free and see where everything goes.”
“That makes me feel better, I just want to know that you’re happy, that’s all.”
The nod of his head as he walked into the house told you everything that you needed to know about what happened. “We’re going.”
You didn’t react as he walked closer towards you, waiting to see his expression first. “How do you feel about it? Was anything said?”
He sighed, sitting himself beside you. “There was nothing for him to say, we told him seven or nothing, and in the end, he chose nothing.”
“But he’s crazy for only wanting a few of you, did he think you’d turn against each other?”
“He must have done, but we said no,” he proudly smiled.
You reached out and took a tight hold of his hand, “I’m proud of you for following your heart, I know it can’t have been an easy decision for all of you to make.”
“He made it easy,” Jackson clarified, “the second he made us feel like some were better than others our minds were made up. We couldn’t do that to each other.”
“What’s next?” You asked, although you were pretty sure you already knew the answer. “Do you stay here; do you want to go back to China?”
His shoulders shrugged, “I don’t care where I am at the moment, I think I just want to enjoy some time with you first before I worry about the future.”
“You know that wherever in the world you choose to go I’ll be there too.”
Watching his shoulders drop as the statement was released, the relief on his face was clear as he turned to face you. “It’s done.”
You made your way over to him, wrapping your arms around his waist tightly. “I don’t know exactly what to say to you at this point.”
His shoulders shrugged, “it feels weird, I don’t know whether to be happy or sad. I’m almost numb.”
“It was seven years of your life Jinyoung, you’re bound to be confused.”
“And now it’s over,” he frowned.
You rested your chin against his shoulder, “it’s not over, it’s only just begun. Now you get to work with the freedom to do what you want, all of you do. Isn’t that what you’ve wanted all along?”
“Of course,” he smiled, resting his hand over yours, “it’s just quite overwhelming to know that at last I’ll really be able to do more of what I want.”
“In a few days once it sinks in, you’ll know how you feel, no one’s expecting you to feel any way right now,” you reminded him.
His head nodded in response, “I’m excited to be able to do more with you, without anyone else telling me what I can and can’t do.”
“I’m excited too, finally you get to be the Park Jinyoung everyone knows you are.”
The light across the room from Youngjae’s lamp was enough to wake you as you stirred in your sleep to see him still sat up. “Are you alright?”
He jumped at the sound of your voice, looking down at you whilst nodding your head. “I guess I’m just thinking about a lot right now.”
You smiled, moving so you were sat up beside him. “I know it’s been a difficult few days, but there’s nothing you can worry about anymore.”
“I worry about the fans; I worry that they’ll feel like we’ve let them down or abandoned them.”
“Your fans have wanted you to leave for years,” you reminded him.
He smiled gently, resting his head against your shoulder, “they’ve always told us to go, but now we’re going to go and do our own thing, I don’t want to lose all of their support.”
“I promise you, you won’t,” you desperately assured him, “the outpouring of love from all of them tells me that they’ll always have your back.”
“I guess now it’s happening it just feels very real, no one really knows how to react,” he continued to murmur, clearing his thoughts.
You smiled down at him, “in a few days once all of this has settled, you’ll realise everyone who supports you has got the outcome they wanted.”
“I know that you’re right, I just need to let it hit me, that’s all.”
Your eyes widened as you noticed the reply BamBam had sent to a fan after asking about the contracts. “Are you allowed to do that?”
His hand dismissed it, smiling widely across at you. “Who cares what I’m allowed to do, he only controls me for a few more days Y/N.”
Your head shook at his sassy attitude, “do all the other companies realise what they’ll get into if they sign you?”
“Probably not, but if they treat me well, they won’t have to worry about that.”
“I don’t think they can treat you any worse,” you pointed out.
His eyes widened, wrapping his arms around your waist. “You’re just as bad as me for being sarcastic about it all. You’ll get me in trouble before I get myself in trouble.”
“You said it yourself, he doesn’t control you for much longer. I’ve had to bite my tongue for so long and stand back and watch you get treated so poorly.”
“Not anymore,” he cheered, lifting you up into the air, “now we just get to sit back and watch on as he realises what a huge mistake he’s made.”
Your head nodded excitedly, “it won’t take long before he realises what a huge mistake he made letting all of you go.”
“We’ll all make sure he regrets it and show him how talented GOT7 really are.”
The moment he posted the photo, his phone slipped out of his hand, his head sunk down, covering his face with his hands. “Yugyeom,” you whispered.
As soon as you were close enough, he reached out to pull you closely into his side. “I shouldn’t be upset, this is what we want, but it hurts.”
Your hand brushed carefully through his hair, “it’s expected that you’d feel this way, it’s taken a lot out of you.”
“So much of the future scares me, I don’t even know what will happen next.”
His head slowly lifted to look up at you, “how can you predict what’s going to happen? What if I’m just forgotten about now? I’ve seen it happen to others, so why not me?”
“Because now you get to do what you want to do,” you assured him, wiping away his tears, “you’re going to a company who will treasure you and help you.”
“I just really want it to work out,” he sighed, letting go of a shaky breath, “suddenly it feels like I’m starting all over again like I did all those years ago.”
You nodded, gripping onto him a little bit tighter, “but you’ve learnt a lot and you’re much more experienced now, you know this is the right thing to do.”
“I know it is, it just feels so strange that this is the future now.”
