Happy birthday, Twilight Princess. You changed my life today, in 2006. I was maybe 5 or 6? But the day you touched my heart on the GameCube, you introduced me to one of the best franchises and to my favorite game of all time.
You showed me wonderful worlds, an entrancing story, insane character development, and set my personal standard of how a Zelda game SHOULD be. I can never play you once without letting the intro play to its full, as the chorus sweeps over Hyrule with the Hero of Twilight atop his steed.
And of course.. her.
Midna.
Princess of Twilight, queen of sass, mysterious woman of beauty, and a character that deserves her second chance. She stood with her Hero, first using him. But after seeing the good in his heart, how pure he was.. she changed.

With Breath of the Wild's sequel approaching us next year, or the year after, I pray and hope that maybe she can return. Breath of the Wild seems like such a fresh restart for the franchise that spans nearly 30+ years, and the return of Midna would delight hundreds of Zelda fans.
I used to visit WantMidnaBack when it had a website. It was like a safe haven for Twilight Princess fans, who were getting dogged at the time for liking a game that people thought was a gimmicky muddy mess and a copy of Ocarina of Time. Now, Tumblr and YouTube seem to be the only place for people to speak their voice and how they feel about it after so long, finally coming out of our own shadows.
Please, if you haven't played this game, do so. Even if you end up not enjoying it, you'll hopefully see why I and many others do.
To the Twilight Princess fans, hang out there. TPHD can always come to the Switch, the manga has been perfection spanning 8 volumes thus far and still going strong, and there's so much hinting towards us getting something in BotW2. Love you guys. Tag your Zelda friends to this post, if you'd like.

so, TP has hit 15 years of being here, and man, the manga has treated us so well but Nintendo hasn't bat an eye.
but that's okay. id rather live in a world where metroid dread smashed my brain and made me mush at how amazing it was than get a half baked port of my favorite game of all time (cause let's be honest, TPHD was FINE but not amazing).
so here's to 15 more years for best game, and let's remain optimistic for something in BotW2. 💞
