I don’t know what I like more this seat or this tank…or the handlebars…….or the headlights……or maybe the forks……

*Sitting at a red light when I hear Stranger: wait what?? *trying to cover her ear as she chatted away on her cell phone

Normally I would be polite and would be quiet when I hear someone say “what?” so they could hear better but then I thought about it and said to myself Me: Hold up she’s on the phone trying to drive…. Needless to say I gave my bike some much needed revving

She pulled up next to me, off her phone, looking at me as if to say Stranger: Thanks jerk I smiled back as if to say Me: You’re welcome…

Looking back at the melodies we wrote together Time well spent with pen in hand Adventure books filled to the brim With unfinished journey’s that we had planned

Looking back at the roads we once traveled The places I said I’d never forget Now just memories with distance between us Like the day before the first day we met

Looking back at life before I saw you Before my heart skipped several beats When dead end roads where all I wandered With beaten paths beneath my feet

Now I sit here

Looking back at our old pictures As my heart sings a solo note About a melody of adventure A journey my lady should have wrote

Looking back at the roads we once rode Memories of first meetings a perfect tether As I wander through life before I saw you Down a path that we had beaten together I miss my bike.
