âOh, how great,â Anderson mocked, swaying on his feet. âThe freakâs saviour. âs this some twisted version oâ beauty and the beast? Are you guys poofs? And âere I was believinâ the stories of the great Watson, who pulled the bird from pharmacology or whâtever the blonde lass âs studyinâ.â
 It was hard to comprehend half of what he said, but the tone told John everything he needed to know. It was, in fact, enough to piss him off.
âIâm warning you, Anderson, leave before I end you,â John threatened, sure he could take the bastard without even sweating. Comparing their states of tipsiness just reassured him further. âOr dâyou want your fingers to match that nose? Maybe a broken armâd suit you as well.â
âYou only even touched me âcause I wasnât expectinâ it, poof!â Anderson yelled.
John stepped closer, between the two morons and the door to 221.
âWhat the hell do you even have against the people who live here? That lady is so sweet!â
They looked confused for a second, a flash of doubt passing their faces, before Anderson finally stammered out his answer, âWhat olâ lady? This âs where the freak lives! Or maybe youâd prefer I write fag on âis door.â He was so unsteady on his feet, he almost pulled Sally down with him, but she kept the two of them upright.
Johnâs fist clenched at his side, and he pulled his shirtâs sleeve up, preparing himself to run in case the police caught him beating the crap out of the moron in front of him.
âIâm warning you, Anderson, do not test my patience.â He didnât really need to threaten with an âor whatâ, since they all knew what would happen if they stepped a foot out of line. John didnât even care if he got arrested for ripping the bastardâs face off.Â
Suddenly, a look of utter horror appeared on both their faces. Their legs seemed to actually tremble with fear as they took a couple of steps back. That same fear made their eyes pop out of their sockets and their skin turn so pale it took a near blue-ish tone.
John thought heâd accomplished his mission of intimidating them, until he noticed Sallyâs eyes, filled with panic, traveling from something over his head to his face, moving back up again.
Something behind John moved closer, brushing against his back, making him tense up.
âGo,â a voiceâ deep and low, which John recognized immediately, although he knew there was something different about itâ sounded behind him.
