Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade 1999
Watching jin roh is more like assembling a heavy suit of armor , a kind that makes it difficult to breathe, visuals are flawless. But characters turns into a dull masks after some point. Political subtexts exist but it plays on background like a distant soundtrack. Also The Little Red Riding Hood tale is enchanting at first, then becomes a chain.
James Lord 1994- Giacometti
Late at night in Giacomettiās Paris studio, James Lord sits for what was supposed to be a simple portrait. The room smells of turpentine, the walls cluttered with sketches. Giacometti works endlessly, scraping, repainting, never satisfied.
Three young Christian girls, Theresia Morangke (15), Alfita Poliwo (17) and Yarni Sambue (17), were executed by a group of extremist jihadists on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec ā Le Lit (1892ā93)
This painting shows two women lying close together in bed, their faces almost touching. The intimacy is quiet, tender, and protective. It is not about eroticism, but about the simple comfort of sharing space, breathing together, and finding safety in another person.
The white sheets and warm tones create a sense of softness, while the close framing places the viewer inside a private moment. At the same time, the figures are turned toward each other, not toward us, which makes us both witnesses and outsiders.
What makes this work even more striking is how it reflects something Toulouse-Lautrec himself could never fully experience. Because of his fragile health, physical limitations, and struggles in personal relationships, closeness and gentle intimacy were things largely absent from his own life. He spent much of his time observing rather than participating.
Seen this way, Le Lit is not only a depiction of two women in bedāit is also Lautrecās projection of a warmth and security he longed for but could not have. The tenderness on canvas is both real, in the figures he painted, and imagined, in the life he himself desired.
Kevin Francis Gray ā Ghost Girl
A veil made of beads. You expect a young face beneathā
but there is only the silent map of bones.
Beauty invites you closer; truth waits in the shadows.
In Ghost Girl, the weight of marble meets the shimmer of glass beads. Cold stone whispers permanence, while trembling light breathes impermanence.
The body stands in a quiet contrapposto,
head lowered, shoulders heavy.
The veil hides more than a faceā
it hides a story. Behind it are scars,
a past that speaks without words.
An identity caught between the seen and the unseen.
The skeletal face recalls memento mori.
Yet here, whatās immortalized
is not heroism, but the silent resistance of survival.
From the front, beauty holds you still.
From behind, the truth reaches for you.
You leave carrying both.
I been thinking about death recently, i'm really overwhelmed about everything around and its just keep getting worse. I do fight with it of course, thats what i have to do but. The feeling of hurting the people who TRULY loves you because of your pain makes me crumble so much more. I dont know what will fix that. Even the times i feel alive it does not last any longer. And in a day im having so much up and downs which is really tiring. I dont know what makes me this much sick... I cant get up because stress and hell, pills are even worse for me. I wonder about
