“my father is a boy and my mother is a girl so i’m mixed” is the funniest possible response to someone asking your gender and it came from 6’5 Viking footballer and notable weird little guy Erling Haaland on a Snapchat
You know there’s something to the relative anarchy of the MDZS jianghu that’s really appealing to me. I don’t think about it often but when I think about what it could be (a fully fictionalized version of imperial China complete with emperor), I’m grateful for what it is. I feel like even in canon setting fanfiction we never see anyone who ranks higher than like a city magistrate or something. It’s implied that the great sects are the ruling powers but they also don’t get super involved in civilian affairs. It creates this feeling that every city and town and village is living under their own authority, for the most part, in a relatively peaceful and decentralized way. Anarchy
Personal space? None needed
Saw this tweet and thought it sounded like something that would happen to them
That particular disappointment of the more literate-than-average child upon discovering that “gaol” is just pronounced “jail”
I MISS THE HEADPHONE JACK FUCK YOU!!!!!!
hey everyone, just curious:
what is everyone's criteria for blocking people?
Writers, which software do you use?
Google docs
Microsoft word
Ellipsus
Libre office - writer
Notepad (the fuck is wrong with you lol)
Pages
Other (comment, please, esp if you recommend it)
Checking results
I used to use Google docs, but the white mode only was really annoying me (tires my eyes), so I swapped to Ellipsus (which I genuinely love and recommend), but it was bothering me a bit that I need wifi in order to use it, so now I switched to LibreOffice Writer, which I do like.
It very much has a Microsoft Word feel, but is open source and you need no accounts to use it. It's local on your device, so no AI can scan it, and no wifi is needed.
I still wish it had the Google Docs cards, because, bitch, that thing is so good for easy organizing.
What are you reading rn, why are you reading it, and what format are you reading it in (physical book, ereader, on your phone etc)
Where’s that post about fanfic writers faking their way through things. Bc I just read someone try to fake their way through mangroves and redwoods. Both. At the same time.
Okay who was going to tell me Mother Mary absolutely FUCKS
despite that Coronabeth Tridentarius is frequently called the most beautiful out of all tlt characters, it's Camilla Hect who is flirted with the most. multiple characters find her attractive, and Nona, who is literally planet earth (therefore has universal taste) called Corona almost pretty enough for Camilla, which strongly suggests that Camilla Hect is the hottest tlt character. in this essay i will-
Tech people keep walking into my job and being like “wow I want to leave tech, I want to work a trade” and it’s like hahaha yeah it’s all fun and dandy with the job security but I doubt you’d be so keen if you knew my monthly wage is probably equal to what you’re about to spend on one framed artwork
i saw a tumblr post a while ago that implied that the purpose of book reviews is to help the author get better at their craft by evaluating the book and pointing out its strengths and weaknesses, and i disagree with that so strongly. a book review is not for the author of the book you’re writing about. it’s for potential readers, and readers who want to see someone else’s thoughts on the book. and on a more personal level, it’s for you, the reviewer, to bring your own analysis and your unique perspective to the review. a book review is about the book you’re reviewing, obviously, but it’s also about you, and what that book meant to you, and why it affected you the way it did. a book review can and should discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the book, but not for the purpose of instructing the writer how to improve their craft. that’s not your job. the author of the book may read your review, but if you have the idea that you’re writing for them, that you’re their editor or pr manager, then you misunderstand the purpose of a book review, and your review will suffer for it.
thinking about this tag on my post again. i'm saying this all the time forever
oh i'm also saying this one all the time forever
