Gonna show off some knife tricks with ruby

DO NOT do that!! that would really piss them off, and Ruby would see you as untrustworthy from then on. they can barely see a knife without feeling paranoid as is. and while they tolerated your silly flirting, Ruby doesn't fuck around with phobias, fears, or trauma.

(honestly, if you told any of the skeles you wanted to do this, they would warn you not to beforehand. you'd also lose Carmine's trust immediately, even though you've never technically met her before.)

Ruby, i think... doesn't normally cook. they absolutely REFUSE to cook, unless they have to. and if they have to, Ruby will use the knife- they don't trust it in the hands of anyone else.

Carmine is trying to do very small steps of exposure therapy (along with getting Ruby actual therapy) to try and ease their fear of silver metals and knives. it is going... VERY slowly. but Ruby is slightly less afraid of them overall...! unfortunately, they are also stubborn, and doesn't see the point in trying to relieve their fears of sharp pointy metals. isn't it a valid fear or somethin'?? (yes, but not to the extent where you start shaking and sweating profusely when you see literally anyone hold a knife.)

Has Ruby been spooked by any silver jewelry

unfortunately Indy looks very good in silver jewelry (in his own opinion), and he had plans to go out with some of his non-skeletal (human and monster) friends, so Ruby has in fact been spooked lately lol.

not too badly- just a few anklets and a necklace- but Ruby refused to look at him when they noticed Indigo's bangles.

Has peach stared into any souls today

yes! Carmine is the most creeped out by it... which obviously makes her a prime target for Peach's Unnerving Staring (and zoning out in the process lol)

Peach has been told a lot of times that it's creepy, but she finds a lot of humor in horror. i mean, people do insist that she makes eye(light) contact... so she does!

(it's a great tactic to make people stop asking Peach to consistently look at them while they're talking. she has a hard time concentrating on one's face and one's voice at the same time- Persimmon suspects she may be hard-of-hearing, or/and have severe sensory processing issues because of this... and a few other reasons, too.)

good news, folks!

i have finished the First Official Chapter (again, but much better this time) for Less Than Magic, and it's posted on Ao3!

it's about this character (Zil'ec "Zee" Underwood, a sea monster), and their struggles with adulthood and feeling disconnected from both monsterkind and humanity. also the Underswap, Underfell, and Horrortale skeleton monsters have been transported to Havenplace- Zil'ec's current home- by a different skeleton monster (mostly by accident).

can they manage working together to get home? will Zee's sanity survive the process?? who knows!!

it'll take nothing less than magic to get those ornery skeles to get along, because sometimes The Power Of Friendship isn't quite enough to get adults to cooperate.
