The ‘tourdion’ was a stiff couple dance, and a description of it can be found in Thoinot Arbeau’s Orchésographie (1589). The dance however disappeared around the end of the XVIth century, and only the drinking song remained.

The knight was no match for the admittedly very elegant alchemist’s words. Like a thousand fiery swords, they pierced through Sir Barnham’s armor, shattering the mind’s pride.

This was probably the worst misunderstanding of his life.

Both his brain and his sword had been branded as short and useless, only tears fell down from the gray pearls he called eyes. 

“M-My misunderstanding. I shall be leaving now.”

He is still handing the man a handkerchief, for his tears. And cold water, to soothe the burn.

Her head tilts back to look at her father, bright blue eyes blinking up at him expectantly. Fairy tales were some of her favorite stories, but more so when her father read them with her.

“It wouldn’t be a very good story without a happy ending…”

Her little face contorts in thought.

“But if the witch lived, then the story could go on!”

Newton let out a faint chuckle at his daughter’s enthusiasm. Ever since Arthur had introduced them to fairy tales, he had been allowed to enjoy these quality moments with his daughter -- something he couldn’t usually do, as he was often working in the labs at Labrelum inc. To be able to be there and spend time with Eve was heartwarming, and he wouldn’t exchange that for anything in the world. 

Pale green eyes went back to the book, and the scientist smiled softly as he closed it. 

“Which one would you prefer? A longer story, or a happy ending?” He let out a faint chuckle. “I doubt you will sleep well if I leave you on a cliff hanger.”

She had her mother’s eyes.  That mother who, if he didn’t come back downstairs soon, would scold him for letting their daughter sleep at undue hours. 

“Happily ever after, or to be continued? I can work with both, but the choice is yours, Kitten.”

He is humming softly as he takes care of his rose bushes by the fence. Today was a most wonderful day, too perfect to spend inside. 

...little do the villagers know, this song is actually an old classic from the Beatles. They didn’t have to know either. All they would know would be about ‘take a sad song and make it better’.
