Newton let out a faint chuckle at his daughter’s enthusiasm. Ever since Arthur had introduced them to fairy tales, he had been allowed to enjoy these quality moments with his daughter -- something he couldn’t usually do, as he was often working in the labs at Labrelum inc. To be able to be there and spend time with Eve was heartwarming, and he wouldn’t exchange that for anything in the world.
Pale green eyes went back to the book, and the scientist smiled softly as he closed it.
“Which one would you prefer? A longer story, or a happy ending?” He let out a faint chuckle. “I doubt you will sleep well if I leave you on a cliff hanger.”
She had her mother’s eyes.
That mother who, if he didn’t come back downstairs soon, would scold him for letting their daughter sleep at undue hours.
