Per the Cooldown, there was a room with the stream/river that killed Veth and turned her into the goblin....

...I'm 99% sure the object they were suppose to come out of it was Nott the Brave, his goblin companion. Veth was supposed to allow herself be turned back into Nott to collect the thing they needed.

I didn't watch even a tenth of any Critical Role campaign, and yet here I am, being weak as fuck for both a goblin mother and a suicidal robot, and having a huge crush on Laura Bailey.

assumes Essek and Caleb are now living with the Brenattos full-time

Caleb: *solo parenting a 2 week old halfling baby, getting 0 sleep and letting no one help him*

Veth: *living in a 24-hour dream spa that Caleb won't let her leave because he feels guilty about forcing her to give birth early, sipping a martini and getting a massage by imaginary hunky men.*

Essek and Yeza: *doing the dishes*

Yeza: "So, do you guys think you'll ever move out?"

Essek: "Yes, when Caleb stops feeling guilty."

Yeza: "Ah. So never, then."

Essek: "Yes, I think this is probably our new normal. I'm so sorry."

Yeza: "It's alright. There are worse things. How do you feel about a beef stew for dinner?"

Essek: "I'll get the meat out to thaw."

Veth propaganda!

Veth is a character of s 141 episodes show, each episode at least 4 hours long. During the show she goes through several arcs, exploring themes of racism, gender presentation, body dysphoria, motherhood and more. But AT LARGE fandom STILL TO THIS DAY insist to base her whole characterisation on one misinterpreted scene in EPISODE 13! That scene only occurred because the group of adventures which she travelled with constantly infantilised her and was putting "parent and child" label on her relationship with her best friend - label that was REFUSED by both of them SEVERAL TIMES. So, in episode 13 group confronts Veth, insisting that she's naive child and Caleb is manipulating her. So she turned that statement around and said that if theirs relationship are of child and parent, then SHE IS THE PARENT. She's literally demanded respect from her teammates! But fandom turned it from being about her into being about her bestie and TO THIS DAY insisting that it was her saying that he(10 years older than her!) IS HER SON! Not only they ignore everything that came after episode 13(which includes her being EXPLICITLY IN LOVE with said best friend and that being part of her arc about choosing between duty and her desires),but even that moment get stolen from her to be about her male friend!!

AU where through unfortunate developments, the Mercs fighting alongside the Falconers raid a Creed caravan, looking for healing potions or someone who can heal them

But one wanders into the personal tents of Iris and her young son, Wicander, and her even younger infant son, Lioran. (They were under disguise bc they worried a fancy carriage would put a bigger target on their backs, and set off with only a handful of attendant luxes and knights)

So the merc is sneaking into a tent, thinking this must be where the goods are kept. Unfortunately, Iris catches sight of him. The merc fails a perception check, doesnt notice her children in the tent with her, and reactively goes for aggressive stealth (leave no witnesses).

Iris is slain in front of Wicander. The merc barely has time to register her blood on his hands when Wicander levels up and sprouts wings. The merc is burned by Wicander's light

Now there's two bodies in front of Wic. In a fugue state, he grabs the wailing Lioran and flees from the Creed caravan, his mind a whirling mess

That night, the Halovar scions vanish. The next morning, the Falconer's surrender. Everything still plays out the same except Yanessa is more vocal about demanding Thjazi's blood. It doesnt matter bc Thjazi escapes before any verdict is made

Yanessa re-orients her plans to get Godard with a new wife and children, maybe Ebecca once shes of age to pop out babies. She also moves up the timeline on Aspirants, bringing them into the world earlier than canon

But Wicander is eventually found by a wandering woodsman, who left the war years ago, who stumbled upon an exhausted (near catatonic) Wic with his infant brother still in his arms

By then, there's hardly any sign of their noble lineage, bc its all caked in dirt and splotches of blood. When Wic regains his wits, he has the good sense to tell Kattigan nothing and Kattigan lets the his silence pass by without comment, letting Wic and Lioran tag along as he searches for the murderer of his family

Years pass

Nick is Kattigan Vale's younger brother. He has a temper and a staunch belief in the Creed as his mother taught him. He believes that the Creed is good, that the Light is real and welcomes everyone. He considers the Luxes who preach against the Faeries as heretics, blasphemers of the Creed's good word. And he has picked many fights in town squares over this horrific misinterpretation of his dear Creed. (He wishes dearly that he could simply tell his Grandmother how they pervert their Light in pursuit of power)

Nick is a very angry man. He seeks justice always, spurred on by riotous guilt from murdering a man all those years ago. His greatest sin keeps him from returning him to Dol Makjar and his grandmother. He fears her punishment for his crime, and channels his guilt into being very angry at an unjust world.

Nick covers up his face with a little thespian mask, which he may or may not have stolen from a traveling troupe. He has let Kattigan see his face, as this was unavoidable in their prolonged companionship. Kattigan is aware that Nick is a former Light Priest on the run. Kattigan even knows that Nick killed a man which caused him to run. Kattigan does not know who Wicander Halovar is.

Nick, Kattigan, and little Lee (who poses as Kattigan's son, who believes he is Kattigan's son) arrive in Dol Makjar after over a decade of avoiding the city, when they hear of Thjazi's execution. They find Azune, Occtis, and Teor in Thjazi's hideout as Teor is reaching for Thimble. At which point, Nick reaches out to heal Thimble in full.

Nick follows the rest back to Hal's home, where they gratefully accept a night's rest. The next morning, they leave Lee with Hal as they confront the Crowkeepers. The encounter goes about the same except Nick staunchly keeps Vaelus from killing the Crowkeeper leader

Nick follows Kattigan and Thimble back to Hal's home when Occtis and Vaelus separate to follow Julien. He meets Tyranny there, accompanied by a poisoned Teor who just escaped from the Mercanauds. And just like in canon, the Soldiers get together and set off to find Casimir.

sometimes I remember that Nott/Veth didn't pin all her hopes on Caleb because he was a transmutation wizard but because he's a fire wizard and she thought since she was killed by drowning when she was turned into a goblin she would have to be burned to death to transform back into a halfling and then I sit and stare at a wall for a while

caleb not having a fucking clueee how to interact with yeza for the entire c2 is genuinely one of the best character decisions liam made for him its so funny. its like everytime yeza is in the room caleb has 2 dialogue options and 1 is like say hi to yeza and 2 is like tell yeza his wife is the most beautiful women you've ever met and you would die for her RIGHT NOW and caleb hits option 2 everytime and then sort of scurries away
