Post-NaNo Housekeeping Update

So, this is where I ended up:

From here, I’m going to keep writing until I’m out of outline, because the outline I currently have leaves off in a convenient place; once I’m done with that, I’ll resume outlining, & then come back to finish the rest. I expect I’ll be working on that for a while, but in between, I’m going to try to get some thumbnails done in preparation to draw backgrounds & illustrations. My biggest challenge is that I keep picturing this like a comic, so I keep planning for way more illustrations than I could conceivably manage (or even need, frankly).

In any case--congratulations to anyone who participated! Even if you didn’t make the goal, you did good work!!🎉🎉🎉

Mid-NaNo Housekeeping Update

Slightly more than halfway through November, in case anyone’s wondering where I’m at:

This is the first nine chapters + prologue--some chapters are pretty long, & others are pretty short, & both stress me out🤷

I have way more outline done than I’ll get through in a month, so I’m torn whether to keep writing until I run out, or whether I should resume working on the outline once December hits & come back to write more once the whole thing is planned... What I’ll ultimately do--a mystery!!

I hope anyone else who’s doing NaNo this year is having a good time & making good progress on their work! A good story is a done story!!✨

Pre-NaNo Housekeeping Update

In case anyone’s wondering where we’re at (meaning me; where I am at) regarding prepping for attempting NaNo (again) with this script--this is my (extremely detailed) outline, right now:

That represents the “trunk” of the story, as well as two of five total branches; overall, this is about 42% of my projected total number of chapters (although I get the sense that I have slightly overestimated how many chapters I’ll end up with, when it’s over)

The changes to the outline resulted in cutting some things, expanding others, & a lot of moving stuff around; the core components have been refined to their most meaningful, & the scope of the story pared down a little into something I could conceivably finish, by myself

I'm hoping so! At hazard of being overambitious, I'm hoping to have the "trunk" of the outline--as well as a few major branches--hashed out by November, so that I can get writing! I don't expect I'll have the whole outline finished by then, which makes me a little hesitant to get going with it, but if all of my major edits are solidified by then, then I shouldn’t have reason to worry

Housekeeping Update

This project is still super not-dead, but I’ve ended up having to do some major revisions, i.e., restructure the entire thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

I can already see that it’ll be a hell of a lot better than what I had... but I did have to start over completely! I still have a lot of outlining to do, but once that’s sorted, the actual writing should be fairly straight-forward! (My outlines are pretty intense, y’all)
