Hello everyone! I just wanted to take some time to announce some new changes and let you all know what’s going on with me. Wall of text incoming.

CW: abuse mention

As some of you are aware, I grew up in an abusive home. I have healed a lot since then and have cut my parents out of my life, but it was an experience that I am still wrestling with to this day. I was twelve years old when I determined that I had to earn my independence from my family as quickly as possible so I could leave that situation. It was a small wonder that I was allowed to go to college, so I chose my career path based on two criteria: 1: learn a skill that would make me a livable wage. 2: start making that wage as quickly as possible.

I ended up in laboratory science, and after a few years in the field, landed an enviable position that paid well, had great benefits and a competent team. By any outsider’s estimation I was living the dream - unfortunately, this dream was someone else’s.

I’ve worked tremendously hard so I can start over and ask myself the question that most people tackle when they’re eighteen - what do I want to be when I grow up?

Well, the dream - MY dream - is to publish a fantasy novel. I wrote my first book when I was four years old, and even though it took 25 years, I finally had a good idea for another one. My focus over the next year or so is writing, art, and my healing. I’ve been sprinting for the last ten years and I need a chance to slow down.

I’m going to be reopening my writing commissions as well as offering art commissions for the first time and publishing exclusive content via Patreon. If you’re able to commission me or become a patron, it will help me towards my goal of doing what I love. Keep an eye out for my commission sheet in the near future!

The simple fact of the matter is that I wouldn’t be where I am today without this fandom. I have never had my creative work embraced in this way, and your kindness enabled me to stop and ask myself what was actually important to me. I truly thank you all for what you’ve helped make possible.

Sometimes a family is two boyfriends, their dogs, and the worlds they’ve conquered together.

I’d like to introduce a new MC! His name is Nova (he/him), who originally hails from a nomadic tribe in the Scourgelands. He was raised by his aunt, an accomplished magician who taught Nova the basics of her craft when she wasn’t busy running the shop in Vesuvia. He became a blacksmith by trade, utilizing his aunt’s training to put enchantments on the weapons he forged for his clan’s warriors and hunters. He inherited the shop when his aunt became too old to properly look after it and used the money he earned to support the tribe.

Nova is a punk. If my MC Arlo is a cinnamon bun, Nova is a cinnamon bun with rusty nails in the batter - still sweet, but someone is definitely getting a tooth broken.

Good morning!

Sorry for not posting sooner! I had a lot of work this week and couldn’t find enough time for Julian’s pencil drawing. This isn’t finished though, but I though about posting a little WIP here for you to have a look 👀

I haven’t drawn an armor with graphite pencils before, so is kind of a challenge for me, but I’m taking my time because I want this to be a master piece.

And yes, Julian as a warrior on shining armor is freaking cool! 😱😱😱😱 (not like I’ve expected something different tho).

I hope to finish it on next week 😊

P.D.: For those who had asked this: I always use hard pencils (H5,H2) for sketching and drawing the first structure. For shadows and darker parts I use soft pencils (HB2, B1, B4), and for lighting: a little eraser 😘
