Yet Another Year
John bit his lip and looked at the ground. Sometimes it felt that no matter what they did it was not enough, it was never enough. “Yeah… our town sucks…” he said with a sad smile.
"I’ll never be busy for you Faye" he told her with a smile, "well I might have been a tiny bit busy the last couple of weeks, but never again, I’m gonna stop by the club more often. How have you been?"
Faye couldn't help but reach up and lay a hand on her old friends shoulder to comfort him. "That it does, but we must have faith that one day things won't be so bad. That one day we will be free. If we don't, well, if we don't, what's the point of living?"
"Thanks darling. I appreciate that. It really does mean the world to me." She said smiling back at the man in front of her. "You know me darling, things have been about the same as they were the last time we spoke, The club is fine, the girls are good and I'm as doing as well as I can."
