La La Land || Faye & Aiden
“No need for the assurance, if you didn’t I would think that there was something seriously wrong with you.” He jabbed his thumb into the unlock door button on the fob and couldn’t help but smile at the piercing beeps and the flashing lights that followed. Not only was this his ticket off campus for the day but it was freedom in his fingertips. There was nothing quite like the feeling of driving a nice sports car and having the open road in front of him. There were many times he wanted to just drive and keep going until he had to stop but then the thought of his sister always stopped him from doing it.
He beat her to the card door and pumped the handle, holding it open for her. She would probably hate the gesture, he reasoned with how much she blew up over him simply calling her ‘sweetheart’ once, but he was an asshole, not an outright jerk. “So poison, venom, and blunt force trauma are out of the question?” he asked, a teasing tone latching itself onto his words. “Your enemies may be upset to know that.”
Faye hadn’t thought often about the appeal of driving mainly because she never had to do it while at school. It was something that she knew how to do but never actually put it to good use. Even at home she didn’t want a car of her own due the fact that she liked to walk everywhere or Trent usually gave her a ride.
Her eyes glared at him as he held the door for her but she decided to ignore the comments that wanted to spill forth. Faye was attempting to be on her best behavior. “They’re already upset because I don’t care about their opinions.” She settled into the seat, buckled herself and turned to him. “I know enough self defense already to put up a fight, anyway.”
