F/os who might not often say “I love you” but show it in other little ways. Gifting you things you mentioned you wanted in passing, cooking you something after you’ve had a long day, surprising you with flowers or a treat just because it’ll brighten your day. Even just acting the slightest bit softer with you... consider the little ways they might show their care for you .
familial/parental f/o who is your rock, your safe place, the person that is there for you despite odds. You wanna vent? Go ahead! They care deeply. You wanna talk about something interesting you? Please do! They wanna get to know you more and more and be that person you can count on. <3

That's entirely understandable and valid. The joy we experience in the process of creation is a wonderful thing, and we naturally want to share it and know that it has been seen and others can feel our joy along with us.
But babes.
This is for you. First and foremost your writing, your art in general, is for you. Did you make the thing? Did you make it the way you wanted to make it? Did you enjoy the process? When you listen only to your voice regarding the piece, does the end result bring you joy?
Yeah?
Then that's all that matters. There's no rubric, no standard to meet, nobody to impress. Write for you. Draw for you. Do that first, always, you'll find it a lot more freeing than constantly trying to do what appeals to others.
Write that crossover fic that's mostly an excuse to have multiple f/os in the room with you at once. Make that campy art piece of you and your f/os you've had sitting in the back of your mind for awhile. Get more self indulgent and do it now.
Your f/o gently teasing knots out of your hair, their movements careful and light.
They take their time and make sure you're comfortable, whether that's through frequent check-ins, asking about your day, rambling about whatever topic comes to mind, or letting the silence wash over you both as they work.
As the knots slowly loosen, then come undone, you realise it doesn't hurt. Their touch is deliberate—painless—with only a soft, lingering warmth left in its wake.

You don't have to put way too much effort into your appearance! You are always a work of art to your f/o, no matter if you have makeup on, if your hair is done or if you're wearing perfume/cologne; to them you're always at your most beautiful.
Eat whenever and as much/little as you'd like! Your f/o would never make negative comments on your body or eating habits. If you can't have all of your meal at once, they'll store it for when you're hungry again; if you'd like more food when you're done, they'll get started on seconds.
Talk about what's on your mind! From a cool bug you saw to deep and philosophical conversations, your f/o loves engaging with your mind! They could spend hours chatting with you without ever getting bored or upset, you mesmerize them.
Engage in your hobbies! Your f/o will always be your biggest fan and supporter, if it brings you joy then they're happy to stay by your side as you play/work/build/etc! They're amazed at your skill and knowledge.
Rest and work in whatever ways work best for you! It's okay to not always be productive, your f/o is proud of you for the smallest and biggest accomplishments! They'll help you remember to take things one step at a time, at your own pace.
Your f/o loves you for you, as you are! There's no need to act differently or hide yourself from them. Everything they get to learn about you just makes them love and adore you more and more each day.
🌙 what are some pet names/nicknames your f/o calls you, if they have any? do you have any for them? if so, what are they?
R. tends to use nicknames much more than I do, and though they vary quite a lot he has a few he frequents: 'darling', 'firelight', and 'my prince' are some examples! He tends to mainly use these when we're alone; he can get quite flustered if friends or family overhear him (despite the fact that they're well-aware of his affections by this point).
Whilst I tend to use less nicknames, I'll sometimes call him 'my love' when we're in a more romantic-oriented part of our relationship (although again, I would only say such a thing if I thought we were alone... we are similar on that front, getting easily flustered by other people seeing us being soft with one another, even if our affections are obvious).
Although less a nickname, one thing that we both refer to each other as regardless of whether it's platonic/romantic/queerplatonic/exc. is as partners. It started when we started as sparring partners and stuck ever since :] Both of us used to get very defensive (to an also suspicious extent...) when people mistook it to mean romantic partners though, and even now when we are sometimes in a romantic relationship we still grumble from time to time when they think it means just that: there are Layers to it, after all.

OOO I'm not sure if I can narrow it down to one, so I'm gonna share a few! It's like a very tiny bouquet :].
One that immediately jumps to mind is the fox and cub; something about the petal shape and colours remind me of her, and I think she might like them. They're also pretty sturdy and can handle a lot of conditions, which fits her vibe well.

Another one is lavender; it's a classic, but something about it just reminds me of her. I think it's the mixture of its colour and how it has a calming, familiar scent, since her presence evokes similar feelings for me.

Finally, I associate r. with chrysanthemum: they're sometimes associated with noble character, longevity, and vitality, all of which encapsulate r. very well, plus I think they're pretty (just like r. :]).

R.'s handwriting is neat but rough, if that makes sense: it's clear and consistent, but you get the sense that there is a quickness and forcefulness behind their strokes. They write with a certain confidence and ease, whether they're griping about something that happened earlier in the day or talking passionately about one of their new inventions—but there's a softness there in the privacy of our letters, too. Whether they're direct about their affections or not depends on the day, but more and more often they are open with their feelings in a way that feels quiet and achingly sincere.
They very much prefer to use fancy stationary when writing letters to me whenever they can, though sometimes in a rush if they need to get their thoughts down or write something quickly they'll grab whatever they can get. Similarly, they strive for their letters to be presented in a manner that they deem fitting for both writer and recipient, and can be quite a perfectionist at times: he uses his own custom wax seal and, depending on urgency and where I am, he sometimes uses his own inventions to courier letters to me directly.

Your FO can't stop talking about how wonderful you are, to everyone they speak to. Even when they make an effort to stop, they can't help but bring you up in conversation. Something funny you did to make them laugh, something smart you said that impressed them, something sweet you did that melted their heart... and everyone they speak to just smile knowingly at the love in your FO's voice, all about, and for, you.

i think people get so used to their own creative work that they forget how amazing it is so i’m making this post as a reminder You are the only person capable of making art the exact way you make it. nobody else on earth can do that. there are always going to be those little habits and intricacies and details that simply cannot be replicated whether it’s in writing or painting or textiles and you make life all the better for it i love my friends’ art i love art from strangers im trying to love my own art I LOVE YOU!!!
