Why does NO ONE ever talk about censordolls mother? I find her and Francis’ relationship so interesting.

For one, its implied (or i believe explicitly stated) that she calls Francis every day at the exact time, “Nine of PM.” From our knowledge, she is the ONLY parent in moralton who does this. Why does she do this? does she believe censordoll is unable to live independently? Whenever I speculate about censordoll’s childhood, this scene comes up in my mind, because it implies a lot.

I personally believe that like Angela, censordolls mother was extremely neurotic and overprotective of francis. She sees censordolls infertility as a hinderance, and purposefully puts her down for it, when she was the one to make that decision in the first place. This also comes back to censordoll and how she reacts to the phone call in alone. When the phone rings before she “gets home,” she deliberately ignores the call when believing it to be her mother. While this could be because she wants her mother to believe she isn’t yet home for punctuation, it could also imply that francis isn’t very excited, or even dreads phoning her mother. (i dont blame her.) Which could indicate that she feels threatened or inferior to her mother. Although censordoll is a very self-assured person, she still feels the need to defend herself when insulted by her mother.

the phone call alone (punny) sets up so much background information and i wish we got more lore on francis and her childhood. anywho, this is just sum food for thought. lmk yalls opinions on this 🤑🤑🤑
