mareshah:
mareshah shrugged gently, “don’t ask me. i don’t date either.” truthfully she hadn’t been in a real relationship since preston. and dating while doing international travel? not ideal. she had a few people in different cities that she could have good times with but nothing serious. “i think people usually have drinks or food, make small talk for a few hours, then do the ‘end of the night’ kiss thing and see if they wanna fuck.” blunt if nothing else, mareshah grinned. “this ain’t typical; it’s morning, this shit is coffee, and we never met. so your move.”
“At least I’m not up against a date expert who’s gonna criticise my every move.” Ainsley chuckled. “Well, we’ve had a drink and we’ve talked. We can jump to the end of the night and fuck or have you already decided against that?” he asked, his eyebrow arching up. “Typical isn’t really my thing, to be fair, I don’t want to turn into someone predictable and boring.”

“So…I should just go on my break in the middle of ringing people up? Sounds like a great way to get fired.”
“Well if you’re gonna go around complaining about your arm all the time, is the job really worth it?”
jadeadlani:
“What? What’s wrong with pasta?” Jade’s thick brows furrowed at their anti-pasta rhetoric. “Oh yeah? Like what, hmm?”
“Nothing’s wrong with it, necessarily, it’s just not the best food to eat.” Ainsley shrugged. “So many things. Pizza, curry, burgers. Need me to go on?”

mareshah:
mareshah listened to him, actually getting a little more attracted to him because of his passion. she loved a man with ambition. “you want me to stop you?” the woman laughed loudly, “boy, we just met,” she lifted the coffee mug, wagging it in his direction to make her point and then sitting it back down and turning toward him. “so, the coffee part of this date is over. what now?”
“Yeah, is that a problem?” Ainsley asked, the corner of his lips pulled into a smirk as he watched her. “And yet here I am asking you to stop my possible decline in attractiveness,” he laughed. Letting out a sigh as he placed his empty coffee mug down, he shrugged at her question. “I don’t know, I don’t do the whole dating thing. What do people do on dates?”

mareshah:
mareshah finished her coffee wth a last gulp, “that sounds fun, if you’re good at it.” her elbow rested on the counter, propping up the side of her face. “so are you? good at it, i mean. you’re still employed so you must not be awful, at least.”
“Babe, I’m good at a lot of things.” Ainsley told her as he finished his own coffee. “I love to argue with people, I love proving people wrong and I love dishing out karma to people that deserve it. I couldn’t give myself a better job if I tried,” he smirked. “I’m going to turn into one of those people that are like ‘I’m married to my job’,” he imitated with a small grimace. “Stop me before I get to that point, I’m too pretty to turn cringey.”

mareshah laughed, digging his confidence and smiling brightly. “oh you do, huh?” she looked away from him, cheshire grin directed at her coffee as she sipped it. “yup, model. pay close attention, we got billboards and buses and benches and shit all over town. it requires a lot of dedication, for sure, but there are worse jobs,” she shrugged. “what do you do?”
Smirking as he looked at her, Ainsley nodded. “Of course I do. I mean, you’re looking at me, you know it’s true,” he chuckled before taking another sip of his coffee. “Damn, I’ll definitely keep an eye out. You’ll be the first to know if I spot you around town,” he promised. “I’m a barrister, lawyer, whatever you want to call it. Arguing with people for a living.”
