A girl doesn't have to be a double zero to be beautiful, a guy doesn't have to have a twelve pack and bulging biceps to be hot. Society's version of "beauty" only encompasses a very small fraction of the beauty the human body possess. So what if you're heavier? Or have boobs? Or a nice ass? Forget "beauty standards", because human beings are beautiful creatures in whatever shape, size, or form they come in. Confidence is key, ladies and gents. Fuck their beauty standards.

Ok. I get that all my curvy sisters are up in arms over the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch’s comments about how they only want the cool pretty people shopping there. I too think his remarks are insensitive and ignorant. I care so much in fact, I had to Google how to spell the damn store name correctly. Honestly, was anyone really shocked that the chain is sizeist and geared to what would be stereotypicaly considered the ‘cool kids’? 

Yes I read the article on Jezebel out of sheer curiosity. Then i went back about my business because honestly, why would I give a flying fuck that I’m not welcome in that store due to my size and not meeting an archaic beauty standard? Why would I be up in arms that some dude who owns a clothing store that wreaks like a douche bag broster soaked in rape juice, thinks I’m not good enough? I thought that was the whole point of the body acceptance movement? Not giving a crap then going about your day being awesome despite what society may say or think. 

Do we really need polos that bad? You know Old Navy has those right? I can certainly pass on shopping some where with giant ads featuring black and white, close to child porn, sad looking people on them. 

I don’t know, I guess my point is that there are more important battles to face in the body acceptance movement. I’m not going to get my knickers in a twist every time some CEO says something stupid, because in the end these guys are pretty well policed right? Who’s to say this isn’t all some PR campaign for some free advertising?

As a side note, Google spell check keeps trying to change ‘ambercrombie’ to ‘ambergris’, which is a fatty substance in sperm whales that smells like poo.
