buffon won the world cup at 28 years of age. casillas won the world cup at 29 years of age. neuer won the world cup at 28 years of age. 

neuer made it to the podium for the ballon d’or last year - the first goalie to do so since buffon in 2006. it’s an achievement that casillas doesn’t have at all. he’s won world’s best goalkeeper twice, in 2013 and 2014. that makes it two years running, so he’s equalled gigi’s streak and is quite possibly on his way to equalling casillas’s streak. 

he helped his team to a treble in 2013, something buffon has never done. he’s helped his team to three straight league titles. germany is well-poised to do incredibly well in the euros next summer. 

buffon has almost ten years of experience and time to rack up trophies on neuer. casillas has five years on him. to point at them having more trophies and awards than him is pigheaded and argumentative when there’s a reason for that and it’s not anything neuer can help. the things he’s accomplished put him right on par with the course of both their careers. i don’t like the guy but jfc pull your head out of your ass and acknowledge the fact that he’s a fucking great goalie. if you want to talk shit on him, admit that you just don’t like him, don’t try to act like he’s shit because older goalies have accomplished more. fuck
