Tired eyes, lazily glancing down at the coffee in his hand as Blaze made his way home after a particularly exhausting shift at work. He had not been able to sleep properly last night, which did not make it easier for him to deal with customers. Sometimes, they could be so completely irritating, especially when they were so clearly in the wrong. Needless to say, given the irritation and the sleep deprivation, he wasn’t exactly too aware of his surroundings, besides making sure he went through the doors of the right apartment building. But that was were his awareness ended, not too surprisingly resulting in him bumping into another person in his haste to get home. “I’m so sorry. Are you okay?” Had he spilled his coffe over them? He hoped not.

Free ice cream wasn’t something she’d ever reject. Those were two of her favourite things combined, and she couldn’t wait to savour the cold yet cozy and sweet mix. “Do they have those really big things?” she asked, her enthusiasm transformed into a sly grin. “Like… I’ve seen them on the internet, it’s like a huge bowl filled with ice cream an’ a bunch of other stuff.” She grabbed Blaze’s arm to hold onto it, but she’d still deny being under the influence. “I want fourteen of those.”

“Do you mean an ice cream bowl?” In all honesty, he wasn’t following the words she was putting out. He knew of ice cream bowls, with whipped cream and sprinkles, but somehow he had a feeling she was talking about something more than that. Then again, he’d never been to South Korea, and had no idea how ice cream culture differentiated there. “How about we start with one, and go from there?”

“What? You think I’m drunk?” She placed a hand in front of her mouth and tried to detect the smell of alcohol– there was no way she was acting weirdly. She ‘wasn’t one to act drunk’ (according to herself, that is). She sprung up, losing her balance for a split second. With a face filled with raw pride, she looked at Blaze. “See? I can stand on my own. Now, let us begin the march!” Her decision was accompanied by a brusque pointing movement, except she had no idea where the fabled gelato place was; she just pointed at the sky. “Towards better days!”

Mental note, keep your mouth shut next time. Clearly, she was an independent woman who didn’t need his help - although that wouldn’t stop him from keeping an eye on her until she was safely home again. “Of course. But at least let me lead the way, seeing as I’m the one who recommended the place.” That seemed fair to him, something she couldn’t argue against. And he wasn’t about to be lead on a wild goose chase around the city of san fran. “It’ll be my treat.”
