not to be fake deep about Minecraft on main but. anyone else ever get the feeling that Minecraft is a post-post-apocalyptic sort of world that, with each update, is starting to heal? we start with skeletons and zombies and giant spiders and weird mutated things, but life slowly returns - scary things live in the ocean, yes, but coral reefs came back, diverse fish populations returned, there are dolphins and squids and stuff. in 1.16 the nether goes from a blighted hellscape to still terrifying, but a place that can sustain life. there's new types of trees, animals, flowers, bees were added. basically the Minecraft game universe feels like a place that, with each update, is healing from something terrible, and that's just neat

instead of trapping endermen in boats why don't we start keeping silverfish cages
can you imagine walking into someone's house and looking down through their glass floor at a writhing mass of silverfish

splash potion of harming doesn’t actually have any potion in it you just get hurt because of the fucking glass shards flying at you
Me shooting a skeleton with a bow I got from killing another skeleton:
IM CRYING--
PRISMARINE DOES CHANGE ITS FUCKING COLOR?! I THOUGHT I WAS JUST GOING MAD
this is it sped up by 2000%
I be towncrafting
So the possibility of a Badlands biome update got me musing on Ghost Townes from the gold rush.
Like a combination of the zombie villages and Woodland mansions. They'd be hella rare and hella lootful and HELLA WESTERN.
Y'got these leather-strapped skellies hanging out beneath these balconies. Entering means a hailfire of arrows as these guys are EVERYWHERE.
A little saloon I'll revisit later. Note the Skeleton horse as they spawn free here! Along with the occasional ghost rider, so beware!
A cosy little inside. The "tap" barrel contains milk buckets, a little nod to the Zelda """milk""" bars.
A "train" station! The ticket tellers will shoot you though, so there's that.
The well is a well. Move along. Ignore Kuzco.
A temple! If you listen carefully you can hear a bitching guitar solo from November Rain.
Just kidding, you'll hear death and terror. This is a bad badlands place.
Over here we have the TNT shop! A must-visit for the overzealous miner.
Hmmm... maybe the owner is upstairs?
Aww man
