Armor: ❒ ❒ ❒ White, red (alt. yellow) and grey color scheme, equipped with a stealth cloak, weapon holsters, mass effect barrier, high-frenquency extendable bracelets, and a projectile-throwing gauntlet as seen on Cerberus Phantoms.
Style of dress: ❒ ❒ ❒ ❒ ❒ Casual, has a slight preference for blue and yellow, mostly form-fitting clothing, scarcely accessorized.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE Type: ENTP
Caracal's strongest suit is her mimicry ability. She can reproduce behaviors, gestures, voices and combat moves after witnessing them only once with staggering accuracy. She uses it to blend in, remarking that organics abuse this very skill to appear more likable to a subject of interest. She is eloquent, genial and thoughtful, and generally loves to argue—both for its own sake, and to show off her debating skills.
Unlike EDI, she regards organics curiously but does not aspire to humanity, believing that the key to coexistence is equality as opposed to assimilation. Ironically, she is arguably the most human-like synthetic due to her mimicry ability, experience and semblance. She exhibits a profound interest in interpersonal relationships, which she finds delicately complex. Caracal argues that despite not identifying as an organic life-form, she is still capable of feeling, and that the status of sapient synthetic construct shouldn't be used to signify inferiority.
HISTORY
Alliance soldier Cara Joe was Officer Waaberi's relative who was present on the Normandy SR-1 at the time of its destruction. A part of SSV Agincourt's crew, credited for protecting Elysium from Terminus System ships during the Skyllian Blitz, Joe was to replace Waaberi as the latter would have been going into maternity leave. Reportedly, Officer Joe's last moments on the Normandy were spent watching family vids on the omni-tool. Once the omni-chip was recovered from the Normandy crash site and the latest entries accessed, Caracal commented by saying that the gesture had been Joe's attempt at calming herself in a moment of panic. She later admitted that Vivienn, Joe's daughter, had seemed like a well-behaved child, and timidly suggested that they sent her a consolation gift. Cara Joe was chosen to become a model for the subsequently-named Caracal agent for two reasons: one, unlike Shepard, Officer Joe was largely unrecognized except for her crew's actions during the Skyllian Blitz, and two, her having been about to become a part of Shepard's original crew meant the commander would feel at least partially responsible for her demise, so she would feel inclined to accept and trust the synthetic. Over the next year, Caracal's fast-learning skills would benefit immensely from witnessing firsthand the galaxy's elite at work. She played a critical role during the Suicide Mission, for which she won the respect and admiration of the crew. Perhaps partly due to the Reaper technology that was used to conceive her, the synthetic derived her own moral judgment from Shepard's decisions. When the commander defected, so did she, of her own accord she said, requesting assistance from Tali to remove whatever safeguards have been placed on her for averting Cerberus disloyalty. Despite being given a choice once she was clear of Cerberus safeguards, Caracal elected to check back with the Alliance as a double-agent with the help of Kasumi, who produced false orders for her to rely on during the investigation.
EXTRA
Caracal was intended as a replacement for Kai Leng.
She has a slight preference for the gender-neutral pronoun "they".
Not all of Cara's hairs are colored. The majority of the filaments are actually transparent, which results in a graying look whenever light hits from behind her.
She enjoys watching wildlife documentaries on her omni-tool.
She has saved Cara Joe's family vids on her device and has developed a habit of watching them before every important mission in addition to new ones that she has shot during her time on the Normandy.
She is semi-active on social media.
Almost dead yesterday, maybe dead tomorrow, but alive, gloriously alive, today.

HISTORY
Pre-service history: Earthborn
Background: Sole Survivor
Maraia Shepard was born in Western Australia to multiracial parents. She lived the first four years of her life in a scarcely populated, semi-arid zone in the Great Victoria Desert. Her family moved to the city with intent to start a business as rumors of space travel began circulating. After going bankrupt not a year later, they opted to rent a small apartment and see that their children receive complete education so that they might travel offworld and find a better life. The turning point was the year 2163, when an 11-year-old Maraia witnessed the landlord’s son killing his ex-wife by repeatedly running her over with the car. Maraia was too afraid to come back home after school, so she spent the night in the company of a beggar. She testified against the landlord’s son, who had threatened her family in various ways to get them to side with him in court.
Her parent’s had her take self-defense classes and escorted her to and from school to make sure she was safe from the threat of retaliation. For years they were stalked, harassed and denied services. They moved to a cheaper apartment in a lousy neighborhood where Maraia took to steep shows of aggression to command respect and protection from the local gangs. At 17, while working as a waitress at a bar, she stopped a knife fight by disarming the attacker. She recognized the other party as Alliance veteran Danny Sinclair, the homeless person whom had walked her home six years ago. They had put their life back together, and were now working as a drill sergeant at the local barracks. They extended an invitation to Maraia to watch Alliance recruits train. So motivated she felt afterwards that she enrolled in the military the following year, completing the course with record results.

Style of dress: Casual, dominant colors are white, grey, mustard and green, rarely form-fitting clothing, tastefully accessorized.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
According to Chambers’ description, the best-suited word for describing Layla would be “personable”. She is a pleasant, private person, modest and intelligent, but also spiritual and deeply instinctive. As a seasoned spy in Cerberus’ employ, Sevinj is socially-adept and intelligent, persuasive, and approachable. On the other hand, she is very selective with the people she associates with, going as far as to refer to her superiors for a change if she doesn’t like the company. She founds a first impression in the first five seconds of conversation, and very rarely changes her mind about a person. Spiritual, deeply instinctive, Sevinj is self-sufficient and doesn’t rely on help to get a task done, being in favor of taking charge and doing things her own way. Her way is cautious and slow, but most likely to succeed—she will never leave things to fate, always planning ahead and spending a great deal of time intelligence-gathering before even accepting the assignment.
Off-duty, she is pensive, warm, and loyal, with an interest in crafting. She is a family-oriented individual, which is rather unfortunate as she was forced to cut ties with her family completely to ensure their safety.
HISTORY
Introduced to Shepard’s group as Layla Abdul to preserve her identity, Sevinj is a Cerberus agent specialized in espionage. Her expertise proved useful for decoding information and identifying salvageable technology.
She was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, but the threat of hate crimes in light of recent armed confrontations in the Middle East forced her parents to leave Earth and put down roots in a new colony. They were placed under protection and rationed provisions as well as light jobs, as both of her parents suffered from debilitating conditions. Sevinj started working at age 14 to make ends meet. She did not complete her education until later in life.
On May 24, age 19, she tested positive for an abnormal BRCA1 gene. The company that funded the colony, which was a branch of Cerberus, offered to support her financially. She accepted, and began fieldwork while still undergoing chemotherapy, recruiting over 1000 humans for the company, including members of her family and friends. By the time she had been declared healthy, she was already being considered for the chief position. Between 2175 and 2182, Sevinj stationed on Earth to complete her studies, earning a master’s degree in psychology. Being bound by contract to work for Cerberus, she accepted their offer to receive special training and became one of their best spies.
Her position in Shepard’s team was mainly a channel between them and the Illusive Man. Fearing that her parents’ lives might be at stake, Sevinj could not leave Cerberus, and acted as a double-agent for the Alliance throughout the year 1285.
EXTRA
Sevinj has roots in the Azerbaijan republic, Turkey, Morocco and Spain.
Her preferred weapon is a custom-made crossbow.
Like her mother before her, Sevinj is a cancer survivor. The date engraved on her bracelet is the day she was released from the hospital. Sevinj has suffered chemotherapy-induced hearing loss and is now partially deaf, hence her dislike of firearms.
She subscribed to the Islamic faith, her parents’ religion, shortly after being cured of cancer.
The burn scars on her chin are from a lighter. She acquired them five years ago while being interrogated; her captor, a human thug, burned her with the device to try to coax information out of her.
Her favorite pop icon is Lara Croft.
Sevinj’s parents are strongly xenophobic, and use the pronoun “it” to refer to non-humans. Much to her dismay, Sevinj sometimes slips into this bad habit, for which she profusely apologizes.

Accessories: Small plug earrings and an old Swarovski replica watch with pink gems which she thought lost; the screen is cracked, but it is functional. She has a nervous habit of opening, closing, and twirling it on her wrist before every mission.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Alyona is a self-proclaimed in-your-face kind of woman; she is witty and animated, "expressive but not easy to read" and theatrical. She is receptive and respectful of alien cultures, never willfully making someone feel uncomfortable for their differences. While she might appear as submissive, Alyona uses an arsenal of vocal cues and body language to manipulate people. She can be emotional, maintaining that she has cried at Fleet and Flotilla. Alyona is a worldly and socially-active person who loves music and sports, and is peeved by passive-aggression. She prefers the company of close friends and hates being ignored the most. She also loathes fluorescent lighting, arguing that it is lifeless and it makes her head hurt, and cables, because she has a tendency to trip on them. Alyona is intuitive and rambunctious, and only apparently maintains a positive outlook on life.
HISTORY
Alyona Dorofeveya-Somby, formerly known as Felix Cosma Dorofeyev-Somby, was born in 2140 CE to Nikita, an assistant manager at Bellingshausen station, and his wife, Veronica-Hélène, on the island of the same name. She is ethnically Russian, Dutch, Azerbaijani and Sámi. Alyona expressed her desire to transition as soon as she understood the concept of genders. The medical process began when Alyona was 16. The eezo releases of the 1250s occurred while she was undergoing hormonal therapy. Having become sensitized, she gained minor biotic potential as a result of exposure. She might be one of the first (and oldest) human biotics.
She enrolled into the Alliance after graduating high school, a term enforced by her parents. She was the first in her family to travel into space. As a child growing up in the South Pole, Alyona had wanted to become an environmentalist.
During the Skyllian Blitz, for which she received a badge of honor, Alyona sustained a gunshot wound to the head that rendered her L1 implant completely useless. While recovering, she received an anonymous invitation to be part of a major project entitled “Project Titan”. She initially refused.
Alyona took to red sand to bolster her biotics, which had subsided after the Blitz. She became addicted and was stripped of her honors after a routine checkup, when traces of the substance were detected in her system despite her taking almost every conceivable precaution. Alyona did not cooperate with the investigators, and fled to the Terminus Systems when the threat of imprisonment arose. She adapted quickly to the lawlessness of the Terminus, using military knowledge to dodge ambushes and social skills to make connections. She was contacted again about Project Titan, a unique armor set which used magnetic fields to trigger and boost biotic response in suitable candidates. Acknowledging the risks, Alyona agreed to run field tests on the Titan. She has since lost contact with the manufacturers.
EXTRA
‣ Alyona was born on a leap day.
‣ She suffers from ADHD.
‣ She has experienced sexual harassment and fetishization throughout her life.
‣ She was home-schooled until 7th grade. Alyone dropped out of high school in the final semester before the exam. She was made to return the following year, graduating with average scores.
‣ Alyona came close to freezing to death on her N7 course, which took place on Mavigon, Han System. She lost the top parts of her ring and little finger to frostbite. In the end, she had the N7 symbol tattooed on the stumped digit as a joke.
‣ She loves tonics and will mix them in almost every drink.
‣ As a child, she enjoyed wearing her hair in pigtails.
‣ She’s been smoking regularly since she was 12.
‣ Her favorite band is a multispecies group out in the Terminus Systems who are best known for their remixes of classic rock ballads.
‣ Her smile has been described as “cartoonish”.
‣ She spends her leisure time at the arcade trying to beat everyone’s high scores or dancing at the casino.

she is sublime. she is the way that whiskey tastes at 4 in the morning when you’re too drunk to remember caloric content. there’s a light that shines in her so that i cannot tell if she is hearth or volcano. often i don’t care. i want to wrap myself around her even if i combust as a result. she tells me he reminds her of the side of a highway: bleak, littered, growing alongside gravel. she says she’s a sucker for the fixer-uppers. i wipe my sweaty palms on my jeans and tell her to be careful. my friend leans over and says, “you’re a poet, right? how do you define love?” and i am forced to smile and say, “well, that’s a hard one.”
