Siegbert deserves a flower bouquet, honestly.
Also I drew a dark blue haired Sieggy for those of us dark blue haired Xanderfuckers. Sieggy is the most precious beautiful thing ever to exist I love him.

At the Royal Ball
"Who IS that person?"
"Care to dance?"
"Have you seen the prince? He's so handsome."
"You should introduce yourself."
"I want nothing to do with them!"
"I'm sorry... Do I know you?"
"I have met so many people today. I'm afraid I forgot your name..."
"Would you like a drink? The champagne is amazing."
"I shouldn't be here. I'm not one of these blue bloods."
"I feel so out of place here. Can we go home?"
"Have you seen the princess? She's so beautiful!"
"I feel as though I have been waiting for this moment all my life."
"Stop trying to set me up with people!"
"These shoes are killing me."
"Do you think they noticed me?"
"This crown is soooo heavy..."
"During the next dance I'm just going to slip out. No one will notice."
"All this pomp and circumstance... How I loathe it."
"If they come at me one more time they will find out just how heavy this scepter is."
"All I want is a cup of tea."
"Is there any real food here? Tiny bits of things on platters just isn't cutting it."
"Isn't this night magical?"
“Don’t hold back! I have come all this way to learn what makes a hero!”

The prettiest boy with his guardian angel cousin

Upon entering the barracks, Shinonome caught sight of Siegbert, hunched over a table. He was probably studying, as always, but there was no harm in talking to him, right? He wanted them to maintain friendly relations, after all, and that wasn’t going to happen if they couldn’t talk to each other about anything.
“Hey, Siegbert!” Comes the Hoshidan prince’s greeting as he sits across from the other. “Studying again, huh? What’s today’s lesson?”
Tired eyes vigorously studied aging page after page, from book to book, growing increasingly wary as time went on. Not that Hoshidan literature wasn’t interesting--in fact it was much preferred to reviewing early Nohrian history for the umpteenth time--but Seigbert had been up to it for several hours on end, as his study sessions would often be, and staring at text whilst scribbling notes into a weathered notebook wasn’t the most engaging of activities.
He looked up from his books at the mention of his name to see the other prince, and was inwardly grateful for the sudden distraction.
“Nothing too exciting, unfortunately,” a sigh escaped as he stretched his shoulders to sit up proper, folding the book in his hands, using his thumbs as bookmark until a piece of string was slipped through the pages to take their place, “I wouldn’t quite call this studying, as it’s more of my own leisure. I borrowed a book from Azura thinking I’d expand my reading list from the Nohrian canon. Which is intriguing, to see the differences and everything, but this book is rather long, and very in depth. I wasn’t quite expecting something like this when borrowing from someone who’s not too much older than you or me...”
“I was just about to move onto some math before you showed up, though,”
After placing the book to the side, his arms crossed before him as he leaned onto the wooden table, showing no real intention of actually starting said math that he’d previously mentioned.
“Of course, I think it’s due time for a short break... Did you need something from me, Shinonome?”
Hearing his son’s words, the crown prince’s serious expression softened a bit, and he put a hand on the boy’s shoulder. He didn’t need to say much for Marx to know what was going through his head, but it was clear from what he had said that the idea of being a disappointment weighed much heavier on him than he let on.
“What father could be disappointed by a son who works as hard as you? I only wish to see you improve further.” A pause, and he removes his hand from Sigbert’s shoulder. “Grab your sword, son, and I will meet you in the courtyard.”
The praise caught him by surprise, leaving him silent for a moment before Siegbert quickly nodded.
“T-thank you.”
He could feel his face burn slightly from embarrassment as he turned off towards the armory. He’d so often let his insecurities slip, and when it happened before his father, it only felt worse. Marx’s was kind and caring, he took notice to his fears, always taking time to right whatever wrong came through his head. Siegbert was always grateful and rather relieved to hear his reassuring words, yet it always left him feeling as if he were a hindrance.
As he sorted through his thoughts, the prince picked up a practice sword, checking over the blade quickly, using the time to direct his mind elsewhere. This was something he could think over later, for now it would be better not to waste any more of his fathers time. He re-sheathed the sword, then trotted back out across the courtyard to Marx.
“Thank you, again, for this opportunity, Father. I’ve learned much from simply observing you in battle, but I hope I can learn much more from having you as an opponent,”
Though, he thought, I may be a bit out of practice. Training dummies don’t put up much of a fight these days.

“Pardon, but I found this book of paintings… is it yours, Siegbert? They really are beautiful.”
Siegbert glanced over to the book in his cousins hands, immediately recognizing the pages, a faint smile pulling itself across his lips as he replied.
“I’m rather glad to hear you enjoy it as well, Foleo. It’s by one of my favorite artists. Some of the scenes remind me of places I used to go and paint back in the Deep Realms, though much more eloquently done,” he interrupts himself with a light chuckle, “They’re rather calming, don’t you think?”

bowing down before them
A certain uneasiness overtook him, grabbed him by his ankles and dragged him down to the darkest bit of his mind that he’d struggled to shun away for years. Here, a person knelt before him, long before his time, before he was ready, and his heart sank like a stone in a river. It was a sight the prince would have to deal with in the years to come, and yet the idea filled him with fear. People…Subjects, someday, would do this constantly the day he became King and every day after, but that was so far away. Or, he begged the Gods it would be. He still never once saw that he was worthy of such an idea and yet here someone presented him with the very same thing.
“P-please don’t… do that…”
A nervous chuckle slipped through lips that feigned a rather pained looking smile as he looked anywhere but at the person before him.
“I don’t deserve it, nor do I really want it…S-so please. Stop.”
Kamui wasn’t that surprised to find that Siegbert also considered the library his home. Even though Kamui personally didn’t linger around in it due to his confinement in the Northern Fortress, he knew the books lying on the shelf like it was the back of his hand. He even had a special book club consisting of him, Joker, and Felicia– some days Leon would join them for a meeting.
Nonetheless, even though he had read the texts several times, he didn’t mind reading them again– it brought back memories and even still, reading was a favorite pastime of his. Although, he had always avoided the strategy books like the plague. And some reason, during that book club, he read fiction although it wasn’t really his favorite– he considered his favorite genre to be nonfiction, especially books focused on the wonders of the outside world.
So he couldn’t help but cringe inwardly at seeing that book in his hands, but still greeted Siegbert with a warm smile. “It’s alright, I could tell you’re really focused.”
“I didn’t really need anything in particular, it’s just been a while since I visited the castle’s library. But what are you doing, Siegbert?”
Calloused and scarred hands traced over the pages before him, then began to straiten up books scattered across the unsightly desk. Books had collected there over the day, and now that someone else was looking at the mess it was slightly embarrassing that he could have possibly let something get this disorganized. Siegbert gathered a few of the books that would no longer be of use and stacked them up in his arms to be returned to the shelves.
“Nothing out of the ordinary for me, just studying as usual. During a meeting earlier, one soldier mentioned a peculiar tactic, so I thought to do some research on it to see if it would actually be effective. Unfortunately, I haven't found much that’s even slightly similar to the idea.”
One by one, he slid books back into their empty spots among the others, rambling on about tactics, dusting off the spines along the way. It really had to be boring for someone to listen to, and it was always the unfortunate topic at hand when someone caught him in the middle of or just after studying. With his arms now empty, the prince realized his babbling and quickly changed the subject.
“I’m glad you came in, though, I hadn’t realized how much time had passed.”
Sigurney as in "Sieg-Ernie".
“...T-that really is an unfortunate name...”
By the way you actually have a twin brother named Sigurney
“I wouldn’t be surprised about me not being aware of this seeing as all of us children grew up in separate Deep Realms, whether or not they were siblings. But...I think my father would have told me this eventually...”
