“To reach things on high shelves,” she deadpanned, before giggling at the nose boop. “I mean, maybe. You could just be sick,” she pointed out, and shrugged. “I’m just saying, it’s different behaviour than usual. So you either really like him, or he’s your best friend, in which case I will fight Ollie,” she said fiercely. Jasmine’s bottom lip trembled again at his little outburst but she took in a deep breath to calm down. She really hated mood swings. “Yeah, twins,” she said softly. She smiled sheepishly, blushing when Felix talked about Ross’s sperm. “Um - yeah, it’s… I don’t know, I guess it’ll fit. My tummy will stretch or whatever… Dad wants me to get a c-section, he’s worried that my hips won’t be wide enough. But the doctor hasn’t said anything yet, so… so I think… I think I want to do a natural birth,” she said gently, knowing he wouldn’t take well to that. “I mean, popping two kids out is just the same as popping out one kid, right? I’d already be in maximum pain, it just means the pain lasts a little longer. But twins also mean that all my symptoms are gonna be worse, s-so I’m gonna be extra emotional, and my morning sickness is worse and I’m gonna start sleeping more… I don’t know, it’s scary. But… But I’m excited. Two babies! That means they’ll always have a best friend,” she said, eyes shining. Jas wrinkled her nose. “I don’t want a boob job. I want my boobies.” Jas laughed a bit and shook her head, smooth his hair with her fingers in a surprisingly motherly gesture. “You know you’re not broken. That shuld be what’s important, regardless of what she’s doing. But just remember that… that she’s coming from a good place. She’s doing this because she cares about you, even if her methods are a bit stifling. You keep being you and she’ll come around and realise how awesome you are. Besides… Being pregnant gives you all kinds of weirdly maternal urges. Seriously. It’s like, I see a baby, and suddenly it’s the cutest frickin’ thing I’ve ever seen in my whole damn life. Try to stick it out, okay? For me?” She gave hi the puppy dog eyes.
“You know, I can always put things on the high shelves on purpose,” he stated with a smirk and then rolled his eyes. “You realise it’s more impossible to fight Ollie than to lie to your dad? He’s just too sweet and innocent to fight, you’d immediately cry after you’re done, babe,” Felix laughed and pulled his best friend closer, putting his hand on top of her stomach, stroking it lightly with a thumb. “Imagine how funny you’re going to walk… WADDLE! Like a cute penguin!” he joked and grinned, looking at Jas. “Back at Dalton we had this teacher who always waddled like a penguin, it was adorable,” he chuckled. “We’ll see what the doctor says on the next visit, okay? I mean, doesn’t it depend on how big the babies are going to be?” he asked, sounding really carefully – he didn’t need a breakdown right now and he didn’t want to show how freaked out he was in front of Jas, but she probably knew anyway. He made a funny face when she touched his hair like a mum would do. “You know what….mum? There’s a pile of laundry in my bathroom,” he said, fluttering his eyelashes and smiled sweetly at her. “Alright, alright, I’ll try to be nice to the pregnant gold-digger. I mean it’s still better than my neighbour’s mail order bride, right?”
