And in the middle of important fights, we get shots of the tank just bc or tense moments tank guy closes his eyes and thinks of the fish and instead of calming him down it makes him worse bc THEY NEED A FUCKING CLEAN!!

See the thing is. I don't know any fishkeeper that is at the "100 gallon Bichir tank" level who would NOT do the water change, clean the filer sponges, set up and test the automatic feeder AND leave detailed instructions for the housesitter BEFORE THE HEIST. NOBODY WITH AN ADULT BICHIR IS FAILING TO DO TANK MAINTENANCE BEFORE A PLANNED EVENT.

Trying to show off pictures of your tank and people being jerks about it is 1000% accurate tho. Especially for Bichir keepers.

I had to look up what a Bichir is and oh! I guess I'm a Bichir keeper!

This is Snek. He's 8 years old. I have a 125 tank just for him. He really likes earthworms and hanging out in his castle. He helps keep the Molly population down. He's afraid of change and people walking towards him (which makes taking photos of him HARD).

My Hoya finlaysonii 'Chicken Farm'' has really outdone herself this year with 13 simultaneous blooms, buds, and peduncles. She's kind of an ugly little plant (see last pic), but look at all those coronas!

Our very own bathtub grotto 🩷

We saw this pink cast iron bathtub in someone's front yard and asked if they were getting rid of it. They were, so we hauled this absolute beast of a bathtub home and dug a hole to bury half of it (it's way too strong to cut it in half). And now it's a permanent fixture in the backyard garden.

I'm not religious, I just like Mother Marys and bathtub grottos 😅

shrimpso has been seen aimlessly drifting in the tank, bumping along rocks and the sides of the tank

when snail asked about it, shrimpso said shrimpso was trying to feel what it would be like to be an email, floating through space and time to get to shrimpso's computer

snail nodded and carried on, not wanting to spend an hour trying to explain to shrimpso that that wasn't how emails worked
