aRE U KIDDING ME
btw i just looked at the playlist they linked and i am so fucking mad
The resurgence of rick rolling has brought about a new form of rick rolling. A rick rolling where you trick someone into thinking you’re going to classic rick roll them, only to link them to a photograph of the video, or an ashley tisdale cover, or this playlist.
Like living creatures, memes must evolve to survive….
We’ve witnessed the birth of the Neo-Rickroll
the rollissance is upon us

As close as you will ever be to a nuclear explosion
THIS IS FUCKING TERRIFYING
No thank you.
The columns of smoke in the foreground are telephone poles boiling
This is way cooler to look at than it should be
Science side of Tumblr would like to add:
Heat is generally transmitted in 3 forms: conduction, convection, radiation.
The fact that the telephone poles and wires are boiling away well before the shockwave hits them indicates that the heat from the explosion has not reached them by convection (much slower than the speed of sound) or by conduction (at best, comparable to the speed of sound), but purely by radiation. In other words: the explosion is bright enough to boil everything.

there are three levels to tumblr friendships:
1. super nice messages
2. slightly wierd messages
3. messages with the entirety of bohemian rhapsody lyrics and messages at 4am saying things like “what if you woke up and u were a chicken”
If you are looking to move from level 1 to level 2 or level 2 to level 3, CONSIDER THIS YOUR INVITATION.
If u are looking to going straight to level three with me my ask is wide open
Quick, someone go level 3. :P

I need volunteers
For what?
I’m going to the airport wearing an expensive black dress with a diamond necklace and glasses of champagne in both hands, waltzing through, casually reminding my chauffeur to haul my bags in for me. I need 4-5 attractive people (race+gender doesn’t matter) wearing clothes that are not better than mine, and cool sunglasses begging me not to leave, on their knees, barely grasping my dress because they want me to stay but at the same time they know the dress is worth more than anything they can ever afford. Turning around ever so slightly and almost spilling, but not quite all the way there, my champagne, I’ll laugh and say quite loudly, “darlings I have to visit my ACTUAL husband!”

A rich snail goes into a car shop, picks out a super fast car, and says “I want a big S painted on the right side, the left side, the front, the back, I want big S’s everywhere.” And the car painter asks “Why?” And the snail says “Because when I pass people on the road I want them to point at me and say ‘Wow! Look at that escargot!”
you had me at rich snail
THANK YOU

I was riding the NYC subway on Saturday. Pretty loud, it was a commuter train. We made a stop at 168th street.
Two police officers got on the train.
The entire atmosphere changed. Suddenly, everyone’s quiet. I notice that a Black guy sitting across from me, shifted seats away from the officers and deliberately turned his head away from them. His hands were shaking. Most of the people in the car nervously darted eyes at each other. A Hispanic woman widened her eyes at me when she saw that one of the police officers had his hand on his gun. We all held our breath.
Finally they got off at 59th street.
This is the reality of the relationship between NYC police and ethnic minorities. They see all of us as immediately suspicious. We don’t see them as enforcers of anything but fear.
You know what said the most? The only people who weren’t nervous were a white mother and child, who were happily singing and playing while the rest of us squirmed in discomfort.
The disparity in the experiences of New Yorkers riding the subway based on skin color and facial features amazes me.

I never thought I would have to make a post like this but I need to prove a point to my mom
This is a statue to commemorate a brave little dog by the name of Leo, who died while saving a little 10-year-old girl who was being attacked by a much larger dog. Leo witnessed the little girl being pinned to the ground by the dog who began biting her. Leo immediately ran to the rescue and began biting the bigger dog on the leg who turned on Leo and let the girl go free. Sadly, Leo was killed.
The statue is located in a park in Serbia so he can watch over all of the children playing. There is a quote underneath that reads “To all small heroes with big hearts,” which is a true testament to the courageous nature of little Leo.
