The Bochum 2015 Cine-Cut

60 hours. 776 clips. 8 recordings. It is over, it is done.

Dear StEx enthusiasts, may I introduce you to the project that has consumed my life recently: The Bochum 2015 Cine-Cut.

Aka: Felds using his video editing skills for good! Utilizing 8 master recordings made between 2014 and 2015, obtained from various sources, I set out to create a multi-cam cut of the whole show as it happened in this point in time ten years ago. I denoised, dehazed and did my best to polish the footage, before adding literal subtitles (direct translations from German) and annotations where needed.

How can I obtain this supercut? Will it be on YouTube?

No, it will not be on YouTube. However, I am not gatekeeping it, ever. Once it is finished, I will put the good news out here on tumblr, and send a download link to people who ask for it via dm. You can do literally anything with this except put it on YouTube. Please do not ruin it for everyone.

Send it to the Pope or dm it to Electra themself I don't care, as long as my watermark is respected

Why watermark something that doesn’t technically belong to you?

Because I spent 60 hours cutting, editing, grading, and subtitling, as well as translating. Also, if people see clips of it, they can find me and get the whole thing!

Why make a super cut of the 2015 version specifically?

Because the show as it is today has little to do with what was happening in 2015. With even more changes to come (shudders), I put this together in appreciation of something that is over and cannot be experienced or viewed anymore.

Also, thanks to a certain master, we especially have a lot of footage of Toby this era.

Why not just use the english lyrics?

Because a lot of the choreography is literal, and the lyrics aren't always 1:1 translations!

This is for people who want a watchable, movie-like version of the entire thing that focuses on what is most important on stage, without fancams, and with mostly consistent actors. The lyrics are color coded to both the ensembles and characters, by the way!

Also perfect to introduce new people to the fandom!

okokok so I’m reading more of your fic bc I just remembered about it and I love a lot of the little details! CB’s internal monologue is amazing and the most in-character that I’ve seen, I like the implications of CB being Pennsy and Antenna being Penn-Central, CB’s radio basically being a ham setup, the thought out mechanics of everything, the scene with CB talking with a trucker, and (idk if this is intentional) how CB having multiple shirts from different rail companies kinda mirrors the stickers he has in his official design, aka his “hunting trophies”.

Like this is genuinely motivating me to write more of my own StEx fic

(also also this isn’t like to correct you about anything, but a cool thing about a lot of cabooses, especially the old wooden ones, is that they actually have stoves inside! Of the rolling stock that we have at the heritage railroad I work at, our cabooses are actually the warmest in the winter! Granted, that’s probably because they’re their own ecosystem and we don’t run steam.)

I have VERY specific thoughts about this character so people actually thinking it fits makes me so happy dnsnnxkskdns 😭💞💞💞💞‼️‼️

Him and Antenna are an interesting duo imo. They look very, VERY similar, and ironically have very similar opinions about the whole class system. It's just that Antenna is much more openly unhappy, and Control clearly has a favorite (the one that smiles more! Guess who that is, lol), so he is also somewhat jealous of CB. They could probably bond over their generak cynicism, but Antenna can sense that something is *off* about CB, he just doesn’t know *what*; so he assumes it's CB pretending to be overly nice.

Funfact; I am hard of hearing, much of the noises and radio details in the fic are based on hearing aid experience. 😅 I also researched most of the radio things for my debut movie lmao, and that info had to go somewhere I guess.

And yes !!!!! The shirts are intentional, I'm so glad someone finally noticed 💞😭 My goal is to go through every company he is implied to have been with and off-handedly mention that he owns a shirt from them lol.

Yeah I know about the stoves!! Considering they doubled as the crew cars, that makes total sense, but I fully decided to sacrifice that fact for symbolism NFNDNDN (Especially with my ongoing motif of CB seeking proximity to warmth; Dinah, and engines that run much hotter), so I strayed from realism because it fit his character better.
