Introductions

Hello, my name is Felidae. Not my real name, just what my Office likes to call me for some reason. I am a Grade 8 Fixer of Thornwatch Office; please do not send in any work requests here. I do not have the authority to accept them, and I probably would not anyways. I have since been informed that I am, in fact, both allowed and encouraged to accept work requests. Please note that Thornwatch Office only operates in the Backstreets of District 4.

A coworker suggested I create this blog(?) as a place to complain into the (metaphorical) void and "maybe talk to some strangers".

Oh, I forgot. 'She/her'.

[This blog is meant to be a sort of in-character blog for a Project Moon original character. I'm honestly not sure what time she exists in except that it's pre-White Nights. Text bracketed in [this] way is out of character.]

[Felidae is a Bloodfiend who works in a Fixer Office that also has other Bloodfiends, but other than that I'm still figuring her out. She is unlikely to admit this on her own, though, so I'm just putting this out here.]

An open question for anyone who happens upon this but my curiosity has gotten the better of me today.

How expensive do you suppose it is to produce The Prescripts that the Index follow? I mean sure paper is easy- but the ink they use to write all of that down? I'm no accountant but the last time I tried to buy a cartridge of printer ink it ran me almost 72k Ahn. And that was just for printer ink!

For a single sheet of prescripts I imagine the price is much higher than that. Then factor in the labor costs for writing all of those down.. It hurts to think about how much Ahn is wasted on scraps of paper.

I will admit that I have never spoken to a member of the Index, but is it not likely that the Index simply produces their own ink?

Well. I do not know how they would do it, but it seems like a thing that the Fingers would be able to do. Why would they buy ink from another when they could simply create it themselves for a much lesser cost (or none at all)?

...This is just me theorising, though.

Been a while since I said anything here. It has been quite busy.

Enough time today for me to take a short break, thankfully. Should probably find something appropriate to eat before my hunger makes that decision for me.

feeling tempted to take up Alt's offer of a spar. What kind of report is this? What did you even do? 'killed somebody yesterday afternoon' Okay and??? Can I have a single detail about who got killed where and also when exactly it happened. Who even turned this in. I am going to hit somebody (with the hilt of my sword because we cannot afford any serious injuries).

I think I can confidently say that I did not at all miss the Office's incidents.

That was actually an excellent break! Unfortunately, it is now over.

I do not wish to know just how much work has piled up in my absence.

I know I need to check all the details and make sure this is a legitimate request and all that but it is a very tempting thought to just approve this and sic Alt on this group. She is very restless and I do not particularly trust that a spar with any of us will be of any help.

We really need to figure out how to get our hands on some of those suppression boluses that I have heard about.

might have overestimated Alt's self-restraint somewhat. Ma'am you cannot just go around attacking everyone you see in our territory in hopes that someone will indulge you.

well apparently Con knows how to fix the window so. That was easy enough to resolve. Now all we need is a kill contract within the next two days so we can point Alt at something and she will not do something stupid out of boredom like 'try to fight Sweepers'

Well, on one hand, I am no longer thirsty.

On the other hand... this is a lot of bodies. And we need to check if this Syndicate was connected to anybody we need to worry about. And also there are stains allll over these forms and I have to write everything out again.

Could have been worse. I probably could and should have handled that more neatly, but... Ah, nobody from our Office is dead and all the invaders (that I noticed) are, so. Not too much to complain about, I suppose.

Nobody pays this much just to get a mundane letter delivered. And there is a whole other contract I need to look over to make sure it does not contain some bit that says we need to work for only them forever.

Hhhhhhh. Should get this to the Operator, see what he says. Hopefully we can afford to ignore this person.

Not comfortably, but we can afford to ignore the request as long as we can find another. Hopefully it will be something mundane enough.

it appears I have done my job a bit too adequately. I am being sent off to negotiate some other contract... At least this one is a delivery sort, not another protection contract. Still, if this has to be negotiated, there are almost certainly going to be complications. Hopefully manageable ones.
